I guess I'm from Pennsylvania (Midland) which is a fine place to be from. But I'm really from Minnesota.
-
A little strange, was born and grew up in the South, but this says I'm from the Northeast (New York, New Jersey). I live in NJ now. I just know how to not sound so Southern.

It said I had a midlands accent, and I thought "no way", until I got to the second to last sentence. I am a Texan, but I was born and raised in Dallas...spooky.

I am most definitely not from the south. I am a New Yorker all the way; who happens to live in Connecticut... Sorry
Ms_SMJ1 -
I was surprised since I have lived in the northeast over 50 years; however my children are always telling me about my southern accent...lol..

I am as Philadelphian as cheesesteak? No way! Virginia and Georgia are where I have spent pretty much equal parts of my life.

It guesses Philadelphia and I'm about as Philly as you can get. How did they guess that??? It's amazing! Good quiz...
-
Right on.
You said I am North Central often mistaken for a Canadian.
I am Canadian from Southern Ontario. Right on.
-
This quiz claims I have a Northeastern accent. Gee... I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest. Faulty test.

I got Philly, but I'm from foreign country.. I haven't lived there. Well, it kinda close to Philly or Baltimore, I'm in DC.

I did grow up in Wisconsin, but my pronunciation comes more from being a phonics based elementary reading teacher.
-
so inaccurate i lived in North Jersey my whole life and it said Midland. At least it doesn't take long to get to Pennsylvania and the 2nd guess was Northeast.

Wondering where you'll meet your summer soulmate?Take my quiz,"Where will you meet your summer crush?".
Merissa1 -
Ha! 100% Midland. Very accurate! Although I rated higher on the Boston accent than southern, which is completely wrong.
-
This was a really fun quiz for me. I was laughing a little bit at myself trying to listen to myself pronumounce the words over.
-
wow! 97% northeast, and if I'm from New York chances are good people could actually hear that I am. Great considering I'm from Sweden...
-
Result was northeast; close enough. I was born in Michigan but moved to California when I was 8 years old.

I'm from the West and it said I had an Inland North Eastern accent. Never lived in that territory, go figure.
-
the test said i was from the northeast. i have been told all my life when in other parts of the country that is must be from new jersey or brooklyn and on occasion philly. i am from neither....i am from new orleans and most native new orleanians sound like they are from hoboken, new jersey. read the book confederacy of dunces and you will understand our accent.
-
Said 93% inland north. Could not have been more spot on! Born and raised in WI and now have lived in the Upper Prnibsula of MI for 5 years. I think it is the combo of "about" and "on" that nailed me :)
Snogirl1 -
I have never visited Philadelphia. I was born and reared in the South. I wonder if, by "Philadelphia", you mean "educated"?
Prongsy1 -
Said inland north. Very wrong
Born raised and still live in east bay across from San Francisco CA.
-
Well, they've got me pegged. The funny thing is, when I was younger I worked hard to get rid of my New York accent, but now I find I'm kind of proud of it.
