Lavender shook her head. “It’s not your fault.” She looked up at her, then at the people around them to make sure no one was watching. She wanted to pull her closer, to stay close to her just for a little bit, but she didn’t need it to be too obvious to the public. She didn’t want a scandal.

‘I’m giving you an apology because I doubt anyone else will.’ Maeve put one hand in her hair, the other still holding Lavender’s hand. She didn’t care much about the other people, she just didn’t want Lavender to be upset about them.

Lavender leaned into the hand that was tangled up in her hair. “I’m sorry your girlfriend is such a wreck.” She mumbled.

‘I’m sorry that your girlfriend is a princess,’ Maeve said, playing with her hair in an attempt to distract her. ‘You’re not a wreck.’

“I’m not sorry that my girlfriends a princess. If she wasn’t, she wouldn’t be you.” Lavender looked up at her, giving her a small smile.

Maeve gave a smile back, twirling Lavender’s hair around her finger. ‘Fine, I’m sorry people like being nosy about princesses, then.’

Lavender leaned into her. “Don’t be sorry. You don’t owe me an apology.”

‘You don’t owe me an apology, either,’ Maeve huffed.

“I do when I’m acting like this.”

‘Acting like what?’ Maeve frowned, pulling her closer.

“Like a paranoid mess.” Lavender shrugged. “Or like a clingy child.”

‘I’d be acting the same if I were you,’ Maeve said, patting her head.

“I doubt it.” Lavender leaned into her more. “You’re too much of a badass.”

Maeve paused, then giggled. ‘You think I’m a badass?’

"Of course!" Lavender grinned.
