“The papers? Just speculation on who’s turning the oh so precious royalty gay.” Lavender giggled. “First Jayden, now me. It’s all quite the scandal.” She was saying it all in an overly dramatic voice, trying to treat it as a joke as a way to get herself used to the public speculating about the two of them.

‘Jayden Cell? The blond guy who’s staying with my brother?’ Maeve giggled. ‘It must be the crowns. Or a blond problem.’

“It’s a blonde problem.” Lavender giggled. She liked thinking Maeve thought her hair was attractive. It made her feel like she really did belong with Maeve, even if it was on a superficial level.

‘It’s the blonds turning us homosexual!’ Maeve exclaimed, giggling, voice probably being audible around the house. ‘How scandalous!’ She thought Lavender’s hair was very pretty. She was very jealous.

Lavender giggled, not trying to think about what would happen if her parents overheard that. She focused on Maeve instead. “So scandalous! Unspeakable!”

‘Burn the blonds!’ Maeve giggled, opening the door ti Lavender’s room.

“Please don’t burn the blonds.” Lavender giggled, going to her room.

‘Aw, why!’

“Because I don’t want to die yet, dummy.” Lavender held her close.

‘… you don’t count as a blond,’ Maeve said. ‘We’ll burn all the others.’

“I thought you were attracted to blonds!” Lavender teased. “Am i not blond enough for you?” She let out a gap. “You must be cheating on me with some nice, classy blond across the country!” She gave a teasing smile.

Maeve’s jaw dropped. ‘Wha- No! No, never, I would never!’ she exclaimed, holding her hands. ‘I am attracted to blonds! Very!’

“I’m not blond enough for you.” Lavender repeated, flipping her hair dramatically. She giggled, looking back at Maeve.

‘Yes you are! You’re like, albino!’ Maeve said, grinning. ‘You’re very blond!’

“I’m not albino!” Lavender giggled. “I’m not pale!”
