  • Thanks for the shoutout sweetie! :)

Hmm, well, I'm the same as you, I usually write as I go but recently, I take a break once every while to refresh my thoughts. When this happens, I may get a spark of inspiration; so if you do but you don't know where to put it, write it down but don't forget to come back to it, it may come in use! If you want to work on that idea straight away; go crazy how it can relate to whatever your currently working on to that inspiration if idea. That way you can get a little planning down and you're good for the next while and then you can write straight from there. I suggest you bring a small notebook and pen with you everywhere you go because there is inspiration everywhere. I met an author who has done the same, everyday experiences became a story to him! It may not work, but it's worth a shot!

  • Well I already know how I want to end my series and I have a couple milestones I want to hit in between. Whatever happens between those points is never planned beforehand XP I have a Notepad document on my computer when I write my story, whatever comes to mind. Once it reaches critical mass (about 30-ish questions) I go back and revise it then cut and paste it into quiz format.

Also, I always keep paper and a pencil near me wherever I am :)

    P.S. I agree with all the shout-outs

  • I type my stories on my Blackberry in the Memo Pad area, but I guess you could do that on any phone or just on the computer. I just like typing it on my phone first so that if I have an idea or if I'm just bored I can just take it out and start writing. I write at my best when it's at night because my mind processes things differently, and my creative side comes out more before I go to sleep. I don't like writing in journals or notebooks because I'm really lazy and it would probably break my hand. Imagine writing my quiz stories in a notebook by hand with a pencil. Ouch. And if you do it on the computer then you can revise it and then when you're ready, you can just copy and paste on this site so it's easier than retyping from a notebook or a phone. I hope I helped. c:

  • Well for me I usually just make it up on the spot but I've been having a bunch of ideas lately for my series, so I've been carrying a notebook and pen around and write whenever I get an idea even though my teachers get mad when I do it during class. Sometimes I end up having dreams about the next part while I'm sleeping, I know I'm weird but that's how I roll XD. ANYWAYS so basically I just carry a notebook and pen around or make it up on the spot. So yeah writing in a notebook helps or typing it out works too, hope I've helped

  • For me I usually plan ahead so I know what to do and what is going to happen so I can make trigger effects. Which is what I call stuff that sets off other things. It depends what I'm doing to how far I think ahead. This doesn't always happen so sometimes I make it up on the spot and edit it out later when I've had more time to think about it. But when I get an idea popped into my head. No matter how far ahead it may be I usually start trigger effects right away and in my HP series I'm hoping to build in some emotions. Especially near the end of year 4.

So I guess it depends who you are by what methods you use but in my opinion, you don't need advice. You're amazing already... Stay strong and keep writing! xo

  • thanks for the shoutout. I never write my quizzes on a laptop call me old fashioned but i have like 20 journals just for writing my stories in. And i mostly don't prepare my quiz stories cause when i write it down and then start making the part i'm taken a whole different direction from what i originally planned to write so i just write something for the next part and it becomes my guideline, but those quiz stories are just a hobby of mine if i was going to post my real ones i'd definitely write it down first before posting, just carry a journal and a pen cause ideas will come up anywhere i take my journal and pen everywhere

  • Awh ! You gave me a shout out. I wasn't expecting that. So usually I would just make a long comment but that would irritate people. You're an awesome person xP Anyway, if you want to plan ahead, I suggest you start writing down your quizzes in books, with pen and paper of course =) and then type it up on a document, make changes or fix up where something went wrong and then post it up on the internet. Simple. That's what I do. It helps actually. But you must always have the book wherever you go or a mini-notebook to write down all your ideas if one just pops up in your head (:

  • Thanks for the shout out XD and I usually always have a notebook with me (and a pencil of course :P) so that way when an idea pops into my head, I can write it down. I can probably look at anything and come up with some sort of story. I also sometimes write like a chapter ahead or write during the week and put the quiz/next part up on Friday night or the weekend.

  • Hm, I can't really give you much advise since I make up my quizzes on the spot. (I never really was the organized type :P) Well what you're doing sounds good. Sometimes it's a good idea to jot some ideas down on paper and then go from there.

  • For me, I usually just plan out as much I've thought out already, and go back and read what I have. Then I think what would be the best way to go from there, read it over one more time, to see if there are anymore loose ends to tie up. That's basically what I do, and it's worked out pretty well so far, I think.

  • I just wing it. But for the last part of my quiz series I did a bit of plotting beccausse it is very interactive. Also shoutouts are good.
