  1. The end of third year is finally here! On to the story. *Recap* The last edition was the Christmas special. You opened presents, in which you received an eagle necklace from Oliver. You had a snowball fight with all of the Gryffindors and Draco, in which you ended up as the only one on a team with Draco. A fight broke out on the frozen lake, and you used magic to dump all of them in the lake. You walked back into the castle, where Harry and Ron caught up to you. Ron was furious and soon left, while Harry stayed to cheer you up. You ended up kissing under the mistletoe, and you dried Harry's robes off before Neville came. You reunited with everyone, and you ran into Draco after dinner alone. He implied that he liked you, and that you belonged in Slytherin before kissing you. Angry, you stalked off towards your common room and promptly ran into Neville. He comforted you, and hinted that he liked you as well, though you implied that you should remain friends for now.
  2. Oliver returned after the two weeks of holidays, and took full advantage of the new relationship, making sure that everyone else knew we were together, to Ron's infuriation. He still wasn't talking to me much except to blatantly tell me to break up with Oliver. After Gryffindor won the Quidditch house cup, Oliver paraded me around on his shoulders for at least an hour, with energy to spare. Unfortunately, the end of the school year was ending, and we both knew what was coming. Harry, Ron, and Hermione had reconciled quite a while ago over the Firebolt, and they got into quite an adventure involving Sirius Black, which they gave me explicit details on. Soon, we were boarding the train to return home. Instead of finding a seat with Padma, I went to go get a compartment with my Gryffindor friends. Oliver stopped me halfway down the corridor and pulled me into an empty compartment.
  3. "Oliver, what are you-oh, right," I said, noticing his guilty expression. "You know, I'll be fine here. I've got my friends, and you've got your Quidditch. I knew how this was going to end when I caught you on the train that morning," I said reassuringly, looking into his pleading brown eyes. "It doesn't have to end like this," he said, attempting a small smile. "You know it's not going to work. You'll be at Puddlemere United, while I'll be at Hogwarts for the next four years. Four years is a long time, not to mention a big age difference," I said, looking at my hands as I spoke. It was a hard experience, but I had seen it coming for months. It was nothing new. He nodded. It was strange. It seemed I was the one that needed to comfort him, despite the fact that he was four years my senior. "You can always write, you know. And maybe in four years, things will be different. Until then, I guess, you're free to go...well, you know. Find someone else," I said, my voice breaking slightly. "I don't see that happening for me. But you know, I've noticed how many are jealous of where I am now, and I see why. I won't hold it against you if you find someone else," he said, his eyes watery and regretful. Our conversation seemed awfully final. I felt the necklace he had given me around my neck, and I quickly unclasped it. "I'm sure you'll want this back," I said a bit reluctantly, gesturing for him to take it. He shook his head and smiled, curling my fingers back around it. "It's yours. It's not intended for anyone else," he said softly. I kissed him one last time and started to step out of the compartment. Oliver looked a bit tearful, but he was far too proud to cry. "It's not goodbye, you know," I said reassuringly. He nodded and smiled. "I'll see you soon," he said.
  4. I wiped a tear from my cheek and found my friends in a compartment nearby. They all seemed to understand what had just happened, and avoided the subject of Oliver like the plague. The train ride seemed to fly by. I found I dreaded returning home to my grandparents. Though Hogwarts had always been my home, I now had an excellent group of friends and plenty of adventures to come.
  5. We arrived at the train station all too soon. Ron had completely forgotten about our previous arguments, seeing as I had just said goodbye to Oliver. He was now completely friendly around me, and Harry filled me in on everything he had learned in the past year. The information I received astonished me. Sirius Black was innocent, and Harry's godfather. I was happy for him, but it was pretty unbelievable. I didn't want to say goodbye to Neville either. He seemed to be one of the only ones that stayed on my side at all times. He was someone to talk to when nobody else would. And lastly, there was Draco. The one that I had hardly talked with since that day he kissed me. Naturally, I had to run into him before I left for the year. I saw him as I was stepping down from the train. "Cassandra, you can't avoid me forever," he said cockily, taking my trunk from my hands as I jumped down. "Since when do you use my first name? And I can try. So far, I've succeeded. Now move," I said rudely, taking my trunk back possessively. Shadow (Me: The owl, remember? It's been a while.) squawked in protest at the rough movement. "I'll catch you eventually. We've got another four years together," he said with a wicked grin. I shot a look at him. "Goodbye, Draco," I said flatly, and left him by the train alone.
  6. Harry and the others caught up to me after a few moments. "What did Malfoy want?" he asked, a bit concerned. "He's plotting against Gryffindor house again. Particularly Gryffindors with scars on their foreheads," I said jokingly, punching his arm playfully. "It wouldn't surprise me," he said, laughing. Ron cut in. "Cassandra, I've been meaning to ask you. My dad has tickets to the Quidditch World Cup. I was wondering if you want to come with Harry, Hermione, and my family and I. You can stay with us before the game if you want," he offered hopefully. I grinned. "That would be brilliant. A break from my grandparents would be nice," I said. Ron smiled genuinely for the first time in a while. Neville seemed a put out by the topic of the conversation, since he couldn't make it to the World Cup. "Well, I'll make sure to get you something there. You'd better write over the summer, too. You'll be flooded with letters if you don't," I warned him jokingly. He put a mock expression on his face. "I'm terrified," he said, uncharacteristically sarcastic. We were all putting off the goodbye we knew had to come. I put out my arms indicatively. "Group hug," I proposed. They groaned exaggeratedly, but obliged. We piled into a five-person hug, and then regretfully parted to our own families.
  7. I found my grandparents on the other side of the barrier, waiting by a wall. They weren't alone. A small girl with fiery red hair and bright green eyes accompanied them, looking quite nervous. She couldn't have been more than ten or eleven, the age of entry for Hogwarts schooling. I smiled inquisitively at her as I approached. "Er, hi. Who are you?" I asked uncertainly. My grandmother answered instead. "Why, she's your sister, Cassandra."
  8. *music826* Cliffhanger! That's the first time I've done one of those, actually. This was a really short edition. I won't keep you waiting for long, hopefully. I'm in a writing mood, so who knows, the next edition might be up sooner than you think.
  9. That's all I have. See you soon, hopefully.
  10. Double postage today! I got this out in record time! By the way, I love comments and suggestions. My imagination IS exhaustible sometimes, unfortunately.
