I'm not comfortable with hugging my dad, but I still do it if he asks for one. It's just a quick little side hug. I don't know if you know this or not, but adults need to be hugged and loved too. What's so bad that you can't just suck it up for five seconds and give her a hug?
-
..okay actually what I don't understand is why I'm even being questioned on this o.o I don't need a reason for not wanting someone to touch me, that was my point...
-
The problem was on your part, not her's kid.
And yes you do. A parental figure asked for a hug and you said no. You have no reason beyond "I don't like it", which just makes you look hateful and rude. And that's why we're looking for a reason. So we don't have to come to the logical conclusion that YOU ARE hateful and rude. We're asking because we hope you aren't what you're starting to look like. -
Because I don't understand why you don't want to give someone a hug, especially your own mother. She cared for you and raised you and have you love, yet you can't give it back to her?
-
..oh oops sorry
No I actually don't need a reason. My reason is actually I feel uncomfortable with it, it's not rude of me for that. But I don't ever need a reason for refusing to let someone touch me, it doesn't matter who it is. -
@Megan because I don't feel comfortable with her touching me? I don't love her any less just because I don't want to be touched.
-
So you are hateful and rude. Got it.
-
-
No I'm not. I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. That doesn't make me rude. Just because I don't let someone touch me doesn't mean I hate them.
-
You treat your mother like a stranger, like a parasite.
I've known clinical level germaphobes who hug their mothers. Your reason doesn't follow through. -
Then, in my opinion, you're just cold-hearted. And rude. And selfish.
-
No one is ever obligated to touch anyone in any way, no matter who they are. It doesn't make them rude. They don't need a reason. If I don't want to touch someone, I'm not obligated to. If I tell them no, that means no.
@Leah that was sad. -
That is pretty mean, at the least you could just say outright that hugs are uncomfortable. Or just hug and pretend you like it, it's only a couple seconds but it lasts for a while for whoever offered the hug.
-
Yes, yes it was.. Is that really all you're getting out of it? .______.
-
...o.o I don't understand why everyone is getting so mad over this ?? How dare I not touch someone I feel uncomfortable touching.... o.o
Leah- yup.
