"Are you sure?" derricks father asked. "There'll be animals and ice cream.."
"Don't bribe me with ice cream.." Derrick blushed deeply.
"Well ok." his father turned away and walked out. -
She mumbled something in her sleep.

Derrick looked down and smiled. She still looked precious.

She opened one eye lazily and looked at him for a moment.

"Hi.." Derrick muttered, still smiling.

"Hi..." She sat up slowly.

"You slept well?" he Asked gently.

She smiled a bit, nodding.

"That's good." he rubbed her back comfortingly.

She purred a bit, then realized she was purring, and stopped.

Derrick laughed a little. "That was kinda cute." he muttered. He started to wonder why he even was releuctant to talk to Evelyn. She was really cool.

"Um..." Evelyn blushed a bit.

"Sorry, if that made you uncomfortable." he said.

"No, it didn't..." She smiled.

"Ok.." he said. Derrick started to rub circles on her back again.
