  • Been in NC for 30 years but I fondly remember early mornings in the DU student union cafeteria, the great club sandwiches at Sofi's next to the jail, the crazies in the William Penn Hotel, the trolleys, the Hill district garbage collectors at 4 am, swimiming in the fountain in front of the IBM bldg., never being afraid to be walking around town at any time, great boots at Flag Brothers, White Castle and the great bridges. God, what a fabulous place. GO STEELERS!!!

  • Great quiz! I'm still 100% Burgh though I've been gone for 24 years. Moved to the Burgh from Canada when I was 10, moved back to Canada years later with one heck of an accent. Other Canadians didn't understand me! Whaddya mean you don't know what I mean when I call you nebby? I still slip back into the accent when I talk to or spend time with my fellow Burgh friends! Still a diehard Stillers fan (Terrible Towels, Black & Gold clothes for game day and even a Steelers Smashball! LOVE IT!) and have no problems finding fellow fans here in Vancouver, BC. I loved living in the Burgh and still miss it.

  • Great quiz! Born in the Burgh, raised in McKeesport (MASH class of '69). (Can't believe someone mentioned Brick Alley!) Left in "84 for Missouri, but my heart is still in the Mon Valley. There are so many more things that could be on the quiz, you'll have to do another one!

Does anyone miss the Original Oyster House for fish sandwiches and buttermilk? Who remembers what Bob Prince meant when he called for a "bloop & a blast" or "we need a hoover"? Anyone know where China Wall is? How about the great DJs, TL, Chuck Brinkman (now in Texas), Porky Chedwick?

Thanks to whoever put this together and all who commented for the wonnerful memories!

  • Left Pittsburgh area in 61. Get the Steeler Digest and cheering on THE STEELERS when they come to Raven's Stadium.

I keep telling my wife all about Kennywood and all the great school trips that I've had there. She wants to go. She surprized me with tickets to a Steeler game with the Saints. Stayed there at the Point and was able to walk over the bridge to the game. Had a great time! Got 100 on quiz. HERE WE GO STEELERS !

  • Baldwin HS'68; left in '71. Still got 100 w/2 guesses! Always easy to recognize that western PA accent; and enjoy saying that's where I'm from too..wish I had stayed a little longer. Thanks to all for reminding me of things forgotten, Isleys, Kennywood, chipped ham... Quiz made me realize I need to take my college kids for a visit soon to show them where I grew up.

  • I knew I would be 100% Pittsburgh. I have lived in Atlanta for 20+ years and still slip back into Pittsburghese when I'm with others from the 'Burgh. I get homesick when I watch Flashdance or Striking Distance, and there is no better music venue than the Syria Mosque (why didn't you guys save it - they saved the Fox Theater here. Jag offs). George Ford PITT '76 & '80, Eliz. Fwd. '72.
