  1. First off, I'd like to apologize for that last edition. I really wanted to get it out that night and ended up half asleep by the time I finished. This one probably isn't a whole lot better, but I should probably just get to the story now.
  2. *Recap* Last time you took the Hogwarts Express to Hogwarts. Towards the end of the ride, the train suddenly stopped and you were hit with a falling trunk. You stumbled into a Gryffindor compartment, where a dementor came and basically knocked you unconscious again. Harry helped you to a carriage once you finally arrived in Hogsmeade. All clear?
  3. I stepped into the carriage, completely exhausted. "Are you all right?" a voice asked in a surprised tone. I looked up to see Oliver Wood, the boy from Quidditch Quality Supplies. He was sitting directly across from me, eyes wide. No one else was in the carriage. I probably looked terrible right then. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine," I said, giving him a small smile. "Cassandra, isn't it?" he asked. I nodded. "What happened to you?" he asked in concern, obviously not convinced that I was okay. "Oh, just a bad incident with a trunk," I said casually, letting out a faint laugh. He cracked a small smile. "You ought to see Madam Pomfrey; she specializes in head injuries. I should know with all of those bludger hits," he said, grinning and scratching the back of his head as if remembering the pain. I couldn't help but let out a small giggle. He launched into a detailed description of his many Quidditch injuries, and I gazed off distractedly, hoping to get to the castle soon. Oliver was nice enough company, but I couldn't help but long to get to a nice, comfy bed.
  4. We arrived at the castle soon enough, and Oliver helped me down from the carriage. "I'll take you to Madam Pomfrey, if you want," he offered as my feet touched the ground. I opened my mouth to answer when Professor Flitwick approached. "Cassandra, er, Miss Levell, please come with me," he said, and then looked up at my face. "Oh dear, what have you been doing lately?" he asked, his squeaky voice taking on an alarmed tone at the sight of my appearance. "Excuse us, Mister Wood, we must get Miss Levell to the hospital wing immediately," he said, escorting me away. I shot an apologetic glance at Oliver before I was whisked into the castle. I could have sworn he looked disappointed, but it must have been my imagination.
  5. Professor Flitwick led me down a corridor at a brisk pace. "Is there something you wanted to tell me, professor?" I asked, fighting to keep up with him despite my longer stride. "Ah, yes. I've noticed you've signed up for every subject on the list this year. It didn't work out normally in your timetable, so Professor McGonagall have been working with the Ministry for a solution over the summer," he said excitedly, pulling out a fine gold chain out of his pocket. It had a tiny hourglass on it. "This is a time turner. Each time you turn the hourglass, you can go back an hour in time. Of course, you cannot tell anyone you have it nor let anyone see you use it. It is only to be used to get to your classes, which means no going back to fix any personal problems. Of course, I've assured the Ministry you wouldn't do anything of the sort," he finished, smiling fondly at me. We had arrived at the doors to the hospital. "Recover quickly. I expect to see you in class soon!" Professor Flitwick said, pressing the time turner into my hand and heading back down the corridor. I looked at my new possession, still a little surprised at the information I had just received.
  6. I entered the hospital wing, and Madam Pomfrey came flying out of her office, muttering angrily about dementors at Hogwarts. She assigned me a bed and bustled off to find an assortment of potions. She returned, forced a goblet of some substance down my throat, and I quickly drifted off to sleep, finally submitting to my exhaustion.
  7. I woke up to a lot of commotion the next morning. Hagrid, the Hogwarts gamekeeper, was speaking in panicky tones, but it was so garbled I couldn't tell what he was saying. "Now Rubeus, he'll be all right. Go out into the corridor, I have patients here," Madam Pomfrey said gently but firmly, and I heard Hagrid's heavy footsteps fade from the room. I looked over to the bed next to me. A white-blond head was peeking out from a crumpled mass of robes. It was Draco Malfoy, and from what I could see, his arm was bleeding heavily. Madam Pomfrey ran around the room, snatching up various items. After a while, Pansy Parkinson, a third year Slytherin, burst into the room, on the verge of tears. "Draco!" she cried, running over to him. I rolled my eyes and covered my head with a pillow. The last thing I wanted to do was listen to Pansy simper for an hour.
  8. Luckily, Madam Pomfrey made her leave soon. Draco was forced to take a sleeping potion and it was soon quiet again. I judged it was probably late afternoon, and my stomach began to rumble hungrily. The door opened and Cedric stepped into the room. He stopped a few feet from my bed. "I just wanted to see if you were all right. That was a pretty hard hit you took," he said. "I'm fine. Just starving," I said, smiling slightly. He reached into his schoolbag and pulled out a Chocolate Frog box. He tossed it to me. "Here, I was going to give this to you anyway. I have to get back to class, so I'll see you around later," he said, waving and leaving the room.
  9. Padma came by that night as well and dropped off my books and new assignments. Just as Professor Flitwick had said, many of my classes on my schedule were doubled. I fell asleep in the middle of reading the Ancient Runes book. I heard a faint clinking sound just by my head, and I returned to consciousness. I opened my eyes to see Neville placing a small vase of flowers on my nightstand. "Hi, Neville," I said, a little surprised to see him there of all people. He promptly dropped the vase at the sound of my voice. "Sorry!" I apologized immediately, sitting up to help. He pulled out his wand. "R-repario! Reoparo!" he stammered, going red as each attempt failed. I pulled out my wand as well. "Reparo!" I said, and the vase replaced itself on the nightstand, perfectly whole again. Neville scrambled to pick up the flowers and put them back in the vase. "Well, I, uh, I'd better get to class!" he said nervously, about to run out of the room. I didn't think classes took place that late, but I wasn't about to mortify him any more than he already was. "Neville," I said, and he stopped and turned around. "Thank you," I said genuinely, touched by his gift. He blushed, nodded, and left the room.
  10. I watched as he ran out the door, disappointed that he hadn't stayed. It was extremely dull in the hospital wing. I picked up my abandoned Ancient Runes book and started reading again. I heard a moan come from Draco's bed. He sat up, clutching his bandaged arm. "Bloody chicken," he muttered irritably. "Chicken?" I asked curiously. "Hippogriff," he amended, looking over at me. I had heard of them before; half eagle, half horse. I thought back to Hagrid's panicked arrival at the hospital, and started wondering exactly what kind of creatures he had been keeping that summer. He seemed to have an odd fascination with dangerous creatures. "So what did you do to land in here?" I asked, inevitably drawn to hearing his story. "Bloody chicken attacked me. Nearly cut my arm off," he said bitterly, obviously not in the mood for a long conversation. I settled back into bed, losing interest. "So what did you do?" Draco asked. "I had a fight with some luggage. The luggage won," I said shortly. He smirked, and somehow we both ended up laughing. Madam Pomfrey stuck her head out of her office. "Lights out!" she called, and that was the end of that.
  11. The next morning I was released from the hospital and I arrived at the Great Hall just in time for breakfast. I got a few welcoming greetings from my fellow Ravenclaws, but for the most part, my arrival went unnoticed. It looked like life at Hogwarts was back to normal. Or maybe not.
  12. *music826* Okay, that's all I have. Wow, I've only just gotten back to Hogwarts. I really need to start speeding things up. Just a quick question. I have a lot of those, don't I? Anyway, I want to know if anyone actually cares about the results. They're kind of a hassle to make, and it seems pointless if no one cares about them. Well, until next time.
