“You have a curfew?” Lavender raised an eyebrow. “You skip all of your lessons just for fun, but you follow a 7 pm curfew?” She giggled.

Maeve grinned. ‘Of course I do! You don’t?’ she asked, giggling. ‘Love you~’

Lavender grinned. She noticed a light pink mark on Maeve’s cheek. It was a lipstick stain. Her smile faltered slightly. s---.

Maeve grabbed her hands and pecked her nose. ‘Cya!’

lavender let her leave, still thinking about the lipstick. what if she had lipstick marks on her face as well? everyone would know that a girl kissed her, and it wouldnt be hard to guess which girl...

Maeve teleported away, back to the castle. She walked down the hall and looked at herself in a mirror in her room, and immediately paled. A lipstick mark on her cheek. She wiped it off and had to pray that nobody but Lavender had seen it.

Lavender kept thinking about that stupid lipstick mark as she went to bed. The press would have a field day about that if they ever found out….

The next day, Maeve immediately teleported to Lavender’s house, hair unkempt and still in her nightgown.

Lavender was reading a book, curled up on her bed. She looked up at maeve, standing up. “Hi.”

‘Hello,’ Maeve said, standing in front of her. ‘Did you see the lippy stain on my face yesterday?’

Lavender nodded. “I-I’m so sorry. I’ll make sure that never happens again. I’ll be extra careful from now on, I promise.” She looked at her anxiously, not sure what she’d say next.

Maeve faltered, fidgeting with her hands. ‘I don’t mind, really. How long was it there for?’

“I don’t know how long.” Lavender admitted. “By the time I noticed it, you were leaving.” She knew maeve did mind. She had to be more attentive. It wasn’t far to maeve.

‘Okay…’ Maeve sighed, running her hand through her hair. ‘I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if anybody noticed,’ she mumbled. In another circumstance, she would have gotten flustered, giggled at the sight of Lavender’s lippy mark on her cheek. But it could been horrid for a princess to go around wearing such a thing.
