Jayden smiled, turning to Jordan. She was acting strange, but he brushed it off as nothing since they hadn’t seen each other for so long.
-
Jordan danced with Jayden, beaming. ‘I love your suit,’ she said. ‘I didn’t think green would look so good on you.’
Chester kept one hand on Jayden’s back, just to make sure he didn’t lose him. He glanced around, eyes falling on the figure. His mother, dripping with blood, glass and diamonds piercing her skin. Her left arm was cut off. Chester faltered. -
“Thanks.” Jayden grinned. “I love your dress. It fits you perfectly.” It was a well draped red dress with a white feather boa on her shoulders. He noticed Chester pause. He turned around, noticing his fear. “Chester?”
-
Chester looked at him, giving a slightly bewildered smile. ‘Yes, love?’
Jordan grabbed his chin and tilted his head back to her. ‘C’mon, Jay, stop worrying! This is your day, let loose~’ -
“Okay okay, just give me a minute.” Jayden turned back to Chester. “Please tell me what’s wrong. Is there someone I need to know about that’s here?”
-
‘No, nobody’s here,’ Chester said. From the corner of his eye he saw something golden fall. He snapped his head towards it. Nothing. His eyes fell back on his hallucination of his mother and his grip on Jayden tightened. He didn’t want to freak Jayden out.
-
Jayden cupped his cheek in his hand. “Chester. I can’t help if I don’t know what’s wrong.”
-
‘I don’t need your help, I can figure it out,’ Chester said, leaning into his touch. ‘I-I’m not a helpless puppy, I’ll be fine,’
-
“You’re not a helpless puppy, but you’re my boyfriend, and I want to help you if you’d let me.”
-
Chester rested his hand on Jayden’s, shutting his eyes tight. ‘I keep seeing things,’ he said quietly, then opened his eyes to look at him. ‘Things that aren’t real.’
-
Jayden frowned. “What things?”
-
‘M-My parents. And Astrid before in the hallway,’ Chester mumbled. He didn’t tell Jayden about the gore, mainly because he just couldn’t say it out loud.
-
Jayden frowned. “Cmon, let’s get out of here.”
-
‘I don’t want to ruin this,’ Chester said, grabbing his hands. ‘I’ll go. You stay and have fun.’
-
“I don’t want to leave you alone” Jayden frowned.
