“Does it have any pictures?” Aster wasn’t going to read over their shoulder, but if there were any pictures of modern art, he was going to look at it.
-
Atlas flipped to the next page and showed him an abstract art piece.
-
Aster looked at the art piece. “Woah.” He wasn’t the biggest fan of abstract work, but he still liked them, especially if he knew the story behind the art. “What’s it about?”
-
‘Iunno. It was made by a woman in an old “woman in art” movement, a group of like 6 modernist artists,’ Atlas said. Chester ran his hand through Jayden’s hair.
-
“Cool.” Aster smiled. Jayden leaned into him.
-
‘It’s supposed to be a commentary about society,’ Atlas said, looking down at their book.
Chester smiled and looked at the book too. ‘I’ve never understood abstract art.’
‘You’re never understood any art.’
‘I’m not the hippie type.’
‘Art is not hippieish!’ -
Aster glared. “Art is for anyone interested in empathy or having a soul. It’s not hippieish!”
-
‘Yeah, Chester!’ Atlas said.
‘Okay, okay, jeez.’ -
Aster stuck his tongue out.
-
Chester rolled his eyes and pulled Jayden closer.
-
Aster leaned into him.
-
Chester smiled, running his hand through his hair.
(Ts to when they’re at the palace?) -
Jayden leaned into him, smiling.
(Sure lol) -
They got to the palace that evening, a bit before dinner. Atlas was half asleep, leaning against the back of the carriage. Chester had started reading the art history book, holding Jayden close.
-
Aster was fully asleep, leaning into Atlas slightly. Jayden was snuggled into Chester
