"What? Yeah, yeah I'm fine." It was a lie. I felt strange. I knew it had something to do with this Nate, something I didn't like.

"Okay, if you say so." I could tell he wasn't okay, but I had a feeling he wasn't going to tell me.

I saw a run down old house ahead. "Is that it?" I was desperate to take my mind off this feeling.

"Maybe it is!" I pick up my pace, trying to see anyone inside the building.

I match her pace.

I look into one of the windows. For a minute I can't see anything, but then I see two people sitting at a table. I can't see their faces, they just look like blobs because of all the muck on the window.

"See anything?" I whisper.

"There are two people in there." I go over to the door. "Should we give it a shot?"

I bit my lip, then nodded.

I knocked once, then again when there was no answer. Then the door opened a crack, a young girl's face came out. "What are you doing here?" she asks.

"We're looking for a place to stay for a while."

Girl: "Hm, okay, come in." She opens up the door.
Juliet: I look at Jerry, then shrug my shoulders and walk in.
