I couldn't nswer, because he was right. I would have just made it worse if something happened to me.

I continued running in silence. I tried not to think about her getting hurt, the very idea of it made me feel sick.

"I'm sorry."

I shook my head. "It's alright."

I felt like an idiot for not listening to him, but at least he was safe. "How's your shoulder?"

"I think it's dislocated, but I'll be fine."

"Oh." I look over at him, and I can see the pain in his face.

I try to hide the pain, try to be strong for Juliet. After all, I've been through much worse.

I keep running, and I try to imagine how I'm going to get Jerry to a doctor. I know that his shoulder is hurt bad enough for it to need to be fixed.

"I think we lost him." My shoulder is burning, but I hide it just like I hide all my wounds all my life.

I look back, and I don't see him. "Yah." I slow down, and look back over at Jerry. "Are you sure your shoulder is okay?"

"It's fine," I lie.

I sigh. "Fine, but I don't want you using it to much."

I nodded. "I've had worse, trust me."
