"Oh..." I suddenly feel bad for prying into her past, but I just wanted to know why Nate acted the way he did.

I half smiled, but frowned over my shoulder. He was still there somewhere, we hadn't seen the last of him...

Nate: I sat against the tree, still watching, but also thinking about how I was going to get Juliet. I heard people walking and talking again, so I moved so that they wouldn't see me.
Headmaster: I walked down the trail next to the boy's father. We saw them go down here, but we hadn't seen them since then. -
We walked farther and farther away from this dreadful place, towards safety.

Every few seconds, I would look behind us, and check to see if Nate was there.
Nate: I almost screamed when I saw the headmaster. I kept as quiet as I could, and shrunk back against the tree. -
I squeezed her hand, as if to confirm that she was still here.

I smiled up at him, sqeezing his hand back.
Jerry's Dad: "I'm tired of all this walking." -
I shivered. My father's angered face still in my head.

Nate: I wondered who the guy next to the headmaster was
[i]Headmaster: I see them, walking down the trail.
Jerry's Dad: I see them, and move into the shadows of the trees. -
"How far is it to the park?"

"I think it's about half a mile. Not to far."
Jerry's Dad: I snake up between the trees toward them, staying focused on getting Jerry. -
"That's good, I'm ready for a break."
