I hesitated for a second, then kept going. "B-but, I can't just leave you!" I lost them for a second when they took a turn, then went back after them when I saw him again.

"Get outta here!"

I went a little slower. "I can't let you go..." A tear went down my cheek- I couldn't decide whether or not I should go.

"Go! I'll be okay!"

I slowly come to a stop, watching him go. I shake as I say, "I love you." Then turn around, running towards the city.

Once she's gone, I focus on getting away from my father. I manage to kick his face, which stuns him, and I escape his grasp. I run, but he's hot on my tail. "Jerry! You get back here now!"

When I hear his father yell for him to come back, I turn back around. "Jerry!? Where are you!?"

"Go!" I shout to her. My father grabs my collar and yanks me backward. I slam my fists into his face, stomach, wherever I can reach. His grip loosens but I can't escape.

I see him struggling against his father, and I run over, trying to tug his collar out of his father's grasp.

"Juliet! Get out of here!"

I shove my elbow into his father's face, forcing him to let go. "Come on!" I told Jerry, helping him up. I felt like hugging him, but I knew that could wait till later.

I grabbed her hand and ran. "I told you to run!"

"I couldn't leave you there when I knew I could help."

"Well you should've. You could've gotten hurt."

"But I didn't."
