Derricks dad sighed. "Well ok then." he said.
Derrick just raised an eyebrow. Was that really all? -
They started discussing it, and eventually came to a decision.
Evelyn looked at Derrick. -
Derrick smiled as he locked eyes with Evelyn.

She seemed a little concerned, but smiled anyway.

He bit his lip and looked away shyly.

Realize her father could probably see and wouldn't like it, she let go of his hand reluctantly.

Derrick's heart sank a little when she let go of his hand.

The two fathers decided. "You two ready to go?" Evelyn's father asked them.

Derrick nodded. "Yeah. We're ready."

"Great. I'll drive," her father headed out to his car. She followed quietly.

Derrick trailed behind them. "Cmon son." his dad said, putting his hand on Derricks back.

She got in the back seat, waiting for Derrick.

Derrick slowly climbed in, sighing as he settled down.

She looked at him, smiling a bit. Her father got into the driver's seat in front of her and started the car.

He smiled back, but looked down.
