She blushed a bit again.

"Just out of curiosity, does your father do anything else?" Derrick asked.

"Other than lecturing at universities? Hmm... he's been called a few times to Europe when they need help with something in his field... Last time was a few years ago. It was pretty fun, actually." Her eyebrows knitted together as she tried to remember if he did anything else.

"Wow. That's cool." He said, raising his eyebrows.

She shrugged. "Yeah, I guess. Next time you should come with us."

"Maybe." He said.

She smiled. "We usually take a day or two afterward to see wherever we're staying."

"Ah." Derrick nodded.

Her tail flicked against the bed, bored.
Downstairs, Derrick's father yelled up to them. "Derrick! Evelyn!" -
He looked up, then reluctantly got up. "Cmon," he held out his hand.

She took his hand, following him.
Downstairs, the two men were waiting. -
"Yeah dad?" he asked, running a hand through his hair.

"We were getting ready to head out for dinner and wondered if you two had any say on where we went," Derrick's father said.

"I don't really care. You?" he turned to her.

She shrugged. "Whatever you guys want."
