Complicated Difference Part 46

So, the story of your life: no more school; you share a house with cute guys who all like you, help you, and want to keep you safe; and, of course, there are plenty of powers to make it all interesting.

What happened last: You view an opening to a large room. You look around at the random but pretty items spread across the area. The large white doors on the other side begin to swing open...

  1. They reveal a group of seven people. Two tiny men walk in together, in front of the rest, with their arms linked. They're bald and covered in tribal-like tattoos, wearing only trousers and nothing else. You aren't completely sure of what their powers are; however, it is quite obvious that they're a team and whoever faces one also gets the other.
  2. The person who came in after them was a very tall man with the longest hair you've ever seen. He was muscular and was wearing an all-white outfit, which you thought was rather cocky, as if he figured he wouldn't get a single stain on himself. He flashed a gleaming-white, arrogant smile at you as he came through the doorway and stood off to the side.
  3. The fourth person to walk in was a rather scrawny-looking man. He was very skinny and looked like he had no muscle at all. He had huge glasses, a button-up shirt with something in the chest pocket, and a pair of jeans that seemed too short. You wanted to chuckle at how much he seemed like the stereotypical nerd, but felt like the timing was a bit inappropriate, especially when it seemed like hair-guy wanted to make a meal of you already.
  4. The fifth person to step into the room was a small boy whose eyes were glowing red. His stern expression was intimidating and there was a power about him that seemed absolutely frightening. His hair was dark and his skin was pale. He gave a menacing glance to each of you and then stood next to the nerdy one.
  5. Then there was the sixth person... your heart began racing and your mouth gaped open. You abruptly fixed your expression so you didn't give the wrong impression. You weren't going to back down because of this one person standing there... it only made you more determined to be successful. Even though you felt, deep down, that something was strange for so long, you still feel a pain in your chest as you look upon that face. You feel that sense of betrayal, that deep hole punctured into your beating heart. Your hand was already clutching onto your sword subconsciously, but now you grasp it tighter, wishing you could spring forth and attack because of the horrific pain this person has just caused you. Your so-called best friend walking through that doorway and standing with the enemies, apathetic when it comes to your well-being. Kayla gave you a hard look and then shifted her focus onto the door.
  6. Here came one last person, which you already figured out who it would be. Just the thought of this woman made you completely livid. Your thoughts flew with bloodlust, wishing you could get your chance at her before she even entered the room. Upon her walking in, you could hardly control yourself. You felt like a vicious animal waiting to attack its prey. Every part of your body was screaming for action, desiring to run over there and cut her into pieces, to get revenge for your mother's death. Elisa noticed your angry expression and gave a slight smile. You went to lunge forward as Paul lowered your emotions, knowing you needed to save that anger for a better opportunity, since attacking her right this moment would prove dangerous.
  7. "I figured this day was coming at some point," Elisa said aloud to everyone, "I'll apologize now for our permanent goodbye... it is indeed so nice to see you here, living. However, it will be much nicer to see you lying on the floor, just messes for my personal cleaners to take care of later." At this, everyone lunged at each other with incredible force.
  8. Hair-guy decided to fight Adam. As Adam changed into his were-tiger self, he already knew what he was up against. This guy showed his special ability... he became a werewolf. The ultimate match would end in death, and possibly leave the winner in very poor health. They circled each other, slowly studying the animal they are facing. They finally leaped into a gruesome fight, snarling and ripping at each other's bodies. You can only hope that Adam is the one left standing.
  9. The two small men chose Paul as their opponent. You weren't sure of their powers, but still thought them to be stupid for choosing Paul. Though, they turned out to be more difficult to attack than what would have been assumed previously. Paul withdrew his long, sharp sword and looked at the two of them eagerly. The two men began teleporting all around him, and their slight touch left a jolt of electricity. If they held their hands onto him long enough, they could get a current so strong to run through his body that he could die within seconds. Paul needed to be quick and careful in this fight, though when was he not? His counter-attacks with his sword were agile, his telepathy could slightly understand where they were teleporting to, and his empathy messed with their emotions. This match was yet another chaotic one that you could only hope for the best outcome.
  10. The nerdy guy ran over to Erik. You weren't sure whether that should make you nervous or confident, since his powers are unknown so far. Erik readied himself, concentrating on what he would have to do and the strength it would take. Suddenly, the guy shot flames from his hands, so close to Erik's head that he could feel the heat against his skin. He could tell the guy was preparing to do it again, with better aim, and Erik raised a piece of the ground in between them to shield from the scorching flames. You had no time to watch the rest of this fight, either, as your own issues began.
  11. You looked in front of you and there was Kayla. "My mother murdered your mother," she said, "So, like, I'm totally going to kill you, too. Easily." You withdrew your sword and studied her. You went to attack but she initiated a force field so strong your sword couldn't swing through. You also couldn't step into it and it made you wonder how you'd get to her. You see something green sliding toward you and it latches onto your ankle, knocking you off your feet unexpectedly. It's a green plant and you're violently slashing it, trying to get it off of you. "˜Plant powers... who would've guessed...' you thought sarcastically. Finally, you broke free, though you see other plants sliding toward you, trying to grab onto you in any way possible. After cutting them nonstop, you form an idea in your mind. You can't walk into the force field... but you have powers, too, and it's time you let her see them. You focus on the energy you have and turn yourself invisible, confusing Kayla and keeping the plants from attaching to you. Then, you concentrate even more, this time on that force field. Within seconds you're inside and standing right behind her. You release your energy, allowing yourself to be visible, and say, "Are you sure it's that easy?" before you glide your sword through her neck, severing her head and ending the battle. The force field dies along with every plant in the vast room.
  12. You glance over and see your worst enemy, already fighting against your father. She has her hands raised in the air and her eyes closed, while random objects around them seem to come to life. The suits of armor that were located in the room had to be the worst objects possible for her powers to corrupt. So far, only one moved, and as you looked over there for the first time, you caught the exact moment that the suit's sword cut deeply into your father's leg before he crushed the suit with his hands. He stumbled backward and fell onto the floor in immense agony. You ran to him and Elisa noticed, placing a new focus onto you.
  13. During this, the young boy was fighting against Wesley. His bright red eyes are so mesmerizing and terrifying at the same time. He stares at Wesley and then looks to the ground, bright red beams shooting from his eyes and leaving black marks on the floor... a warning to Wesley about what he's capable of. The intimidation doesn't work. Wesley uses his telekinesis to toss something toward the boy but his powers disintegrated the object before it made contact with him. The boy looked directly at Wesley and you could slightly see the brightness in his eyes increasing as he was building up energy. Wesley realized this and needed to act quickly. At the last second, he used his power to grab onto a mirror and throw it in front of himself as the boy released the beams. They left marks on the mirror, but still reflected back into his eyes enough to cause major irritation and distract him. He held his hands over his eyes and screamed in pain. This gave Wesley the moment he needed to grab onto something and impale it into his opponent. The boy was defeated and Wesley rushed to your father and began healing the wound on his leg.
  14. Elisa says to you, "At last, I get to put you in your grave as well. I have heard you are powerful for being new to this, and that you have plenty of potential. It's too bad you won't join me, because now I have to put your powers to waste." Three suits came alive and walked toward you, holding up their sharp blades. You weren't sure how you would kill something that wasn't truly living, but you were determined to try. Your blood-stained sword clashed against the first suit's, as the other two went to each side of you, ready to plunge their blades into your body. You noticed what was happening and teleported behind the first suit, letting the other two give each other a fatal stab. Your sword again clashed against the first suit's sword and you continued to fight for what felt like ages. You were not giving up. You began teleporting around it, confusing it while getting some hits in. You sliced its dominant arm off, the arm and sword clanging onto the hard floor. This is when you beheaded the metal suit of armor and finally put it to rest. It was no time for celebrating, as Elisa was still living. Other objects around you began to attack. You kept teleporting away from them and turning invisible, anything to attempt at getting them off of you and getting you closer to the one you truly want to kill. The closer you get to Elisa, the more objects appear to attack you. You have to go through groups of them, heart beating faster with each round. You attack the ones closest to her and this sounds an alarm in her head. Her expression portrays how surprised she is that you have made it so far and that there's actually a possibility of you reaching her. You know you can't spare a second to let her get away or allow her to injure you somehow. As soon as you kill the last object, you continue to swing the sword all the way around until you behead Elisa, getting a dagger to the side as you defeat her.
  15. You collapse onto the floor, bloody piles all around you. You look over to see that every fight is over... and you stare, trying to make sure that the results are positive. Wesley heals your side, and your dad is nearby, as you see Erik walking toward the three of you. He falls next to you out of exhaustion, though his health is perfectly fine. Earth must have defeated fire in this round.
  16. You see the shape of another person; the sight of long, black hair gives you hope that it's Paul. He turns to face you and the ice blue eyes bring reassurance. He's also exhausted and sore, but he will be okay.
  17. You keep waiting for Adam... but you don't see anything. Your leg is healed, though still sore for the time being. This doesn't stop you from jogging over to where his battle was taking place. Both animals were lying on the ground, bleeding, and beginning to turn back into their human forms. The wolf was closest to you, but you could tell he wasn't breathing... this gave you some hope that Adam was the winner... if there was a winner at all.
  18. You rush over to Adam, kneeling beside him. He's still breathing. It's faint, but he's still alive. You yell for Wesley to come help and he runs to you. Kneeling next to you, he places his hands above Adam and the blue light fills the space between. The injuries start to fade and his breathing increases. He opens his eyes and looks at you, giving that giant grin that you thought you'd never be able to see again.
  19. After everyone is healed and ready to go, all of you head back to L'endroit Magique and report to HQ. Marly, Tran, Sylva, and Darma were all in the HQ office waiting to hold an important meeting with the group. They expressed how nice it was to see your father once again, and how grateful they were to each of you for defeating the evil side of this secret world. Your group instantly became famous among everyone who was part of or knew of the supernatural side of the world.
  20. After you leave HQ, [_______] asks if you'd take a walk with him. You agree with a huge smile and he holds your hand as he leads you to the waterfall near the mansion. The two of you sit near the edge of the pond, your head on his shoulder. [_______] put his arm around you and said, "I figured this was a wonderful place to take you... it's so pretty and relaxing. Though, it's not nearly as amazing when you aren't by my side. You seem to make everything in my life so much better... even near-death experiences." The two of you laughed at the last part, and overall you couldn't have felt happier. [_______] tilted your head up to give you a long, gentle kiss and you could feel him start to smile. You stay there until sunset. [_______] mentions that the two of you should probably head back before it gets dark out, so both of you stand up. "Wait... there's something I wanted to say," he quietly mentions, looking into your eyes. You're eager to hear it and you wait patiently. With the raging waterfall and the beautiful sunset around the two of you, he puts his hand in his pocket and pulls a small box out... kneeling to the ground, he says, "________, will you marry me?"
