  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. The sky is never blue here, but more of a grayish-green color. It was blue once, and just once. I can still remember that beautiful shade of blue glistening in the sky. It seemed to give off a certain peace, or hope. It came the first day he came. And just as soon as it came, it went, as he did. I still remember that day, the one day the ocean was actually blue. They say it used to be blue all the time; but that was a long time ago. Even now, I remember it like it was yesterday. I was walking home from school, the wind blowing through my hair. My hair was straight as an arrow then, blonde as a blonde brownie. In my junior year of high school, I usually walked home from school everyday, because mom always worked later in the day. She worked at a local pet store on Fellmore Street, next door to the new Ralph's. I used to go there when her shift was over, and we would walk the dogs. Adorable dogs they were, they were short, they had the tiniest paws imaginable, and their tails seemed like they never stopped wagging. They were chihuahuas. I begged mom every day for one of those pups. But Bobby, my older brother was allergic. Even though my mom would tell me to wash my hands, I would purposely get dog hair all over them to make Bobby sneeze. I can still hear him saying, "Bree, achoo! Were you with those dogs again?" I would laugh so hard, until mom found out and made me Febreeze the whole house. I remember all of these things so well, but none as well as him.
  2. The first day I saw him I was in chemistry class, listening to Mr. Dabkins go on, and on, pretending to listen but not actually paying attention. He just seemed to slip in, unnoticed, and he sat next to me. At first, I didn't notice him. But having nothing to do, I leaned over about to fall asleep, and bumped into him. "Oh my gosh!" I yelled. Suddenly, I, who wasn't paying any attention in class, had all eyes on me. "Miss Raven," Mr. Dabkins said giving me an annoyed look as if I didn't just save the whole class from dying of boredom. "Do you find the topic of irregular cardiovascular rhythm interesting?" "The what?" I asked still unsure about what was going on. "He means irregular heartbeats." Someone whispered into my ear. I was not aware that this boy was sitting next to me, bumping into him just shocked me so badly. Finally I got what he was saying. "Oh, yes, Mr. Dabkins. It's very interesting." "I thought so." he said. He looked away rather quickly after he pushed his glasses up onto his nose. Then he realized that there was a strange character sitting next to me. "Excuse me, but who are you?" Mr. Dabkins said. It sounded like his nose was plugged. The next moment everyone was more shocked than when I caused the big commotion minutes before. "Richard Maliak." The name was strange enough, but the accent! "Are you the new exchange student?" He scoffed, "You could say that." Mr. Dabkins put down then Expo marker and asked, "What part of Great Britain are you from?" "Great Britain? I'm not from England." "Are you pulling my leg? Ireland? Scotland? Australia?" "No, no, and interesting. I wonder what it's like to be an Aussie." He had a certain, "tone". Like he was used to people disappointing him."Mr. Maliak, where exactly are you from?" "You really wanna know?" Mr. Dabkins had a very frustrated look on his face. "Krypton." He said, as though it were some sort of joke.
  3. The whole class burst out in laughter just as the bell rang. A few of the girls checked him out as they left the room. He was pretty tall, about 6'4". He had jet black hair and eyes the color of the bluest sky, which had come for the first time when he came. He wore a leather jacket, and looked like he was stuck in the 50s. He had a very set facial bone structure, and a dimple on his right cheek. He was very handsome, the kind of guy you'd see playing the heart-throb on one of those teen gossip shows. I was still sitting on my stool, even after the bell rang. "You getting up?" He asked me, like he needed me to leave before he could. I didn't even say anything, I just grabbed my stuff, got up, and left. I walked to my locker, it was between Ronnie Myers and Samantha Quincy. The two most popular people in school. Samantha was a cheerleader on the varsity squad and dating the quarterback on the football team. Ronnie was popular too, but not for a good reason. He was known for getting the wedgies and noogies and being an open target for every bully at Coastal Palm High. "Brianna dear, would you be so kind to hand me my geometry book?" Samantha asked me as pointed her long fingernail towards the book lying on the floor. Her neon pick nail polish was giving me a headache. I grabbed the book, and as I went to hand it to her, she dumped her low-fat strawberry smoothie from Jamba Juice all over me. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry! That was a total accident." Everyone around me was pointing and laughing.
  4. I looked down at the sticky pink liquid oozing down my shirt. "Oh, it's alright, Samantha." I said as I reached into my locker and grabbed a half drunken Dr. Pepper. I poured it on top of her perfectly powdered face. "Ahhh!!!" she screamed. Anyone who had looked away was looking again. "Carbs! How dare you!" "Sorry," I say. "It was an accident." She slammed her locker and stormed off down the hallway to the bathroom. It was so silent you could hear Samantha's heals click-clacking all the way down the hall. After they were heard no more, Principal Jacobs stormed out of his office. "What's going on out here?" i grab my books and close my locker. "Nothing, Principal Jacobs. You can go back to fantasizing about prostitutes in Play Boy magazines."
  5. There was a loud gasp from Mrs. Howard, the guidance councilor, who might I say is married, and not to him. "Harold! I thought I was the one who makes you feel fuzzy on the inside! I though you loved me! I cheated on my husband for you?! Ugh!" She stormed off to the place that all ladies go to get away from men, the bathroom. "Lilian! Wait!" Principal Jacobs tried to run after her, but he was too slow from the fat on his stomach. Suddenly someone couldn't hold it in anymore. Next you hear a burst of laughter, which makes everyone else laugh. I grabbed my books, closed my locker, and left down the hall to my next class acting like nothing happened. Then I heard someone behind me. "Is this sort of thing normal for you..." he paused, like he was waiting for the right word. "Students?" "As long as Samantha Quincy is at this school, anything could happen." I say laughing a little. I walked into Geometry and took my seat. He sat next to me.
  6. "Are you okay?" I asked him with a confused look on my face. "Actually, I would quote enjoy a smoke, but I'm fine. Why?" I studied his face for a minute. "You're so strange," I say, meaning just to think it, not to say it. He laughed, as if he agreed. "You don't even know me." "That's my point. You sat next to me before in chemistry, and now your sitting with me again. You totally confused our teacher, which was pretty funny by the way. But that's not the point. I know your 'new' to this school and all, but I'm not very popular, so I don't know why you're hanging out with me. And your dressed like you're from the 50s." "What," he said taking his comb out if his leather jacket and combing it across his hair. "You don't like it?" Maybe if I was a girl in 1955." He took a small piece of his hair and placed it in the front. It curled up. He kind of looked like Superman.
  7. He then took a cigarette and lighter out of his pocket. "What are you doing?" "What?" he asked. He was about to light it when I hit the lighter out of his hand. "Bloody hell! What wad that for?" he said with the cigarette in his mouth. "You can't smoke in here! You'll get suspended!" Not to mention that more students were coming in now. "Blast it!" he said throwing the cigarette down. "Stupid a** school alright." "You know, maybe you should light it. Then you'll get to leave." he laughed a little. "You're quite cheeky, aren't you?" "I suppose I am quite cheeky," I say in a British accent mimicking him. After another boring class, besides talking to Richard, I went to my locker to put my books away.
  8. I tried to be as quick as possible, so I had no chance whatsoever of running into Samantha. I decided to spend my free period in the library. I heard reading helps prevent altzeimers. I picked a book called, "Will Superman Save Us?" It's about Poverty and hunger in our world. It's more of a documentary than fiction like the actual Superman. "Superman?" I looked up. Richard. "Are you like a stalker or something?" I asked him."I didn't know you liked superheroes." "You don't know a lot about me. Why do you keep following me around?" "I just thought you would enjoy some company." "Well I'm fine, thank you." I said I as I pretend like I'm reading my book. "Well if you need a hero, let me know and I'll come back." He winks and clicks his tongue. I just roll my eyes as he walks away. I heard the bell ring so I picked up my things and headed outside.
  9. Finally. I thought to myself. Lunch. I sat down on one of the benches outside, unaware of who was sitting next to me. I was pulling my pb&j sandwich out of my bag when I heard a scream. Everyone looked up and around for who could have screamed. Then it happened again. Suddenly the guy who was next to me stood up rather quickly. It was Richard. Of course it was him. "Where are you going?" "Someone's in trouble." he said. "Um, yeah? That's why we should just call the police. It's better not to get involved." He looked at me. "Sorry, but I can't afford that. Someone needs a hero." "I'm not sure you're the kind of hero they had in mind." He looked back at me one more time then hide behind some bushes and I couldn't see him anymore. "Help!" the same girl cried. Just then there was a really loud sound. Like a bomb, or plane. No, more like a rocket taking off. I didn't see where it came from, but I saw something shoot up into the sky and continue on until it was out of sight.
  10. It was about 10 minutes later when the police finally showed up. They searched the property but couldn't find the girl. Richard was missing too, and I was secretly worried. The police were talking to Principal Jacobs, and basically the whole school was outside, waiting for some information to clear their minds. No one knew what happened, even the police. I just hoped Rich was ok.
  11. CLIFFHANGER! Ok so do u think he's a superhero? And do u think he is British?
