  1. First off, this has a lot of Ron. I just thought I'd give you fair warning. Secondly, I know the options are terrible, but I had to get this out within about half an hour or I couldn't get this out for another week. This edition might seem a bit rushed because of that as well, so I apologize. I hope it was worth it, though, so enjoy! :)
  2. "I am not wearing that," I stated flatly, looking at the flowery little dress Sabrina was holding in front of my face. Hermione, Ginny, and Arianna were sitting on various beds around Hermione's dormitory, watching the proceedings in amusement. They had all dragged me there to get ready for my Hogsmeade trip, though Ginny was a bit disgusted by the entire thing. "I told you to talk to him, not go on a date with him!" she had exclaimed when she had heard the news. Nevertheless, the others were eager not to let me go to Hogsmeade in my usual attire. As they all debated as to what they should force me into next, my wandered a bit and I suddenly thought of a problem they hadn't foreseen. "You know, you're all so busy trying to make me look nice. What about Ron?" I asked with a mischievous smile. His ruffled dress robes from the previous year were still a sore topic for him. My friends all stopped their arguing at once. "I doubt his brothers are going to give him a makeover," I added. That seemed to settle it. "I'll go see what he's gotten himself into," Ginny said reluctantly at a glance from the others. In the end, the other three girls eventually talked me into wearing a white sweater with a pink button-up jacket and black jeans. It was still cold outside, so I added a hat, scarf, and some black boots. Overall, the others were fairly satisfied with my choices, and let me go after some further fussing with my hair and face.
  3. I met Ron outside the Great Hall a bit later. I bumped into Harry and Cho on my way to meet him. Whereas Harry looked extremely uncomfortable, Cho just looked annoyed. She had probably heard all about my reputation by then. I didn't think she was any too happy about the way Harry was looking at me either. I smiled in embarrassment. "Hello, Harry. Cho. Well, er, have fun," I said awkwardly before slipping between them and rushing off to meet Ron.
  4. I stopped and looked at Ron in surprise when I reached him. Ginny had done fairly well. His bright red Weasley hair was freshly combed and he was wearing a red sweater with a black jacket and jeans. "You look nice," I commented lightly. He shot Ginny a glowering look from across the room, and she waved at him with an innocent smile. "She's a bloody menace," he said, obviously displeased with being forced into his new clothes. I suppressed a laugh and pulled him toward the doors to get outside. "Oh, stop being so negative," I said cheerfully. We managed to get through Filch eventually and walked along the path together. I could sense Ron was nervous by the way he was rambling, and I attempted to make the atmosphere less uncomfortable. "It's just me, Ron. Cassandra. Let's just try to have fun today," I said, taking his hand after a moment. He relaxed a bit and we reached Hogsmeade. Unlike my other friends, I hadn't been to Hogsmeade all that often. I had missed quite a few trips over the past couple of years, and so I hadn't seen many of the shops. We went in and out of the various buildings, and Ron showed me around, pointing out some of the more interesting things I hadn't seen before. We entered Honeydukes after a while, and Ron bought me a box of chocolate and some sugar quills. I knew it must have cost him a lot of what he had. The Weasleys were never a wealthy bunch. As we walked back outside, I was about to pop a piece of chocolate into my mouth that Ron offered to me, but I stopped and looked at him suspiciously. "This isn't going to make me start hiccoughing again, is it?" I asked with a smile, remembering the incident in the Great Hall a couple years ago. He grinned. "I guess you'll have to find out." I decided to take the risk. I bit into the gooey substance and anxiously waited for something to happen.
  5. I let out a muffled shriek as a small explosion went off in my mouth. I punched Ron on his arm more out of surprise than anger, but he looked quite shocked that anything had happened. "But I didn't..." he trailed off, and then looked furious as two other Weasleys appeared around the corner of a building, grinning broadly. "Blimey, Ron. You really don't know how to treat a girl," George said with a look of disapproval. Ron continued to sputter some unintelligible nonsense. "I think HE does. Well, sometimes anyway. It's YOU that needs help," I said pointedly. I took the box of chocolate from Ron's hands. "Exploding bonbons. That's strange. I'm pretty sure it was just regular chocolate when we got them just two minutes ago," I said, glaring at the twins. They exchanged amused expressions. Suddenly, Ron lunged at George and knocked him to the floor. He looked about ready to punch him when Fred dragged him off and held him back by the arms. "I don't care if you fancy her! Just stay out of this!" Ron shouted angrily at George. For once, the twins stayed silent as Ron stormed off with me in tow.
  6. Ron calmed down as soon as we cleared the area. He turned to me embarrassedly. "I'm sorry about that. They're just..." he faltered, searching for the words. "Annoying? Meddlesome? Totally irritating?" I offered helpfully. He laughed and agreed. "Well, I think you scared them off for today. Do you want to get something to eat?" I asked. "Yeah. Food would be good," he said eagerly. I smiled. You couldn't go wrong with Ron and food.
  7. As we walked along the street, I noticed a rather frilly-looking shop. I stopped in front of the door. "Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop," I read off the sign, my nose wrinkling slightly upon seeing the decorations. It was a bit too pink and extravagant for my taste. I was about to move on when the door slammed open and a girl crashed right into me, crying hysterically. "Cho?" I asked in surprise. "I hope you and Harry will be very happy together," she said tearfully. "Huh?" I asked in bewilderment, but she had already pushed past me and was storming her way down the street. I stood there, dumbfounded, until Harry came out just a moment later. "Cho!" he called out, looking around frantically, and then noticed me standing by the door, my eyes wide and confused. "She went that way," I pointed helpfully. He didn't make any move to follow. "What happened?" I asked hesitantly, already forming a vague idea in my mind. He just shook his head. "Nothing," he said quietly, and then walked off to The Three Broomsticks. I looked to Ron to see if he had any idea, but knowing Ron, he was more confused than anyone.
  8. "Let's go somewhere else," I suggested. Ron looked more than happy to oblige. In the end, we just decided to head back to the castle early. Neither of us wanted to run into Harry at The Three Broomsticks again, and we had already explored pretty much the entire village. We went to the almost empty Gryffindor common room and spent a few hours playing Wizard Chess and Exploding Snap. "I think everyone's going to dinner," I told Ron as people began exiting the common room again. "Yeah, we should probably go," he agreed. We stood there for a moment and mutually seemed to come to a decision. He leaned down and I tilted onto my toes, and suddenly, we were another one of those annoying couples snogging in the common room. I pulled back after a few seconds, flushed with embarrassment. I cleared my throat. "Well, this was fun. The Hogsmeade trip, I mean. I'll, uh, I'll see you...later," I said in a daze. He just had a blissfully ignorant look on his face as I rushed off to the Great Hall.
  9. Somewhere within the next couple of weeks, Ron and I became a couple. A very odd, dysfunctional couple, but still a couple. Unfortunately for him, I didn't let him copy off of my homework, or snog endlessly, or eat all of my food, which he seemed quite disappointed with. However, it was nice to not have to worry about everyone else fawning over me for a while, and for a time, everything seemed to be going right. Of course, it doesn't work that way at Hogwarts. As I was making my way to Defense Against the Dark Arts, a tall, pale figure in the form of Draco Malfoy stuck out an arm, effectively stopping me in my tracks. "What now?" I asked with a sigh. It never seemed like we ever met on good terms. For once it would be nice to just walk down a corridor together like everyone else. "So, you're with the weasel," he stated with a smirk. "Yes," I said with a trace of hostility. "You can do better," he said. "This conversation sounds oddly familiar," I said, crossing my arms with an annoyed expression. "Do you still have it?" he asked suddenly. "Have what?" I asked, but he just caught my hand and traced the snake ring with a long, pale finger. He smiled in satisfaction, smirked again, and started walking back down the corridor again. I caught his arm. "For once, can you stop being so...so..." I faltered. "So?" he mocked. "Just stop trying to be your father," I said in frustration, struggling with finding the right words to say. He stared back at me coolly. "Fine. Then just tell me what you really wanted to say. You wouldn't stop me just to ask about Ron," I said reasonably. He looked around the corridor and leaned down to my ear. "Watch out for Umbridge," he said quietly, and then strode off again.
  10. "Watch out for Umbridge? What does he mean? Does she know something?" Hermione demanded as soon as I told her and Ron what Draco had said. We were in the common room once again. Ron was sitting in a chair doing some homework last minute, and Hermione and I were sitting on the floor. Hermione was busily making hats for house elves again, a new passion she had developed over the year. "Well, obviously he's working with her. Probably just trying to get information out of us. Git," Ron said irritably. "He's not that bad, Ron. I think he's trying to warn us," I said thoughtfully, resting against his legs to think. "I really think you ought to tell Harry," Hermione told me. She had been put on the spot again since Ron and Harry weren't talking, and I was the cause of it. She had been trying to mend it again, but it was a hard task to do alone. "I know. I'll tell him soon," I conceded. It was about time we started talking again anyway.
  11. I approached him after a DA meeting. "Harry, I need to tell you something," I said, and seeing that he was about to make an excuse to leave again, I rushed on. "Watch out for Umbridge." He stopped and waited for me to continue. "Well, er, I was talking to Draco the other day – yes, Harry, Malfoy if it means that much to you – and he told me to watch out for Umbridge," I said. "That's it?" he said dully. "Yes," I said. "It's Malfoy. It's probably a trick," he said dismissively, mirroring Ron's reaction. "I don't think so. Just be careful, Harry. Any of us could be expelled if she discovers the DA," I said reasonably. He nodded after a moment, and then left. Well, I got him to talk. That was progress, I thought wryly.
  12. Edward joined me at the Ravenclaw table at breakfast a day later. "Umbridge's started questioning people from the DA. I think she's got your sister," he said, breathing a little hard. "But she doesn't know anything," I said, a terrible feeling settling in my empty stomach. Edward grimaced. "Umbridge doesn't know that."
  13. *music826* I know there was a lot of Ron and too little of everyone else in this edition. I just thought it was time he got a little more of the spotlight, at least for one edition anyway (or maybe two). However, with the big Department of Mysteries battle coming up, let's just say things are going to get a little crazy. *cue evil laugh* Anyway, I hope you enjoyed! Until next time :)
