@Aria I agree, in some ways. However, Wattpad has some great opportunities. I write there myself, and actually, I considered moving my Hogwarts story over to Wattpad. I even started to rewrite the first part. But when I went to publish it, there was something holding me back. I couldn't click the 'publish' button. Why? Because there's something about GoToQuiz that draws me in. This site will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will never, ever leave. I tried that once, and I couldn't leave behind all the amazing people. I admit, I doubt I'll write on here much more, and I've had a lot of sucess on Wattpad, as has Nat. I've met some amazing people, and I've really been able to expand on my love for both fanfiction and romance novels. I've gained some amazing tips there, and had some fantastic oppurtunities.
Having said all that, there's no way I could ever finish the things I've started here, on Wattpad. I love this site, and even after I've finished my series, I'll be around.
@vulturemonem Now I'M the speechless one. :,) I honestly have no idea how to reply to that. I don't feel I deserve such praise for my story, but I am my own worst critic after all. Regarding the poetic side of my writing, I'm making a promise to myself and any future readers that if I do write another story, I'm not going to rush through it. Fan fiction did allow me to finally let go of Harry Potter a bit, but it also kind of made me feel like I couldn't deviate from the path J.K.R. set for her characters as well. Writing my own, completely original story would allow me to create my own world. And I'm definitely going to be checking up on this site when I can. That's the advantage of having my own laptop - I can go here whenever I want, especially when I need a little break from homework. ;) So, yes, this isn't goodbye at all, as I've been saying a lot lately. It is simply, as you so accurately put, until next time :)
Aw thank you so much! :,) All the things you said, they're all super sweet just like yourself.
I'm currently not shedding tears but I feel like it, considering you aren't going to post again. Wattpader as I am, there is something about GTQ that drew me in, and even though the site has many glitches and flaws, bur still it's the only website I feel at home. To think you'll not be posting again here is a bit sad, but anyway, I understand especially the part regarding academics. I'd have to focus on it a LOT this year on my academics too, because as you may know, I have no other choice. :P I have no idea how it will affect my writing process but still...
As for the entire series, I initially placed it in the Top 3 but now I think I should place it in Top 1 because none of else are finished and this gives your series an upper hand over them. XD Anyway, on a serious note, I really loved your writing and enjoyed it. It's amazing to think you managed to maintain the standard of your writing till the very last edition, and you've written 55 of them! I, on the other hand, have only written a few but my writing fluctuates so much that it's obvious. XD Don't bother about the character, the "screen time" Edward got was well enough. :)
As for the results, you know who I might've got, well, in the entire series. ;) Last but not least, I'd like to thank you. You gave me inspiration and motivation to write too, and for this, I'm forever in debt of you.
I'd not say goodbye, but till we meet again, take my farewell, for every farewell is a promise, we will meet again. :)hp4evr1
@Milkyway62 Thank you so much. :,) There really is no need to miss me, though. I'm not leaving GTQ, I'm just not writing here. I just feel like Wattpad is going to suit me better for convenience reasons, and is a good place to start on some original writing projects. It isn't really hard to figure out either. Creating a profile is very easy and actually pretty fun if you did want to check the site out. :)
If you want to write your own fanfiction or continue with your other stories, I say go for it! I just finished reading the parts you had on your profile, and I think you have some real writing potential there. It is quite difficult to get noticed at first, but everyone starts out there. I'm still not all that popular, but I've gained quite a few consistent readers since I started. Just pick something you're interested in, stick with it, and sooner or later it will pay off.
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the story, and I really thank you for all of the nice comments. They truly make my day and make me feel as if my writing is worth something. And yes, until next time ;)
PLEASE DON'T LEAVE!!!!! I am going to miss you sooo much as well as your fantastic writing. *sobbing* seriously I think I might go into like some serious depression or something. ;( I really am going to miss you even though I barely know you. I know I came in late but just know that I supprted you every edition of Hogwarts you made and all of your other writing as well. I am so sorry that you are moving to wattpad. I am. Becuase I really don't know what it is or how to get there. But alas I will figure it out soon enough. :) As we near the end of my comment I want to say thank you for changing my life. Seriously, I became obsessed with your writing. I enjoyed this sooo much that you have no idea! You inspired me to think of doing my own fan fiction of something. Hopefully I can finish Aspersion first but only time wil tell. I really appreciate you actually looking at my writing(which hpefully was relatively normal) It's kind of hard to get noticed when you first start out on GTQ. ( I feel as if I am saying goodbye to a very dear friend) So now here is the end. goodbye music826. You will always be in my thought when I come on here. Who knows, maybe I will be able to figure out wattpad!! So anyways I will miss you dearly. Until next time;)
@Aria I'm sorry you feel that way, but I am by no means leaving GTQ. I'm only moving my WRITING to Wattpad, and for more than just the convenience as well. I admit that I did want to move in September when Nat first moved, but I've long gotten over that. Actually, I hadn't even started posting when she left. Now it's purely my own decision because I think it's the right move for growing and improving my stories, just as she probably decided for herself when she decided to move to Wattpad. I had planned from the beginning to keep this as my only story on GTQ, so now it's time to move on for me. But I don't think the GTQ writing family is gone at all. There are still plenty of new and old writers around, and some may just be having a hard time getting through their own series. And just as @vulturemonem said, even though I'm done with this series, I'll still be around. I hope this explained my decision a bit more. :)
Thank you so much for your shout-out. I read your first part, and then missed about twenty due to my little hiatus. I'm really glad my opinions and insights were helpful to you, and I'm honoured to be spoken about by you. Your writing... I can't even describe it. Perhaps I should just use 'perfect' to be lazy. But then again, that would mean I were being dishonest. Call me Conservative if you like (I apologise, that's a very English thing to say. The Conservatives are a political party over here.), but I don't believe in perfection. Because there's always something we can improve upon, isn't there? Most of the time, you don't realise it needs improving upon until you've been writing for ages, and then you just do it. For myself, that was descriptions. For you, I think it was the general style of your writing. When you weren't pressed for time, and weren't rushing it a little bit, your writing was beautifully poetic. I was slightly sad to see that left behind in the last couple of years, but in the end, it didn't really matter.
I'm going to be honest, I'm sad to see this series end. On your very last part, I was ready to make some joke about the chronological order of your quizzes, and then I realised I couldn't. I couldn't skip a part, and say I couldn't wait for the one after next, and it made me a little sad.
That being said, you're not leaving GoToQuiz, and I'm going to value your own insights into my own series a lot in the future. I hope that around academics - which I know are your top priority, rightly so - you'll have time to pop back here and see what's been going on.
*sighs* I'm really bad at endings, so I'll put it off for another paragraph or so.
I don't think I have enough bravery to comment.
Your work is amazing, I'd say that. And you are amazing, so why end it? These are exactly the things I hate. Everyone is moving to 'Wattpad' because it's so easy to write there.
In life, when things are hard, can we just avoid it and go on to something else? No, we have to make the best of it and sooner or later, it will turn out to be fabulous.
Someti mes, I sit back and wonder what would've happened if natuhleegayle didn't leave. This site would still be whole because EVERYONE counted on her.
But again, let's take it this way. When somebody leaves us in life, we need to cope with it, we can't just 'follow' them to the place they are?
I'm sounding ridiculously selfish but you were one of the best writers Gotoquiz had and now you're going? Well it not only sucks but it hurts.
This is the place we all started and we're leaving it like it doesn't even matter anymore. It's like leaving a good nice book, small but it has enough magic to last us a lifetime to go with a big book that is probably going to fail us.
The memories of this place will forever be known. I'll miss you.Aria1
@Blahh45 Hey, sorry I haven't commented back. This story has been finished for over a year, so I really only check in every few months. Oddly enough, I caught you within a week or so.
Anyway, thank you for the awesome comments! It's nice to see that I'm still gaining new fans, even though it seems like an eternity since I was writing this. As far as continuing the story, I think I'm completely out of the fan fiction world at this point (just the writing, not the reading). I'll try to read your quizzes within the next few days and leave some suggestions. Thanks for the support!
@chopinssonata Thank you :) I don't plan to stop writing, but I am taking a break from it to focus on school and other things that haven't exactly been my top priority over the summer. Your support means a lot to me and I will definitely continue to follow you here and on Wattpad as well. I'm not exactly sure what Wattpad story you are referring to, unless you mean the one I had up for a short time a while back. That is where I will be posting any future stories at least. Anyway, thank you and good luck with all of your own writing endeavors! :)
@hp4evr Thank you! I honestly did not shed a single tear over this series, but I've felt like I wanted to several times. It just doesn't seem like it's quite over. I do agree that GTQ does seem rather welcoming and friendly, and that's why I couldn't bear to just leave it. Wattpad just seems like the place I should be to continue my writing because of a number of reasons, with my academics being the primary.
Anyway, I don't feel like I deserve such a high honor as the top Hogwarts series, but thank you so much. :) And it is reassuring to know that you aren't holding Edward's disappearance against me. XD I agonized over that a bit while writing seventh year.
I'm honored to know I inspired you to write. I've read everything you've posted as far as I know, and I can just see how much you've blossomed since the beginning. And no, this isn't goodbye at all. I can be a Wattpader and a GoToQuizzer at the same time. It's not goodbye to either of them. :)
I'm sitting here now music, not really listening to the radio, running the tips of my fingers together, not having a clue what to type. It has to be something that can sum up you, and your writing, and everyone I feel. I'm not sure I can actually put it into words, and it's worrying me a little. I don't usually have a problem with words... Only letters that are added to numbers in maths.
Ok, well of course, I'm going to miss your superb writing, and your incredibly funny options. Though we missed those in the later editions, I enjoyed them nevertheless when they were there. I noticed that you added some in for your final edition, and it made me smile a lot.
The ever-present question of which boy am I in love with?! I ask myself that every time I start reading a new Hogwarts fanfiction. But, my dear music, you know that with that one, little romance scene with Draco, you managed to pull me over to fall for Draco. As I've said before, the experience was quite traumatising! I remember reading your very first edition, and I was immediately hit by how professional it seemed. The majority of fanfictions I've read on this site, Nat's included, started out short, with quiet a few plot-holes and very few expansions. Mine was the same, I know. But yours? Though you improved as you wrote more, you started off fantastically anyway. Honestly, if I'd read a whole fifty-five parts of Hogwarts at that standard, I'd have been happy. Your writing could easily be compared to any other writer on this site, and they'd be hard done by (that's an English phrase, do you Americans use it too?!) to surpass your talent. I meant what I said a few parts ago. Even Nat would be amazed by what she read.
I'm afraid this will have to be a two-part comment due to the 2000 character limit! Sorry!
I'm literally bawling my eyes out because it's over. I'm proud to make you smile with all the comments I leave. And I would just like to say thank you for writing this piece of fan fiction for us all.
If you must know, me, Fred, George and Arianna will be living happily together thanks to you. PS. I'm still writing just a little writers block, that's all.
@bananabread Thank you so much :) Every comment you leave just leaves a huge smile on my face, and I'm glad I had you as one of my wonderful readers. I'm also glad you, George, Fred, and Arianna are all happily living together. ;) Hopefully I'll see some of your writing soon, then!
@music826 I've been putting off our final farewell for three comments, but I think I've exhausted everything I have to say. I like the way @hp4evr has put it. We aren't saying goodbye, not to you, but we are celebrating the end of your writing here. I'll 'see' you on Wattpad though, and I'm sure I'll see your comments around here.
So, music, I bid you farewell. I wish you every sucess in the future, and I'm sure we'll exchange a few words again some time soon. Until next time!
Although I really never got to read a majority of your HPFF, I have read your other story on wattpad. Your a gifted writer and the imagery you create is beautiful. Please never stop writing, you're very talented and so many people (look below) love it. Thanks so much for being encouraging and being a great GTQ friend.
@mcqueen Thank you so much, mcqueen. And no, I definitely haven't forgotten about you. You've always been so supportive and sweet during my writing journey. I may not be writing here anymore, but I'm definitely not leaving the GTQ family either. :)
I forbid you to stop making making these marking these quiz cause I love them and toast but still don't stop if u stop ill hunt you down and take away ur toast until u start writing these agian.
I'm going to miss your writing I've had your back since you got here and since then you have never forgotten me but it is going to feel like your leaving the family if you stop writing on heremcqueen1
