"Nothing. No. Okay," he responded, a little softly. He was out of words, really.

He nodded softly. "Oh, by the way, my name's Jamie. I don't think we really introduced each other yet."

He nodded as well. "Girvan. I is pronounced like long e. Geer-van." He held out his hand.

"Girvan." He said, applying the pronunciation to memory. He smiled and shook his hand. "I like it."

He looked away when they shook hands, afraid to make eye contact. "Gracias," he mumbled.

Jamie wondered why he looked away, and tried to think of something to say now. "Are you sure you all don't need anything else? I really don't mind helping where I can."

"We don't need help. Especially from Gringo," he said gruffly. "Nice of you to ask."

He frowned softly. "I'm sorry I am Gringo then, and it's no problem..."

"Then I sorry I'm worthless Mexicano who wastes your time and money," he said, though this time not as rough. He saw how he upset Jamie. -

"You're not, Girvan." Jamie spoke up at hearing those words. "You're not worthless and none of this is wasting my time or money. You're a good person and so are the others and you deserve freedom. I want to help that, to do something right." He looked up softly. "I can tell you're good, and I...I want to be your friend." -
He stared at him for a moment, almost coldly. He was completely out of words because of Jamie's soft kind words. "Esilly Gringo. If really want to be friends eso badly that you risk own life." He smiled lightly, his face a little pink.

Jamie smiled lightly, in thought. "Well, I've never really had a friend, if you don't count the barn cat and animals. And what's life worth living without people you love to share it with?"

"I never had friend either. Very hard for me. I esuppose that if you eserious, we will get along fine. Eso yes, I think you right." His eyes narrowed a bit. "But if you backstab me or anyone.. Don't think I don't kill you."

"It's hard for me too." He nodded lightyly, and held out his hand again. "You have my word. I wouldn't dream of backstabbing you, or anyone else."
