"Okay." I knew it wasn't but I managed a smile and began walking to what I hoped was the edge of the woods.

I walked along next to him, keeping my head tilted down a bit.

There was something wrong, something she wasn't telling me.

"You hungry?"

"A bit."

"Okay." I pulled a granola bar out of my backpack and handed it to him.

"Thanks." I peeled the rapper back and took a bite.

I kept walking, letting my footsteps sinc with his. I felt better when I looked down and my feet matched his step.

She was troubled, but I just couldn't figure out why...

The guilt was beginning to become to much. "T-the map..."

"What about it?"

"I-it was my fault."

I stopped dead and looked at her. "What?"

"I, he, he took it-and-" I could feel hot tear run down my face as my words stumbled out. "I gave it to him and he r-ripped it."

I took her shoulders and gently shook her. "Who?"
