"I am mad!" I wanted to say. But part of me kept me from doing so. Was I mad? I sighed. "Let's find Nate and get the map back."

I nodded, still holding back tears.

I could tell she was upset, but I didn't know what to say. I felt disconnected.

I looked down in my hands, where I still had the torn-up piece of the map. "At least I have the piece we'll need to find our way out."

I sighed, and shoved the piece in my pocket.

An awkward barrier of silence formed between us, and no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't break it.

I turned, walking back towards the forest. "This way." I mumbled.

"Oh, right." I turned on my heel, following her, but keeping my distance. Why? I had no idea.

Unlike usually, I had no urge to go nd walk next to him. I had a feeling he wasn't very happy with me.

I wasn't sure if I was mad at Juliet for trusting Nate, or just unhappy that she was talking to Nate and I wasn't aware of it.

I ran my fingers through my hair again, trying to brush out the stray knots and dirt tangled in.
(i totally just relized they must stink! they haven't showered at all) -

I brushed some dirt off my jacket absently.
