She didn't know how to respond to that. Everyone thought she was a problem. Everyone that knew she existed, anyway.

I sling the gernade launcher. "And Im not going back"

"Which brings us back to the question of what you're going to be doing." She looked up at him, sitting up.

"Ill figure it out as I go" I say as I stand.

"And where you'll go?"

I turn around, "Somewhere" I say over my shoulder.

"There are bears in the forest... they're usually pretty hungry... oh and don't eat any poisonous plants or anything...," she called out halfheartedly.

"Ill survive," I say, starting to walk. "Nobodyll miss me anyway"

"You don't have anyone back there in the Dome providing some sort of false affection?"

"No." I said, wanting to leave, but couldnt.

"That must suck." She didn't want to ask, but part of her felt compelled to...

"I guess, it doesnt matter now" I say, then I start walking away.

"Hey... wanna stay with me instead?" She climbed out of the trunk. "To be honest, I get lonely."
