I hope you enjoy the second chapter!!! I'm writing it as I go so sorry of it's confusing or something. Even though few of you are reading I just want to say thanks!

So yeah, I pretty much explained everything up there. No one reads these anyway lol so I don't see why I have to write in them. I am starting to hate these boxes.

  1. "What do you think you're doing?" "I, I, don't know, I was just sleeping, then they flew over, and, and, something pushed me out of the way and-" "That would be me." he said. I look up into the bright blue eyes. It was Luca. "You? What are you doing here?" "Saving your butt! A 'thank you' would be appreciated." Then I realize that he really did just save my life. "Thank you." I say. "You're welcome." he says crossing his arms and sticking his nose up in the air like a poodle. "How did you do it so fast?" "Fast? What do you mean fast?" "You, it seemed like it was really fast. You pushing me out of the way. I guess I was just shocked." "Yeah, I guess..." Luca says looking away. He looks guilty. Like there's something he's not telling me. Maybe it wasn't mine to know.
  2. After looking away for a few minutes, Luca turns to me and says, "You know, I think we should stay together. I think it would be much safer." I look up at him with an annoyed look being totally unaware of it. "Uh," I say thinking about it. "Look. I know you just met me, but it could be the best choice. I mean, if you want to live." I don't hesitate for one second on my answer. "I've been on my own for ten years now. Don't you think I can handle the rest of my life?!" He just looks at me. Shocked. That jaw-dropped look.
  3. "I'm, i'm sorry, Ali. I didn't mean to say anything to upset you." I ignore him, not to be rude, but because I am embarrassed. I probably just ruined any friendship worth keeping.  There is no where to go really, and he doesn't leave me. I feel too bad to say, "I'm sorry," or "It's not you, it's me," That cheesy old line. He just sits there, with his back to mine and doesn't say a word. He just looks down at the ground. Finally I swallow my pride and decide to apologize. I turn around to see his dark hair hanging in his face. I look at him for a moment. He was handsome, well, considering I hadn't known many boys in my lifetime. He looks up at me and smiles when he sees that I was looking at him. I look away. Those stupid dimples. It feels as if my heart is trying to take over my body and my mind is trying to stop it. But  it's hard. "Can I say something?" I don't wait for an answer. "I'm sorry, Luca. You don't deserve to be yelled at like that.
  4. He looks up at me with those big, blue, eyes. "It's alright, and don't even apologize. I shouldn't force you to do something you don't feel comfortable doing." I look at him again. I liked him. He wasn't cocky, you know, if he liked me, he wouldn't make stupid comments and jokes. He's a gentlemen. With pretty eyes. "What do you mean?" I ask. "If you don't want to stay together, that's totally fine." "But I do," I say quickly. His expression changes in a second. "Oh, you do? That's great!" he smiles and I see those dimples again. I can't help but smile again. My blonde hair was blowing in my face. I look up to the sky to see the trees bending in the wind. But it was just wind. Not from a ship. Thank God.
  5. The day is not quite over yet, but I'm really tired. "Are you tired?" I ask Luca. "A little. You?" "Extremely. I guess we should find a spot to sleep right?" He grins. "Right." We walk and find a safe place hidden in the woods. Luca starts a fire as the sky grows dark. "Do you think they saw me?" "Who?" he asks. "Them. Do you think they saw me before you pushed me? Or you?" "I doubt it. They may scare us, but they aren't  that smart." "Shh! They might hear you!" I say jokingly. "I bet they have bad hearing too." he says. We both burst out laughing. We were trying to make ourselves feel better even though we knew all that stuff wasn't true.
  6. realized that I had lost all respect for myself when I woke up sleeping on Luca's shoulder. I get up right away. And of course, that wakes him up. "Everything ok?" he asks wiping his eyes. "Yeah. Fine. I think we should keep moving." "Yeah, you're probably right," he says as he gets up. He was sort of emo style, not the cutting himself kind, but the drummer in a band kind. The kind that made you laugh. "Okay, were do we go?" he asks. I look at him. "I don't know, someplace safe. Safer than this." "Yeah. Okay." We get up and start to search for food. But it's not easy. I grab a few twigs from off the ground. And a sharp rock. I start to carve the twigs. "Hey, you got any string by any chance?" I ask. "As a matter of fact, I do." What are the chances. I tie the string around the twigs and a leaf. I make a sling shot.
  7. ust as soon as I had made it I see a bird  flying through the trees. I pick up a rock and put it in the sling shot. I pull my arm back just as I had taught myself many months before. When I feel my arm is back far enough I let go of the rock. It shoots across the forest and hits the bird right in the chest. It falls to the ground. I walk over and pick it up. "Dang!" *(i had to use the substitute because i don't want to get reported.)* I say under my breath. "What's wrong?" Luca asks. "It's stunned, but it's still alive." "So? Just shoot it or something. With a rock I mean." "I know it's just a bird, but I don't feel right about killing it up close, ya know? I mean, I'm the last thing it will see before it dies. My face will forever be in it's memories as it's murderer." "Until it dies." I give him a look. I think about how I'm going to do this. Then I realize something. The Zeplin berries. I put the bird down and walk over to a very convenient Zeplin berry bush. I grab just one. I bend down and place the berry into the bird's beak. It swallows. "Sorry, my friend." I say as the bird's heart slowly stops beating.
  8. "I hope you don't think I'm heartless and have no compassion or anything, do you?" Luca asks as I cook the bird over the fire he started the night before. "Now why would I think that?" I ask not even looking up at him. "Uh oh. Answering a question with a question. That's not a good sign is it?" "I don't know, is it? That's what you just did to me." "Ha." he says looking down and shaking his head. "Right. Sorry." "It doesn't bother me." I say as I continue to roast the featherless bird. "Of course I don't think your heartless. Or compassionless." "Is that a word?" he asks. "I think so. Anyways, why would you ask that?" "The bird, you were so caring, even though you were planning to eat it. I was just like, 'kill it.'" "Are you serious? That's my problem. I was acting like, like, someone who asks, 'Would you like some more lemonade?' as they fluff their pillow. Even though their planning to kill them." "That's called compassion." We laugh as we eat the bird. The poor bird.
  9. After we finish eating, we start walking somewhere. But we don't know where. We come to a road. "Do you think it's safe?" I ask. "Probably, and deserted." We walk along the road. I look up at the sun. "Is it just me or does it look really big today?" I ask. "The sun? Ehh, I don't know. We could just be high up." As we look down I see a car coming right for me. It happens fast just as it did before. The towers screeching, me screaming, and Luca pushing me out of the way. I land in A bush. "I thought you said it was safe!" I say. "When you watch where you're going it is!" he says. "Sorry," "Don't mention it." "Why was someone driving a car anyways?" "I don't know... it's kind of weird. Don't ya think?" "Yeah. Hey, look! A sign!" We run over to the sign. It says, 'San Francisco, 57 miles.' There were also advertisements for food, gas, tourist shops, etc., which of course were no longer in business. I run up a colossal hill. I'm surprised to see a cave at the top. "Ali! Wait up!" Luca says, panting, slowly coming up the hill. "A cave?" he says. "Yeah, I know. Right in the middle of nowhere." I walk over to it. I peek inside. It looks like a normal cave. Not that I know what that looks like. "I'm gonna take a look around." "Uh, I don't know if that's a good idea." he says. "I'll be fine." I say as I walk into the cave. The inside looks the same as what you expect any cave to look like. Dark, cold, humid, pointy rock things, bat poop, which means there's bats. As I go deeper into it, the cave seems to break off into too different tunnels. I'm not really paying attention to where I'm going, so I just go through one. The second I walk into it, a rock falls. I just about jump through my skin. What? It scared me. Then another rock falls. And another. Soon a plethora of rocks fall I try to get back to the entrance of the cave, but the rocks beat me. I get trapped. "Help!" I yell. Luca is probably outside, shaking his head saying that I shouldn't have gone in. And I am just hoping that God would let him hear me. "Luca! Help!" I start banging on the rocks, which hurts my fists. "Help, Luca, help! Can you hear me? Help!" And of course it's dark, so that creeps me out as well. "Help!" The air is getting thinner, and it's harder to breathe. I start to cough. "Ali, is that you?" Luca! "Yes, Luca it's me! Help! *cough* I'm trapped and I can't get out!" "Oh my gosh, *(I try not to use oh my god)* I'm coming to get you Ali don't worry!" "Please hurry! *cough*"
