Beautiful Lies Part 14

Announcements: @BlueMoon23 and everybody else, if you want to be in the story or any of my stories, then leave a brief description of yourself such as physical traits and personality characteristics and I'll see what I can do...

...I usually don't do unless someone wins a game, but I guess I'll make an exception. Bare in mind though, you might not show up in this series, but maybe another one.

  1. Christofer was in a room, sitting in a chair. Wires were stuck to his forehead, his wrists bound down by metal shackles. His tormentor was fiddling with different buttons, occasionally looking up at the small television-like screen propped up next to him. A green line started swimming through the screen, going up and down in little mountain shaped peaks. "Why not use your magic?" Christofer asked. Michael turned around, scratching his chin."Magic is fun. But mortals have some of the most cruelest punishments, don't you think?" He walked slowly to Christofer, getting face to face with him. "It's too bad Oath doesn't want you dead though." Out of nowhere, a claw came down from the ceiling with a type of scanning device on it. A red light surged through it and ran it over Christofer's whole body in a blink of an eye. "If you don't mind me asking," Christofer started, "what the hell was that?" Michael loomed over him so close Christofer could see each and every hair on his unshaven chin. "That would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it?"
  2. Sarah and Cole were hiding in the bushes, watching the herd of animals crowding around the water hole. "I told you," Cole whispered. "Shut up," Sarah deadpanned. Cole licked his lips. "I'll be back. You might not want to watch this." Sarah turned away slightly as Cole ran out of the bushes with incredible speed. She covered her eyes as she heard the cries of the animal that he claimed. She heard the others stampeding away, dreading the one unlucky one of them that just wasn't fast enough. It was a few minutes before Sarah opened her eyes. Cole wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, leaving the dead animal behind. "That was good," he said. He held out his hand to help Sarah up. She refused. "You know what would be better? When you give me the Compor and we part our separate ways." Cole smirked. "Really? I thought you were just starting to fall for me." He started walking back the direction they came from. "Come on then."
  3. Cole led Sarah to a hole in the ground. "Are we going to Wonderland?" She asked. Cole smiled. "Although I would love to take you to Wonderland, no." He jumped down the hole unexpectedly, making Sarah jump. "Are you sure this is where the Compor is?" She yelled down. "Absolutely," she heard him say. She peered down the dark hole and sat on the edge. "Catch me, okay?" She heard Cole laugh. "Yes, your majesty." She rolled her eyes, and jumped off. Falling. She was falling hard and fast. How deep was this hole? She almost screamed, but didn't want Cole to make fun of her. Stupid Cole. "Wasn't that fun?" He asked, as she landed in his arms. He set her down with a smirk. "Just find the Compor and give it to me," she said. "As you wish. Follow me."
  4. The tunnel was dark. It was dark and tight and narrow, and Sarah and Cole had to stand really close together. "How do you know where the Compor is?" Sarah asked. "One of my friends, Juno, is a mermaid. A man bought it off her. He so happens to work for the infamous Oath." Sarah nodded. "How do you know where you're going? It's so dark." "I'm a vampire. You ask a lot of questions for a seer, you know that?" That made her smile a little. "I just want to make sure." There was a small light in the end of the tunnel. Sarah went to it and hoped it was the end. Instead, it was just another entrance to the same tunnel. She went on her tip-toes to peer inside of the room. There was a translucent floor. Over that was just a regular room with blue walls and sea creatures. "We're almost there," Cole said. "Just keep going straight."
  5. The light from the other entrance slowly faded out as the two went deeper into the tunnel. It was dead silent as neither of them talked. Not even their footsteps could be heard, as their feet sunk into the dirt. Suddenly a bat screeched. Sarah jumped and inched closer to Cole, putting her arms around his waist. She let go immediately. Cole looked at her with an amused smile. "Shut up," she mumbled. "I wasn't going to say anything," Cole replied, his smile never leaving his face. After that, it came back to silence. Cole grabbed Sarah's hand, stopping her. "Just because I hugged you doesn't mean we're going out now," she commented, taking back her hand. "I know," Cole replied matter-of-factly. "This is how we're going to get the Compor without having a whole army dawned upon us." "Oh," Sarah muttered under her breath.
  6. "Stay here," Cole said. Sarah nodded. Suddenly, the vampire started climbing the walls, punching the ceiling repeatedly with his supernatural strength. Dirt came crumbling down every punch, making the tunnel shake a little. After several more punches, Cole jumped down. "I so happen to know that the man who has the Compor works as guard." Sarah didn't even have the chance to nod before Cole grabbed her arm and pulled them both behind a dirt wall. "You distract him and then I'll come up from behind, knock him out, and steal his Compor. Sound good?" She nodded, seeing a small light coming their way. "Go," Cole whispered. She went out in the open, the light then shining in her face. "What are you doin' 'ere?" The guard asked. "Um, I think I'm lost"”" she squinted her eyes to see his badge, ""”Thomas. Where is this place?" The guard scratched his head. "This 'ere is the Underbelly. I'm gon' let you go for now, but don't come back now, ya' hear?" Sarah nodded as she saw Cole drop down lightly behind the guard.
  7. "Well, what are you waitin' for, girly? Go on and git!" Sarah turned around just as she heard a thud. She turned back around and found Thomas on the ground, Cole going through his pockets. He got back up with something shiny in his hand. Then he tossed the Compor to her. "There's my part of the deal. Do I get a present?" Sarah pocketed the Compor and smiled. "No. The blood was already the present." Cole put on puppy dog eyes. "But a kiss is better than blood." Sarah gave him a look. Cole put his hands up and said, "I know, shut up." Then he smiled. "Wait, you still need me to get out of the tunnel though." Sarah rolled her eyes. "Fine. But then you have to leave, okay?" Cole put his arm around her. "K, babe."
  8. Mr. Woodbury wasn't answering. "What have they done to you?" Sam asked himself more than Auntie Lisa, who's been knitting herself a scarf even though the warm weather has already set in. Because you know something's wrong if she hasn't been singing for more than 24 hours. And Sam was stumped. Why target a mortal? His cell phone started buzzing in his pocket. He got it out, but the screen showed no incoming messages. Which could only mean one thing: the Compor. He got it out and opened it. In the mirror was a girl with rich eyes and a pretty face to go along with it. "Sam," she said with an innocent look. How did she know him? "I'm Sarah," she said as if all of this was normal. "And who exactly are you?" Sarah wrinkled her nose and giggled. "I'm a seer. You know what that means? It means I can see the future. And reading yours, you don't have much time left, buddy." She hung up the line, leaving Sam standing there bewildered and aloof. "I'm a faerie," he said to himself. "You know what that means? I'm a faerie who's going to die soon. Great."
  9. "Was he your boyfriend?" Cole asked. "No. Why would I tell my boyfriend that he was going to die soon?" Cole shrugged. "I have to go to the mortal world now. Thanks for the Compor. K, bye." Sarah turned to leave when Cole grabbed her hand. "Not even a hug? Come on, I deserve a hug." Sarah slumped her shoulders and half heartily gave Cole a hug. He kissed her forehead, which she thought was unnecessary. "Bye, love," he said as she walked away. "I'm not your love," she called from behind. "You're just in denial," he yelled with a hint of a laugh. He loved doing this, didn't he? Sarah turned around and gave him the finger. Cole made a heart with his hands. "I love you too!"
  10. Nick was on his last Starburst piece in the bag that Sam gave him. Yeah, he was kind of wasted on the candy. It was a pink one. Small, square, and immensely tempting to eat. He scratched the wrapper open and popped it in his mouth. It swirled around in there, him savoring the artificial flavor. But this one tasted weird. He shrugged it off and swallowed it. As he got up to throw the bag away, he sensed a movement to his left. His parents were upstairs bickering, so it wasn't them. He popped the lid off the trash bin with his foot and stuffed the bag in there. Then he heard a big thud. He whipped around, yet saw nothing. "Nothing." Nick tried calming himself. He strained his ears to listen for any more abnormal noises, but he heard not a single sound more. He relaxed his shoulders. But they tensed up again soon enough. There was no more noise. His parents.
  11. "Mom, Dad?" He called out. Nothing. He slowly made his way to the stairs and made his way up. Before he could reach the middle, somebody grabbed him from behind and pulled. He half stumbled, half fell back to the bottom of the staircase and soon enough, he was back in his living room. A girl stood there, innocent and his age. She gave him a sweet smile. "Hi, I'm Sarah." Nick made a face and said, "No offense, but I don't really care. What are you doing here?" Sarah flipped her brown hair out of her face. "You know that last Starburst you ate? The one that tasted weird? Yeah, it was filled with a chemical that should be someplace on the periodic table. You don't care, you say? You should, because I'm going to try and save your life." Nick sat on the couch and buried his hands in his face. "I don't under"”" He didn't get to finish as his eyes lolled to the back of his head and he collapsed on the floor. Sarah rolled her eyes. "I drugged your parents for nothing! Ugh, and you were cute too."
