Are you ready for...
Our "When Will I Die" Quiz?

  1. What is your age?
  2. What is your gender?
  1. I pulled Jason’s lips to mine. When I did this, I pulled his hair to get him to me...not exactly easily either. And if you don’t remember, Jason doesn’t feel pain. Any pain that he get from me, he turns into…scary things in his mind. And I blindly grabbed a remote off my headboard and pushed a button that deadbolts my bedroom door. Then I began to take full advantage of Jason while he wasn’t thinking totally clearly. It didn’t work. It turns out he was thinking crystal clearly. He pulled back as soon as I put my leg over his waist. “Erica I told you before. I’m not going to take you like this.” I frowned. “When then?” “I already told you,” he said. “When you turn eighteen.” I sighed. I sware, sometimes I don’t get him. He could be sending me every signal in the book and then some, then the next minute he’s all “ I’m waiting until you’re eighteen”...blah blah blah. Gawsh. Jason was cradling my face in his hand, rubbing his thumb against my cheek. “That’s such a long time from now though,” a hint of annoyance in my voice. “I know, but,” he trailed off.
  2. I didn’t get a chance to ask what it was about because my phone rang. I instantly went still. It was Alec, how did I know this? Because the ringtone was “She Hates Me” by Puddle of Mudd. I took a huge deep breath and answered it.
  3. “Hello?” Jason was studying me as I did. “Hey Erica,” he said. The sound of his voice made my heart ache. It also pissed me off royally. Fury rolled and coursed through my veins. “What the hell do you want?” I asked icily. Jason pulled me into his lap and leaned his head on my shoulder to try to calm me down, but I don’t think it was going to work this time. “Just wanted to talk is all,” Alec said softly. “Yeah, well,” I hissed. “You don’t have that right anymore. You really screwed that chance all to hell.”
  4. There was silence on the other end. Jason kissed my shoulder. “I never meant to hurt you Erica,” Alec said finally. His voice was quivery, as if he was on the verge of crying, or something else pathetic. I had to end this conversation, before I started yelling, or crying myself. “Alec, you are a pathetic excuse for a man, and I hate your guts. If you keep calling me, I will get a restraining order. I refuse to waste my time on you anymore. I’m sick of it. Game over,” I told him, and I hung up. I looked over at Jason and collapsed into his arms, rivers running down my face. “Shhh, its okay,” Jason said, rocking me back and forth. “I wish he would just leave me alone,” I wailed. But I knew it would continue on, for a while at least.
  5. ***Alec P.O.V.*** Alec couldn’t speak, couldn’t think, or anything. When he heard Erica hang up, he was beyond remorse. Erica was about to cry; he could hear it in her voice. As she said “Game over,” her voice squeaked. All because of his own stupidity, he lost the best thing that had ever happened to him. His chest felt like it had been ripped out, a black hole now where it laid. Erica had taken his heart, and threw it into the gutter. And now he wanted it back. He had to get her back, and away from that trash. Jason had stolen her from him. Alec saw it, since that first day at Hillview. Jason was in love with her just as much as he was, if not more. Alec could tell that he was, because of his reaction that day whenever he called her Rose for the first time. Even if it killed him, Erica Esme Carmical was going to be his…
  6. ***Erica P.O.V.*** Jason picked me up this morning for school at 7:30. I sluggishly got into the old Chevy Nova and stared through the windshield. I had woken up late and haven’t had my daily dose of Monster yet. Its like Jason was reading my mind, ‘cause he handed me a mega-sized Monster. I looked at him. “Oh, I love you so much,” and took a giant gulp. He smiled, kissed my hand, and gunned the gas to school.
  7. I was dressed in purple trick pants and a faded black Lynard Skynard t-shirt. I put my hair in a messy bun and put more eyeliner on while looking in the sun visor mirror. Thank Bob Jason avoided all of the potholes ‘cause I didn’t feel like stabbing myself in the eye. When we got to the school parking lot, Bonnie and her new boyfriend Noah, were making out. This made my gag reflex punch me in the back of my throat. “Do you guys mind? I don’t feel like trying my breakfast a second time,” I said. Jason laughed, along with Kenna, who came to stand beside us.
  8. “So how’s everybody holding up?” Kenna asked. She was rewarded with moans and groans from the rest of us. It was October, and Halloween was here. Everyone in the “Freak” group always dresses up like preps instead of our usual attire. And vise versa for the evil group of nasties. They couldn’t pull off our look if their life depended on it. We got through school and now I was getting dressed to go trick-or-treating.
  9. Usually I wore a cheerleading suit with my hair up in a pretty little bow…sickening huh? My makeup looked like crap, on account of years of caking on dark makeup. So basically, I looked more like I was on drugs than usual. Not that I was doing drugs…just clarifying that fact. All if us were dressed up. It was freaking hilarious. I was in my cheerleading ensemble; Jason was in kaki pants with a plaid dress shirt and a gay-looking letterman’s jacket. His hair was out of his face for once and slicked back like those guys from Grease 2…you know the greasers? Not exactly my type of guy, but hey, it Halloween.
  10. Every one of us was laughing like drunken hyenas when people asked why we weren’t wearing costumes. It was like our own little opposite day, once a year. When our pillow cases were as full and stuffed with candy as humanly possible, we all headed our separate ways, well, most of the group went to Trevor Grayland’s house to play Guitar Hero into the wee hours of dawn. It was already 11:30 and there was hardly anyone else trick-or-treating, so I decided to walk home. Jason, of course, walked with me. “So what do you plan to do tonight?” he asked me, taking hold of my empty hand that wasn’t carrying my bulging bag of sweets. “Oh, I don’t know,” I replied. “Eat about half my candy, gain about fifteen pounds. You know.”
  11. Jason laughed at the thought of chocolate all over my face. “So do you plan on walking home alone, or do you have someone to pick you up?” I asked after I was done cackling. Jason sighed. “I’ll walk, I guess.” There was a rustling in the bushes. Ooh, scary. Like it wasn’t some little kid trying to scare us or something…please. “You are not about to walk 13 blocks at 11:30, in New Jersey,” I protested, whipping my phone out of my bra. “Erica, honestly I’ll be fine,” Jason tried, but I was already dialing Aunt Lisa’s number. He really wasn’t upset; he was chuckling at my stubbornness.
  12. Aunt Lisa answered the phone. “Hallo?” she said, groggily. Yesssss. She was still asleep. That means I woke her up. “Hey, its me. Can Jason spend the night? His parents aren’t answering the door and everyone else is sleeping over at Trevor’s.” Jason was shaking his head at me, but I just smiled at him mischievously. I heard Aunt Lisa sigh. “Yeah, sure sweetie. He can stay. Are you on your way home? Where are you?” “I’m twenty minutes away and we’re on our way home right now,” I told her. “Alright then. Hurry home and be safe.” “You got it,” and with that, I snapped my phone shut. Jason looked at me like I was totally crazy and out of my mind.
  13. “Well don’t thank me or anything. Its not like I didn’t just save you from getting mugged or whatever,” I said, playfully flipping my ponytail. Jason picked me up like a groom would a bride and swung me around until I was so dizzy I nearly got sick. I clung onto him for dear life until I stopped seeing two of everything. Jason was cracking up the whole time. Not that I cared, I was too busy trying not to through up. Jason jacked my phone (OUT OF MY BRA!!!) and called his dad. While he was informing the ”boss” of his whereabouts, we continued walking to my house. We came to a dark intersection, not intimidating, but not exactly settling either. We were about four houses away from home when I just happened to look to my right.
  14. Alec’s house was dark and gloomy, creepy almost. It was weird to think that not two months ago, I would usually go down to this gorgeous house with pleasure, anytime I wanted, and now I evaded it. The only light on in the whole house was in the bedroom upstairs, which was his parent’s room. Cassandra, his mother, was probably up cleaning, or reading like she usually did. I could see a silhouette of someone leaning against one of the pillars. I didn’t feel like facing whatever it was. All I knew was that it was making the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and I didn’t like it.
  15. HAHAHAHA! Dun dun DUUUUNNNN! I am so mean. Everyone knows a cliffhanger when they see one! Come back for more and you might get to see the exiting part 3!!
