  1. Noah sat up in the dark room. He growled and his eyes glowed. He scanned the room, able to see in the dark. A crumpled figure slumped, awkwardly, and un-human like in a corner. Change. He sighed in relief, leaning back. She was alright. Alive anyways. He could hear her heartbeat, faint but steady, and her raspy breathing.
  2. He attempted to stand. Pain shot through his leg, and he looked down to see a long rip in his jeans. He sat back down, frowning. What had happened...He and Change had left the skipped school. They had gone to the lake, to swim, to have fun. And they had been kidnapped by hunters. He had wanted to spend time with her. Before...this.
  3. This. What was this? This was the part were he would tell her. Tell her who-or rather what-she really was. Then she would hate him. Want him to leave her alone. Just like the others before her. He knew it was not her fault. But the bearer of bad news always got blamed. And he was the bearer of bad news. He had been for the past three years.
  4. The others...even the one girl. Just the year before, he had fallen in love with the one with a sealed fate. And she had loved him back...in till he told her. Then her heart had turned away from him. And his had turned to stone. And yet, here he was falling in love. With Change
  5. And he was sure just to get hurt again. It was un-helpable. Un-stoppable. He would tell her, and she would hate him. He looked back over at her and he couldn't breathe for a second. Dang it. Knock it off Noah. You have a job to do. Suck it up and tell her. He tried to get it over with. The sooner, the better. Right? He slowly crawled over to Change. He blinked in the dark.
  6. She looked perfect. She looked like an angel. Oh god. Stop. Just stop. He pleaded with himself. He gently reached over and shook her shoulder. "Change. Wake up." He hid any emotion from his voice. Don't think. Do, do without thinking. Without loving.
  7. Her eyes flashed open and she looked up. Fear, pain, and concern covered her face. "N-n-Noah?" Her voice made him shiver, tongue twisted, un-able to speak. So he nodded. Yep. My names Noah, kid. Your worst nightmare. Those grey-green amazing eyes filled with tears, and he moved un-knowing what to do.
  8. "W-what happened? We were at the lake...and you, you were bleeding. A-a-and I almost drowned. How are y-you, an-nd I al-alive?" Her voice shook with each word. When she ended the sentence, whatever thin dam she had holding her tears back, broke. He frowned and pulled her close to him, holding her head to his shoulder, and stroking her hair. "Sh. Sh. I know kid. I know. I'm here. You're alright. Your gonna be alright." Lie, such a lie.
  9. She looked up at him, her face wet. "Noah...?" Her voice quivered and he gave her a short, reassuring smile. "Yeah kid, what?" She blinked at him...god damn those eyes. "Who am I Noah?" He winced. He would have to tell her now. No choice. He pulled his arms away from her and sighed. "You Change, are the packs killer. Your job is to kill the one who holds a threat to us. But this person will be someone you love. A lot." He shall fear and confusion creep into her eyes.
  10. She shook her head and went to speak, but he cut her off. "When you do this, no one will be able to trust you. You will be banished from the pack. Sorry kid." He watched her sink away from him. "W-who are you Noah? What are you?" Fear covered her face. She knew what he was saying was true. But she was now wondering who he was. Oh god..What if she suspected him? No, that would have to mean she loved him. That was a laugh.
  11. He crawled away from her. Give her some time alone. Time to hate him. Oh, damn. That's what she needed. To get past the truth, to see the only thing to get all this anger at her fate, was to hate him. Why him? Because he was hate-able. Because he was the one who had once again been stupid. To stupid to see that she was just like the rest.
  12. The door swung open, and a hazy grey light filled the room. A man in a mask, with a length of rope entered the room. He looked between the two. Pick me. He thought. Let me feel pain...she will feel it soon. Let me first.
  13. The man walked over to him, and shoved him into a wall. And then in one, swift, fluid, movement he picked Change up, wrapped the rope around her wrist and left. Slamming and locking the door behind him. Noah was to slow.
  14. To slow to save her. To slow about telling her fate. To slow from keeping her away from what? Him. Yes himself. The one who would ruin her life. Him. To slow about everything. He leaned aginst the wall, and did something he had not done in years. Cried. Cried because Change would hate him now. Because he had ruined her life. And he did this...for two hours.
  15. The door opened, and a blood covered person was tossed to his feet. Her face had a deep gash, running from her left temple, to her bottom lip. The skin on her arm hung in shreds. Her hold body had needle holes covering it. Red wet stuff poured from her nose.
  16. He crouched over her, growling at the man. He shrugged and left the room. Noah gently lifted her left arm, the good one, and found that it had burn marks. "S-s-stop-p. P-p-ple-ease. D-d-don't-t-tou-uch m-me." Her voice was weak and ragged. Hurt. He ran a hand down her blood stained back, and he winced. What had they done to her? "Change, baby, its alright. Honey they are gone. Its alright." Her eyes flashed open. Pain filled. Gleaming with tears. She attempted to say something...but failed. So he read her mind. "Yep kid, I know. I want to go home to." END OF PART FOUR
