Hello fellow GoToQuizzers, welcome to part 10 of Remember the future! I can't believe I'm at part 10. I remember when I was writing part one and I was so excited about writing part two because that's when I'd introduce the other characters. Now it's like these characters are so developed I don't even have to try to think what they'd say in a situation it just comes to me! It's so cool! Now without further delay, PART 10

  1. You wake up and start to freak out. Everyone turns on the lights and looks at you with concern. “What happened?” “Was it a bad dream?” “Are you alright?” “How many fingers am I holding up?” they all ask you questions frantically. You look down and see the caramel scented key, except it’s scalding hot. You run it over some cold water to cool it down, and you try to figure out what the light was talking about. You get out of the washroom and everyone is worried about you. “What happened in the dream?” Noah asks you. “Shut it Noah, she needs some space” Warren snaps at him. “No… I need to tell him. Honestly, I can’t figure it out myself… but all I know is-“ you take the key off of your neck and you see the confusion spread across everyone’s face. “- this key, can travel into my dreams”
  2. “Your key can travel into your dreams?” Seth asks confused. “Yes! I lost it in my last dream, and when I woke up I lost it in real life. Then I find it in this dream and then suddenly I have it around my neck!” you say sitting on your bed. “I remember, you said it got buried along with the mansion” Noah says taking out his notepad. “Yes! And I found it there too… but you guys were gone. It was just the mansion and the key” you explain. “So what happened in this one?” Noah asks. “Well, I’m lying on the ground… and then I see this really grey sky-“ “Wait a minute, grey sky?” Noah asks. “Yes… why does that mean something?” you ask. “Grey is usually aligned with fear and depression. Maybe that’s the mood of the dream, did you dread anything in the dream?” he asks. “Well I wasn’t thrilled about whatever was going to happen to me” you say. “Okay, so grey sky means anxiousness and fear” Noah writes it down. “Does the freaking sky really matter?” Warren snaps at Noah. “Sky is usually how events will turn out, this could be helpful with piecing together what else her dreams are telling her” Noah explains. “Okay so get on with it” Warren says crossing his arms. Noah ignores Warren’s comment and looks back at you “was there anything particularly odd about the dream?” he asks. “Yes, there was this light that was talking to me. It had a deep growling voice, and it changed red when it got angry with me” you explain. “Was it hurting you?” Noah asks. “No… it was just talking and it… said it wanted to help me” you say still confused about it.
  3. “Help you? But it got angry at you… did it give you advice or something?” he asks. “Yeah, it said ‘Do not give up little mortal… even if you fall on your face, you are still moving forward’ and then it left me in a dark boiling hot pit!” you say a little annoyed with the light. “It makes you angry it abandoned you?” Noah asks. “Yeah, I mean it says it wants to help me but instead it leaves me to fry in a dark pit with no escape” you say. “Interesting…” Noah says suddenly staring off into space. Devin nudges him “Hello, Mr. Exposition, can you elaborate a little?” Devin asks. “Well, I don’t understand how it wants to help, yet it inflicts so much pain on _______ at the same time.” Noah explains. “Did it say or do anything else?” Noah asks. “Well it said I had no power in my subconscious, and how I’m insecure about myself… and how that was my biggest weakness. It also said how the key was interesting because it smelled like caramel. It was also angry at me when I tried to demand what was going on. But it kept insisting that it was helping me… but I have no idea why it’s so difficult” you explain. “The light seems to be the main point, were you scared of it?” Noah asks. “No… I had the key so it couldn’t hurt me. The key seems to be the only way I can survive what happens in my dreams.” You look at the key intently. “So you weren’t scared of it, it was saying it’s trying to help you, and it gave you a lot of advice? It does sound like it’s trying to help you. Did you see it in your other dreams?” Noah asks. “Yes, I told you remember? It was in both of my nightmares… and it was watching me” suddenly everything becomes clear, everything makes sense! “Wait Noah, I think I know what the light is! It’s a god!” you say. “A god?” everyone asks in disbelief. “Think about it, it watched over me in my other dreams, it comes as a light! You know how there’s a saying “don’t go towards the light” when you die! Death is related to heaven, meaning the light is some god! It also called me a mortal… and I’m a human so that’s true so that must mean it’s a god! But I don’t know who this god is” you say. “What type of god could it be?” Seth asks. “A crazy one, one with a really short temper and has a big ego” you explain. “There’s a few gods for that… but we can research that later” Noah says writing everything down.
  4. “Right, we should get some sleep. It’s still night time” Warren says. “I can’t go to sleep after what just happened!” you say. “Well what are you going to do? We have to get some sleep” Warren points out. “I’ll stay up with her” Seth says. “You will?” you ask a little surprised. “Sure” Seth says smiling. “Fine by me, the rest of us better go to sleep… and you’d better not be scribbling in that thing the whole night” Warren says to Noah. “I prefer to write with the lights on, helps me see what I’m writing” Noah explains. Warren rolls his eyes and goes to his spot on the floor. Devin goes over to you “don’t mind him, he’s just a big grumpy bear when he’s up at night” he whispers in your ear. You chuckle a little “Yeah, I know” you say. Devin winks at you and goes over to his spot on the floor with Noah closing his notepad. “If you want to read any of my notes, go right ahead. It might give you a new insight on your interpretations of your dreams and the god who is following you” Noah says. You nod “thanks” you say. He goes over to his spot on the floor and Carol looks at you with concern, “you know, I never thought my friend would be stalked by a god” she says shaking her head. “I’ll be okay” you say. “I hope so, I sometimes worry about your dreams… I mean you said I died in one of them and I don’t want to-“ “Carol you’re not going to die” you say. “Noah says that dreams are usually metaphorical messages… you’re not going to die” you say. “Okay…” she sighs and goes back to her bed. You turn to Seth, “do you want to go for a walk around the motel?” you ask. “Okay” he says, blushing a little when you hold his hand.
  5. You turn out the lights for everyone and walk out the door. “That was a lovely song you played” you say to him. “Really?” he asks. “Of course! It’s no wonder you were famous, you truly have a gift” you say. Seth squeezes your hand a little tighter “thanks” he says. “No problem” you say. “Uh ______... I’m sorry about how things turned out at the mansion. You know with the… mansion blowing up before… you know” he says nervously. “It’s not your fault” you say. “I know… I just feel like I did something wrong that night. Maybe if I never brought you outside they wouldn’t have found us” he says. “Seth, they probably found us ahead of time. Besides, if we hadn’t been outside we’d probably be blown up in our sleep” you say. Seth’s expression of guilt melts away into realization. “You’re right… I hadn’t thought of that” he says. “That technically makes you a hero… because I know I wasn’t going to get up anytime soon.” You admit. “Bloody hell…” he says to himself. You tug his hand a little “Seth, I was wondering…” you start to say. He looks up at you in shock.
  6. “… if maybe I could have that kiss now?” you ask blushing a little. “You’re serious?” he asks you. You nod wrapping your arms around his neck. He’s turning really red now, but he doesn’t object. You lean in, and finally you feel his kiss upon your lips. It’s slow, but amazing. His kiss is sweet and soft, like him, and you feel like a princess at her happily ever after. You part away and you lean your head on his shoulder and you feel him rocking you a bit. “I never thought you’d ever kiss me” he admits. “You’re such a sweet guy Seth… don’t say things like that” you insist. He stays silent and you really look into his pained chocolate eyes. “Seth, repeat after me ‘I’m a good guy who deserves the best’” you order him. He smiles a little and kisses your forehead “I’m Seth, and I already have the best” he says looking into your eyes. You feel your breath slowing in surprise at what he just said to you. You feel tears coming to your eyes a bit, but you’re smiling too hard you don’t notice. “You mean that?” you ask him. He nods “now you know how I feel around you” he jokes a little. You giggle nervously and kiss him on the lips again. You keep asking the same questions in your head, but they all seem to melt away as you’re kissing him, somehow hearing the sound of his beautiful singing voice running through your head like a river.
  7. You both start walking back to the room and you see the sun rising through the window. You roll up the blinds and head to the washroom. You finish brushing your teeth and hair and grab some clothes to change into. You see Seth writing something and you check out what it is. He looks up at you and blushes a little, “I’m writing a song” he says. “Really? Can I see?” you ask him. “No… it’s not done” he says. “Okay, just tell me when it’s done. I can’t wait to hear it!” you say excitedly. Eventually Noah wakes up and goes right back to asking you questions about your dream and researching gods. Every time he finds a possible match for a mythical god, something seems wrong about it that it can’t be the one.
  8. Next up is Carol and she offers to go over to the restaurant across the street and get breakfast for everyone. You decide to go with her. She gets dressed and you two head outside. “Oh my gosh, tell me about Seth” she says as soon as you both get into the restaurant. “What?” you ask. “Oh don’t play dumb. He kept looking at you like something happened. I’d ask him but he’s good at playing silent. YOU on the other hand sing like a canary whenever something happens” she says playfully. “I do not tell EVERYTHING” you protest. “Doubt it… I know EVERYTHING about you honey. Like how you’re going to order the hash browns and bacon with your pancakes” she says smiling. You look at her in disbelief but she just smiles innocently. “How did you know?” you ask. “It’s like I said, I know everything about you” she says. “Really?” you say “okay then, what do you think happened with me and Seth?” you ask. “You want me to guess what happened between you and my cousin?” she asks. “Yeah, go right ahead” you say.
  9. “Okay… let me think. He’s really silent so you had to do most of the talking… um let me think. Did he hold your hand?” she asks. “Actually I did that” you say. “Oooh, that’s good for him. Sometimes he needs a little push” she says nudging you. “Well he didn’t need too much of a push” you say smiling. “Oh my gosh what did he do?” she asks intrigued. “You have to know everything don’t cha? It will literally kill you if you don’t know what happened” you say teasing her. “Oh come on, just tell me!” she says jumping up and down. “Well I don’t know…” you say giggling a little. “PLEASE tell me, tell me, TELL ME!!!” she says grabbing your arms and shaking you. “Okay , alright then… I asked him to kiss me” you say. Her face is priceless, her jaw is dropped and her eyes look like they’re about to pop out of their sockets. “Did he?” she asks. “Oh yeah… right on the lips” you say smiling. She jumps up and down and starts celebrating right in her seat. Some people are looking at her weirdly but she doesn’t care. “Ohmygod ohmygod ohmyGOD” she says it so fast it sounds like it’s all one word.
  10. After a few minutes she calms down and tugs your arm “What else happened?” she asks. “So we kissed and then he kept feeling guilty about the past so I told him to say “I’m a good guy and I deserve the best” … so guess what he said?” you say excitedly. “Oh my god just TELL ME!” she says barely able to contain her excitement. “He said “I’m Seth, and I already have the best” and he looked right at ME” you say. You and Carol start celebrating like you’re both crazy and after a few minutes you both calm down. “Oh my gosh, he’s so perfect for you! I mean, it’s a little weird for me but… I just feel like you two are perfect for each other” she insists. You shrug “see that’s the thing. I still can’t decide…” you say. “WHAT?” she asks. “I’m serious, I mean the other guys are so sweet and I feel like I’m… like I’m in a bubble” you say. “A bubble?” she asks. “Yeah like, I’m in this bubble and I feel like I’m just floating around seeing these porcupines. The problem is I can’t pick which porcupine I want to land on, because I keep thinking about the other porcupines.” You say. “That’s the weirdest analogy for just saying “I CAN’T PICK A GUY” is that so hard?” Carol asks. “Well whatever, I really like Seth and the other guys… but I don’t know what to do” you say. “Here’s what you do, focus on your situation NOW with N.E.O.N and that weird god following you. Then worry about the guys later… OKAY?” she says. You nod “you’re right, the guys aren’t my priority right now” you say. “Yeah!” Carol cheers. “I have bigger things to worry about” you say. “Yeah!” Carol cheers. “I’m going to get those bozos who blew up the mansion!” you say. “Yeah!” Carol cheers. “I’m going to figure out my dreams!” you say. “Yeah!” Carol cheers. “And I’m going to control my powers!” you say standing up. “YEAH!” Carol cheers. “Let’s go!” you say. “YEAH!” she cheers. “Oh wait… we have to pay” you say. “… yeah” Carol say biting her lip.
  11. You and her split the bill and you both get some stuff for the guys to go. You get to the motel and see Warren and Devin are already awake and packing up. “We got breakfast!” Carol says “YES!” Devin runs over and grabs a muffin and a pancake. “You girls are awesome” he says. “Why thank you” you say grabbing a muffin. You walk over to Noah who’s still trying to figure out your dreams. You hand him the muffin in your hand and he looks at you smiling “Thanks ______. Are you okay?” he asks. “I’m fine, but you’d better eat before I shove that muffin down your throat. You’ve been working non- stop on my dreams” you say. “I know… but I feel so close” he says. “Okay everyone, eat something and then grab your stuff. We’re leaving in a few minutes” Warren announces.
  12. You pack up your things and see Devin watching you intently. You turn to look at him and he continues looking at your bag. “What?” you ask. “You’re packing skills are amazing” he says. “Oh please wise master! Teach me the art of packing luggage” he says in a Japanese accent. “Okay then” you say laughing. “First you have to learn about folding clothes” you say. “Got it” he says. “No, listen first!” you poke him in the chest. “You have to roll up your clothes into little rolls” you instruct. “Rolls?” he asks. “Yes, if you fold it the way you’d fold laundry, the flat clothes will stack up and take up too much room. If you roll up your clothes, you can stack them like chopped wood, which takes up less space” you explain. “GENIUS!” he says. “Next, you have to learn about books. Never pack them face up, keep them with the pages facing down and place them side by side like a bookshelf. That way it takes up less space and the cover won’t get scratched by zippers or anything else” you explain showing him. “You should write a book on how to pack things” he says. “Well maybe I will, and you can be on the cover” you joke. “Me?” he asks. “It would get a lot of the female demographic, especially the ones who have to travel a lot in the summer” you joke. “Oooh, good idea!” he says. “Then I’ll write a book and have you on the cover to get the male demographic reading” he says. “Oh please” you roll your eyes. “GASP! Don’t even say that! You’re hotter than the sun babe!” Devin says. He touches your shoulder and then waves it around saying “ow ow ow, too hot” like he touched burning coffee. You laugh and finish packing your things.
  13. You’re all ready to go and you all get in the cars. You see Carol getting in Warren’s car again and you look back at Seth and Noah and then back at Warren and Devin and Carol. “I think I’m going to go into Seth’s car this time” you say. “Okay, but take this” Warren gives you some money. “You never know when you might need it” he says. You nod, “right… you going to survive Devin?” you ask. “It’s a miracle I’m still alive… but I think I’ll be okay” Warren jokes a little. You give him a little hug and go over to Seth’s car. “I’m cruising with you guys” you say. “Great, do you want to sit in the front or the back?” Noah asks. “I’ll sit in the back, that way I’ll be able to sleep if I need to” you say. “If you have any dreams let me know” Noah reminds you. “Of course, you’re the only one who seems to understand what’s going on in THAT area of my life” you say. “I know, and it makes sense since I see everything from a philosophical angle” he says shrugging. “Well… yeah kind of” you say. Noah opens the car door for you and you hop in.
  14. You see Seth turning the radio channels until he finds one that’s playing “Crocodile Rock by Elton John” (me: turn it on) you start bobbing your head to the music and then to your surprise you hear Noah singing along with it! “I remember when rock was yoooung, me and Susie had so much fun. Holding hands and skipping stones, Had an old gold Chevy and a place of my own” then all of a sudden SETH started to sing along “But the biggest kick I ever got, was doing a thing called the crocodile rock!” You start laughing as they’re both harmonizing with the song! When it gets to the “la la la” part you all belt out the La’s like mad! You all have so much fun singing and you feel on top of the world. When the song ends you feel a little sad but it was fun while it lasted. Seth tries to find some other good songs during the drive. You all sing along to a bunch of songs like “If I had you by Adam Lambert, I Gotta feeling by the Black Eyed Peas, Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger, Invincible by Hedley, and even What the Hell by Avril Lavinge” That last one was so funny to see them sing along to.
  15. You all had a good time. That is until the car got a flat tire. You feel the car jolt upwards and you look back and see it. “Seth, we’ve got a flat” you say. He rolls it into a parking lot and gets out of his seat. He opens the trunk and grabs the spare tire and the car jack. “Do you need any help?” you ask. “Sure” he says closing the trunk. You get out of the car and help him with the tire. “Hey… what’s this?” Seth looks at the bumper. You look at the bumper and you see a little cube, the size of a pebble, stuck on Seth’s bumper. You look at him with a worried expression. “What? What is it?” he asks. “They know where we are… “ just then the cube starts beeping “… and they’re coming.”
