  1. After school I return to my lovely job at the coffee shop, I love being the bartender. Why? Because you never know what comes through that door, I mean, I know Zane will, because he comes everyday. I think it's really strange that people come in the shop at 5 o'clock, I thought coffee was for the morning? What's even stranger is the fact I still work here. A 16 year old girl still in school, I was just shocked when they accepted my application a month ago. The door rings as a guy in a ripped-up clothing comes in, he sits in a seat infront of the bar.
  2. Black coffee please," He says, taking his sunglasses off. It was Zane, I laugh a little, "W-what happend to you?" "Uhh, there was a couple bulldogs on the street, let's just say they didn't like me," "Haha, wow. Here," I gave him his black coffee. He takes a deep breath, "So. Friday night, right?" "Yeah," I say. "I was thinking we can hang at my house and watch a movie or something," "Ok," "Ok, pick you up at 7," "Alright, bye," "Bye," He gets up and walks out. I smile and watch him as he left the shop.
  3. I head home before sun down that day, Daisy spends the night again. She practically lives here considering she spend the night here almost every day. We go shopping for prom dresses with my mom and Hailey. I picked out a cute strapless, turquoise dress with ruffles at the chest, Daisy picked the same exact one only in pink, and Hailey picked out a gorgeous angel outfit. To be honest, I was kind of jelous of her.
  4. The week flew by like nothing, some end-of-the-year exams that I managed to pass, work after school, and spongebob episodes all over again. Friday night comes and Zane knocks on my front door. I'm wearing black, ripped up skinny jeans, and a blue Hollister tee, I open the door. Zane doesn't even say a word, he smiles, grabs my hand, and heads out the door. We arrive at his house, which is much larger then I expected. "Welcome, to my home," He says, opening the front door.
  5. I walk in, "Woa," The pizza arrives only minutes later. "Look away," Zane says, so I do. I have no clue what he's doing, but I don't care. "Ok," I turn around. We sit on the couch, "Open the box," "Ok," So I open it, what am I to expect? A pepperoni pizza, right? Sure! Well yes, I did see that. Only after I say this big, bold letters written in marker in the inside of the box. It said: I know this is cheesy, but will you go to prom with me? I smile and say "Yes." We laugh together and eat the delicious pizza.

  7. Daisy, Hailey, mom mother, and I sit down on my bed. My mom is painting our nails, doing our hair, and doing our make up. She's practicing on what she's really going to do to us the night of the prom, she wants us to all look beautiful. Even though every other teenager at Bronxford High thinks sleepovers with their mom's is weird, I actually enjoy it. "Ouch!" I say, after my mom accidentally poked me in the eye with the mascara. "Maybe if you'd stop moving..." Mom replied. She does her finishing touched and It's all done! "You look beautiful," Says Daisy. "And you look like a princess," I say back. "And I look like an angel!" Interrupts Hailey. I roll my eyes, "You all look like beautiful, princessy, angels!!" Yells mom. I swear she's on something.. "I wish Zane saw me as beautiful, he always looks at me like one of the guys, ya know?" I say.
  8. My mom scoots closer to me and puts her arm around me, "Allie, If Zane looks at you like one of the guys, maybe you are. Maybe he just wants to be friends." I sigh, "I guess." My mom stands up and leaves the room, "Good night girls," She says, closing the door. Daisy creeps under the covers next to me and Hailey lays on the sleeping bag on the floor. Daisy looks at me and claps her hands, the lights go out. "I'm so happy you got that installed," She said. I started laughing. "Allie," Says Hailey. I roll over on my bed and look at the floor where Hailey lay, "Huh?" Silence rose between us, staring into each others eyes in the darkness, the next-door-neighbors party lights blurring through the window. "You still there?" I ask after five minutes of muteness.
  9. "Yeah, um, nevermind," Hailey says. "Awkward..." Says Daisy. I roll back over and face Daisy. "Your beautiful ya know," I say, moving her bangs out of her face. She smiles, "Thanks." Once again, I feel this awkward silence coming in. All of a sudden I hear a voice, "What about me? I'm not beautiful?" Says mom, walking through the door. Me and Daisy throw our pillows at her, "Get out!" We say at the same time. She throws them back, "Ok, ok." We all start laughing, I gently slide my pillow back under my cheek, trying not to touch my ear that I accidentally burned a bit while cooking eggs the other day. "Hey, Daisy," "Hmm?" "Who's your date for prom? You never told me,"....
