  1. (recap) Simone kisses Jake right in front of me(Skpipper). Not to mention I just fell i love with him.
  2. Simone. That was like her, kissing him right in front of me like that. I knew instantly I had a major crush on Jake. I’ve never seen him before though, but, in my opinion, I think we’d look really cute together. He had dark brown hair, and those deep blue eyes. “SKIPPER!” I’m awoken from my day dream, thanks to Kacey. I watch Jake and Simone disappear inside of the building, and Kacey follows my gaze. “Oo la la! Skipper’s got a crush.” I do what every girl does. Deny. “Do not.” She does what every BFF does. “Liar.” We stare each other until I crack a smile and Kacey bursts out laughing, which causes me to laugh too.
  3. Our excessive laughter is interrupted by the 5 minute bell. Oh God. Kacey and I rush in to the school, and are swarmed by the other student trying to get to class. “Bye!” I yell to Kacey, just as I turn the corner to the east hall, where my locker is. 567, 567, 567, 567. I keep repeating my locker number in my head. My locker neighbors aren’t there, probably in class. 3 minutes till class starts. I turn my lock. 16, 5, 28. It doesn’t open. I spin it again. Doesn’t budge. I groan. 2 minutes left, and I really don’t want a tardy on the first day. “Need help?” I turn around, only to fall in love for the second time today. I see a boy, blond hair, but deep brown eyes. I nod. He touches my shoulder and gently moves me away. He pound the locker and it pops open.
  4. “Thanks.” I say casually. “No problem. Buy the way, I’m Luke.” I smile. “I’m Skipper.” I grab what I need out of my locker, and shut it. “What class do you have first?” I think. First I have… math. “I have class with Mr. Wells.” He stares into my eyes. “Same. You want to walk to class together?” I look at the clock. “How about run?” He smiles and takes my hand. We weave our way through the other stragglers, to math class. We reach the room. Luke opens the door and we slip in. I spot Kacey, and sit by her, just as the bell rings. This day is starting to look up.
  5. Math class drags on, and Mr. Wells actually give us homework. He says tomorrow we will get a pretest to see how much we remembered over the summer. I can tell you how much I remembered: nothing. Summer does that to teens. The bell finally rings. I stand up but I’m run over by the other students. Kacey helps me up. “Glad we have a class together, huh Skip?” I nod. As I looked in the direction of where my next class was, I saw Jake and Simone. I was sure they’d be in my next class. Lucky me.
  6. So next class I get is science, with Ms. Horan. She really nice! She said that this is her first year teaching, which of course made the troublemakers smirk. She said the first week that there would be no homework no matter what. I thought that was pretty cool. So yes, Jake and Simone are in this class. And you know who else; Penelope and Lola. Yay. So now I know which hour to dread every day. 7 minutes till the bell rings, and Ms. Horan gets a call on the intercom and has to go pick up something in the office. She said she’d be back in 5 minutes, and if anyone left, they’d get a detention. No one believed her, but everyone stayed just in case. The way I sit, I had a perfect view of the popular group. Penelope was texting, Lola filing her nails, and oh great. Simone and Jake were making out. My stomach cringed. Why did this torture get forced upon me?
  7. Third hour; PE. I already hate it the minute I walk in; ugly PE uniforms. I mean, I know every style is unique and all, but these are just a mistake! I mean no one can look good in them, not even cheerleaders! So I wasn’t really looking forward to this class. First day and we are doing straights and curves on the track. I have no one I know in my PE class, I haven’t really gotten to make any friends except Luke. We start and I am in the front almost immediately. I’m running when I hear footsteps behind you. I reach a curve and walk. I turn around to see a boy. “Hey you!” he says. “Yeah?” He smiles. “I challenge you to a race at the next straight.” “I take that challenge.” You are reaching the run. “On your mark. Get set. Go!” We both sprint, neck and neck. We are already half way done, and he is pulling ahead. I take all my speed, and leave the boy in the dust. We reach the walk. “You…beat...me.” I smile. “Yes I did.” He hangs his head. “I just got my picture in the hall of shame.” You laugh. “I’m Skipper.” “I’m Cody. And may I ask a question?” I nod. “Why are you so fast?” I laugh some more and the whistle calls us in. “Let’s see. Race you back?” “You’re on.” I guess PE isn’t that bad.
