Our "When Will I Die" Quiz?

  1. Hey there, again. I just have a question for anyone who's reading. Would anyone like to see the twins in the results? I might add them in future quizzes anyway, but it's nice to have some input.
  2. Anyway, on to the story. Last time, you were in Diagon Alley with Padma, Parvati, and Lavender. You had brief encounters with Cedric and Neville at Flourish and Blotts, you met Oliver at Quality Quidditch Supplies, and you saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione at Magical Menagerie. After you left Diagon Alley, you arrived at King's Cross Station and Draco helped you get your trunk onto the train. All clear?
  3. I dragged my trunk and owl cage along the corridor, looking into each compartment as I passed. Padma, Parvati, and Lavender had to be in one of them. "Cassandra!" I heard a call further ahead. Padma's head was sticking out of a compartment a few spaces down. I smiled with relief and sped up, breathing heavily with the effort of dragging my luggage. Once I arrived, I pulled out my wand and directed my trunk and cage into a luggage rack, slinging my new schoolbag over one shoulder. "Where have you been?" Padma asked curiously. "Well, after you three ditched me, I had to find my own way here," I said accusingly, smiling to show I was joking. "If you weren't walking so slow we wouldn't have had to ditch you," she retorted, laughing. I plunked myself down into a seat by the window, directly across from Lavender. "My trunk was heavy," I complained defensively, setting my bag down beside me on the seat. "And whose fault was that?" Padma asked, raising an eyebrow. She had me there. The train whistled and started to move a moment later, and we started up a game of Exploding Snap since we didn't have anyone to wave to. Time seemed to fly by as we played countless games and talked about the coming year at Hogwarts. Halfway through the ride, I stocked up on candy from the trolley, purchasing enough for all of us to share. It slowly grew dark outside, until the only source of light was coming from the lamps in the train.
  4. I stood up from yet another game of Gobstones. "I'm going to change into my robes," I announced, grabbing the black clothes on the way out. I walked down the corridor towards the bathrooms, absentmindedly humming in my good mood. I recognized a familiar face as I walked. It was Cedric Diggory, the boy from Flourish and Blotts. I raised my hand to greet him when the train suddenly jerked to a stop. Being the small person I was, I immediately went flying, knocking Cedric down for the second time. Before I could recover, or even apologize, I saw the blocky shape of a trunk coming at my head and everything went black.
  5. I woke up slowly, feeling a terrible ache at the back of my head as I regained consciousness. I moaned and instinctively reached up to touch my head. I winced when I felt a searing pain and a sticky substance in my hair. The lights had gone out, so I could barely make out my surroundings. A figure was looking down at me, and I remembered Cedric. He was propping me up into a slightly elevated position. "Just take it easy," he said soothingly, trying to get me to relax. I painfully turned my head one way, trying to see what had happened. A small trunk was lying on the floor nearby, but that wasn't what concerned me. I saw a huge black mass heading straight in our direction. As it came nearer and nearer, I went into a panic, all thoughts of pain disappearing. I scrambled to my feet, shaking Cedric's restraining hand off. I jerked the nearest compartment door open and rushed inside, leaving him to do what he would. Unfortunately, I immediately tripped over someone's foot, crashing straight back to the floor. Fresh pain returned to my head with a new intensity and a new pain erupted in my ankle. I sucked in a quick breath as I felt it, but I sat up anyway. "Lumos!" a voice came from the darkness, and wand light filled the compartment. I squinted in the brightness and tried to make out the pale faces surrounding me.
  6. I recognized many of the faces. There was Harry, Ron, and Hermione, as well as Neville from Diagon Alley, and a small red-haired girl I knew as Ginny Weasley. But there was also a haggard looking man, who was holding the lit wand. "Are you all right?" he asked, a concerned look on his face. "I'm...I'm fine," I said, though I wasn't exactly sure at the moment. "Come, let's make room for Miss..." he looked at me expectantly. "Levell," I finished for him, and was helped up by Harry and Neville. My legs gave out and I collapsed onto the seat, squashed uncomfortably between the two. I opened my mouth to ask about what was happening, but the words caught in my throat. A huge black shape was outside the compartment door, just like the one earlier. The door started to slide open, a rotting, scabbed hand curled around the edge. In that moment, the temperature seemed to drop to freezing and any strength I had left seemed to abandon me. Already, my vision was dotted with spots of light and I could feel myself fading away. I dimly registered Harry fall off of the seat next to me and then I slipped into unconsciousness again.
  7. "Katie! No, wait, that's not it...Kristin? No..." a voice brought me back to consciousness slowly. Ron's face slowly came into focus. "Cassandra," I murmured faintly. "I knew that..." Ron grumbled sullenly, munching on a piece of chocolate. He sat back in his seat again, eating the candy in silence. My surroundings became clearer and the pain returned. I groaned and looked up, only to see Neville's pale face up above, looking distinctly terrified. I came to the realization that my head was lying in his lap. I shot up instantly, hoping to save both of us the embarrassment. Bad move. Spots dotted my vision and I swayed precariously, steadying myself on his shoulder. I noticed dried blood on his robes, probably from my head. I pulled out my wand and cleaned it off with a spell, ignoring his feeble protests that he could've done it.
  8. I noticed Harry had returned to his seat next to me. He looked almost as bad as I felt. "Are you all right?" I asked, concerned. He nodded silently and continued eating a piece of chocolate. The man, Lupin, gave me a piece of my own. "Eat it. It will help you recover," he explained. Sure enough, a surge of warmth spread through my body as I steadily nibbled on it. Everyone filled me in on what had happened while I had passed out. It seemed the man had warded off the dementor with a sort of spell, and Harry and I had passed out. The lights came back on and the train started moving again. They woke us up as soon as possible. Nodding my understanding, I stood up to leave. I fell straight back into my seat, my ankle screaming in protest. Lupin looked at me in concern. "I think you'd better stay here for the remainder of the ride," he said sympathetically, handing me a second piece of chocolate. Luckily, we arrived in Hogsmeade quickly. Everyone filed out of the train and headed for the carriages. Harry helped me move along. I sensed something was bothering him. I was right. "Did you...did you hear anything when...when you fainted? A scream?" he asked hesitantly. "Well, I don't think so. Not a scream, anyway," I replied, limping beside him as we approached a carriage. "I did. I heard a woman screaming, just before I blacked out. I wondered if you...never mind," he said, starting to pull away as we arrived. "Harry...it's nothing to be ashamed of. Passing out. I did, too," I said, trying to find some comforting words, but failing miserably. "You were injured! It was bound to happen! I just...well, I'll...I'll see you in class," he said, heading off towards his friends.
  9. *music826* I'm cutting this off early. I'm sorry it took so long to get this out. My schedule has been crazy lately. Anyway, I promise Oliver and Draco will appear in the next part. I've already got it planned out. I might even introduce the Weasley twins.
  10. *music826* I also have an announcement. I am now on Wattpad as well. I've rewritten the first edition so far and changed a few minor things. The username is the same if you want to check it out. I can't figure out how to make the link for it on here. Also, if you haven't seen the announcement quiz I made, I would really appreciate it if you would go check it out. Otherwise, please answer the following questions in the comments, please. Should Cedric die in your fourth year? Should I include the Weasley twins in this story? If so, should they be friends or something more? As always, I'm welcome to suggestions and anything you might want to see in the future. Thanks.
