Hogwarts Part 17

Will you get the Hogwarts guy of your dreams? Find out in this quiz. Starting in your third year, you will get the opportunity to become friends and more with Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Oliver Wood.

*Recap* Last time was the third task. You ran around causing mischief with Harry, Ron, and Neville the night before the event. When the day arrived, Draco warned you about the dangers in the maze, but wouldn't tell you exactly what would happen. You reached the Triwizard Cup and were transported to a graveyard, where Cedric was killed and you met Voldemort – and your mother, who was a Death Eater. You managed to get out of the situation with Harry and Cedric's body. You got to the hospital wing without any further trauma and were given a sleeping potion for the night.

  1. Okay, well, I'm going to start off with a short announcement...again. Sorry about that. Anyway, I've learned that once a week probably isn't going to work, so I'll go for every two-ish, probably during the weekends. I absolutely have to finish this series by the next school year, though. Most of my schedule is AP classes next year, and I'm going to need all of the time I can get. So, er, I'll get to the story now. Oh, and I honestly don't remember much of what happened after the third task, so I'll do my best to not completely mess things up. I'm just too lazy to look it up in the book right now. :)
  2. I woke up slowly, the soft rays of sunlight falling onto my skin in comforting warmth. The bed was soft and warm, and my dreamless sleep had left me feeling completely refreshed. It was so peaceful – and then I remembered the third task. I bolted straight up and looked around as if expecting something to happen. I found Harry was already awake in bed, a huge bag of Galleons sitting next to him on the nightstand. He looked over at me with a sardonic smile. "Our winnings," he said flatly, gesturing to the bag. "I don't want them. You can have it," I said with a dismissive wave of my hand. "I don't want them either," he said tiredly. "So, what do we do, then? Give it to Dobby?" I joked with a quiet laugh. He managed a smile, but seemed as clueless as I was about whom to give it to. There was a heavy silence. I could tell he was thinking about the events of the night before as well. It wasn't a subject we wanted to talk about, however.
  3. "Er, Harry?" I asked tentatively, getting out of bed and sitting on a chair beside him. He gestured for me to continue. "You won't tell anyone, will you? About my mum?" I asked with a slightly worried look. I didn't exactly want anyone to know my mother was a Death Eater. He looked almost hurt that I had to ask the question. "Of course not! I trusted you with Sirius, and I won't tell anyone about this. Not even Ron and Hermione," he said earnestly. I gave him a relieved smile and wrapped my arms around him in a quick hug. "Thank you, Harry," I said, pulling back embarrassedly. He went slightly pink, but grinned in response. The exchange seemed to loosen the gloomy atmosphere a bit, but I dreaded returning to the scrutiny of the entire school.
  4. The remaining time of term was a rather strange experience for me. While Harry seemed to be used to the stares directed at us, it was a new feeling for me. I was never a very well known student at Hogwarts, and witnessing a death and the rebirth of Voldemort wasn't the best way to be pushed into prominence. I spent a lot of my remaining time reading outside under a tree by the Black Lake, trying to avoid the Hogwarts students. I heard soft footsteps heading in my direction. "If you're coming to ask me about the tournament, I really don't need it," I said irritably, not bothering to turn around. Neville came to a stop in front of me, raising his eyebrows.
  5. "Do I need to make you dance again?" he asked in a stern voice, but was unable to keep a smile off of his face. I laughed and closed my book. "Sorry, I didn't realize it was you," I said apologetically, happy to see a friendly face for once. "Well, sit down, then," I said, patting the grass next to me. He did so, picking up one of my books. "Ancient Runes. Sounds fascinating," he said skeptically. I punched him lightly on the arm. "It is. You can just go read one of your Herbology books if you don't like it," I said jokingly, taking the book from his hands. He laughed and pulled a book out of his bag. "As it happens, I do have one," he said, pulling out a large book with Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean printed on the front. "Professor Moody lent it to me. Well, fake Moody, actually. You know, it's actually really interesting. Gillyweed's mentioned in here, you know, from when you and Harry used it in the second task. There's also this really interesting plant..." he continued on, eagerly flicking through the pages. "Neville?" I cut him off, and he looked up from the volume distractedly. "Remember when you didn't talk at all?" I asked with a faint laugh, remembering a time that seemed like centuries ago. He went pink, but joined in my laughter. The day passed by quickly. Neville and I spent a nice afternoon simply talking for once, and I reluctantly left him to go to my common room in the evening.
  6. At last, the day to leave Hogwarts arrived. There was definitely an air of reluctance as I boarded the train with my Gryffindor friends. Nobody wanted to say goodbye, and nobody wanted to leave Hogwarts despite what had happened throughout the year. We got into some trouble with Draco in the middle of the ride, which didn't end well for him and his friends. A mix of curses had severely distorted their figures. I winced as the Gryffindors shoved their unconscious bodies out into the corridor, making sure to hit them on hard surfaces as much as possible. Ron spotted my appalled look. "Well, he deserved it!" he insisted, managing to slam the compartment door on Draco's hand. I sent him a disapproving look. "Oh, all right," he said reluctantly, pushing it out into the corridor with the rest of him. He sat down and turned to face me.
  7. "I was wondering if you wanted to spend the summer at the Burrow. My mum said you could bring your sister, and she's already told your grandparents," he said hopefully. I grinned. "That would be great," I said, feeling my spirits lift significantly. Harry looked put out, though. I looked at him questioningly. "I'm stuck at the Dursley's for the holidays," he said dejectedly. "I'm sorry, Harry. I can send Shadow to come kidnap you if you want," I said in a lousy attempt to brighten his mood. He gave me a small smile. "I'll take my chances," he said with a grimace. The journey continued on with a compilation of games, talking, and munching on candy. At last, the train came to a stop in King's Cross once again. I reluctantly got my luggage and started making my way out of the compartment. Harry grabbed my arm. He was holding the large bag of Galleons we received for winning the tournament, and gestured to the Weasley twins. I nodded my understanding. The twins wanted to open a joke shop, and we had the money for it. I left the compartment, leaving him to do the task of convincing them to take it, and tripped right over Draco.
  8. I got to my feet and started down the corridor again, but looked back at him guiltily. I pulled out my wand with a sigh. He didn't deserve my help, but then again, I couldn't bring myself to simply leave him like that. I countered most of the mixed curses, and woke him up. He looked at me with wide eyes, and focused on the wand in my hand. He put his hands up in surrender, keeping both eyes on the hovering tip of my wand. I lowered it, rolling my eyes. "I'm not going to do anything," I said, stowing it in my pocket. He looked visibly relieved, and opened his mouth to send all sorts of snide remarks in my direction. "But you owe me one," I said pointedly, and deftly stepped over the unconscious bodies of Crabbe and Goyle, leaving Draco Malfoy speechless for once.
  9. I stepped down from the train, and managed to catch Arianna in the crowd. "We're staying with the Weasleys," I said, leading her over to the group of Weasleys standing near the barrier without further explanation. It was an odd feeling not going to my grandparents, but I was excited for the promising summer to come.
  10. Well, that concludes fourth year! I'm excited for fifth year now. I get Dumbledore's Army, the Inquisitorial Squad, and Umbridge to create all sorts of mischief. Like always (though I haven't said it in a while), I love suggestions and comments. If anyone wants to see the twins as a result in fifth year, I'm happy to include them. Unfortunately, I think it's a little too late to bring Cedric back from the dead, though. Otherwise, I'll see you in a week or two, depending on what my homework load is like. Until next time :)
