Hogwarts Part 49

Will you get the Hogwarts guy of your dreams? Find out in this quiz. Starting in your third year, you will get the opportunity to become friends and more with Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, George Weasley, and Oliver Wood.

*Recap* Last time you traveled back to your grandparent's house with Neville after hearing of their murders. You discovered that the place had been burned down, however. As you were leaving, realizing that there really was no reason to stay after that, someone Apparated directly behind you and took you off to places unknown.

  1. It almost instantly became apparent to me that whoever had grabbed me was forcing me to Apparate with them. The feeling of being forced through a tight rubber tube was all too familiar, and rendered me almost completely useless when I tried to fight back. My thoughts jumped to Neville. What if they had taken him, too? It was all my fault. He had tried to warn me against going back, and I hadn't listened. And now I was at the mercy of a faceless captor, almost undoubtedly a servant of Voldemort.
  2. I knew we had arrived when collapsed onto the pavement, taking huge, gasping breaths of air. My wand was immediately confiscated in my vulnerable state, and some rope bonds were wound around my wrists. "Get up," a voice ordered, prodding me in the back with my own wand. I scrambled to my feet as fast as I could. Maybe if I just played along, I would get out alive. "Look at this little weakling. And the Dark Lord thinks she could be a threat?" another voice said disbelievingly. "She's the blood of Aaron Levell. It runs in the family," a third voice said coldly. I was pushed along to the entrance of the large manor I had been so kindly escorted to.
  3. I didn't say a word the entire journey up to the mansion. However, I did get a little more information about where I was and why I was there just from listening to the Death Eater's discussion. Apparently, I was at Malfoy Manor. That statement alone sent a shiver down my spine. That was probably where Draco had been hiding out for the last few months. If I could just get him alone, maybe he'd be able to help me out of my current situation. According to the Death Eaters, Voldemort and his servants had been rounding up some of the more important enemies at Malfoy Manor. I didn't really even want to know what that meant for me. Clearly, I was one of the prisoners. I just didn't know what they did with their prisoners.
  4. To my surprise, I was just shoved into a dank, musty basement and told to wait there. As if I had a choice. I waited until I heard the lock turn and the footsteps retreat back upstairs before turning around. From what I had heard, I wasn't the only one being kept there. A dreamy voice came out of the darkness. "Cassandra?" I took in a sharp breath and stared hard into the shadows. I thought I could see a faint glimmer of long blonde hair. "Luna? They got you, too?" I said in dismay, beginning to connect the dots in her disappearance. She nodded vaguely. "Mr. Ollivander's here, too," she pointed to one of the corners. I couldn't quite imagine why the wand maker would've been taken, but sure enough, a quavering voice came from the corner. "Ah, Ms. Levell. Dark times, these are. Dark times." I couldn't quite understand how he had remembered my name after so many years, but so he had. "Hello, Mr. Ollivander," I greeted him somberly. I noticed another figure standing off to the side, but I couldn't quite make out whom it was. It was clearly a man, but the facial features were still obscure. "Hello," I said tentatively, taking a step forward. "Cassandra," a pained voice replied. "Who are you?" I asked, squinting to focus on the man. He stepped out into a sparsely lit area. "You don't remember me?" And sure enough, my father was talking to me at last.
  5. I didn't really know how to react. I had only ever seen him at the Department of Mysteries, and it wasn't like he had ever bothered to speak to me. I didn't really know what to expect from him in all his mysteriousness, but he seemed normal enough. Just a broken, beaten down man. "What are you doing here?" I asked, finally grasping onto something useful to say. "I made a mistake. Just one little slip-up after sixteen years, and they had me. And now you," he said in frustration, rubbing his face tiredly. I waited for him to continue. "I assume you know about your mother?" I nodded. "I put enchantments on your grandparent's –my parent's – house the night I left you there. That made it impossible for your mother to get you there. But by the time you left for Hogwarts, the protection was already growing weak, as it was intended to protect you while you were living there. I went to move my parents to a safer location when it started getting too dangerous, but they – the Death Eaters were already there," his voice broke slightly. "And then they finally caught you," I guessed. I saw him nod, bowing his head slightly in shame.
  6. "I shouldn't have abandoned you for all those years. But you have no idea how – what kind of condition I was in at the time. I had never imagined such a betrayal," he said quietly. I remained silent. How did you comfort your own father? He was supposed to be the one comforting ME. "So why are you such a threat to, well, You-Know-Who?" I asked curiously. He let out the tiniest of laughs. "Well, I wasn't your average Slytherin, as you might have guessed. I can't tell you how many times the Death Eaters tried to recruit me, but I joined the Order instead. While some members just fought against the other side, I was the mastermind behind everything. I was kind of the hidden leader, you might say," he said. I didn't ask him to elaborate. I could already see how an invisible enemy might be a bit frustrating. "So that's it? You've been hiding all the years just like back then trying to find ways to strike against the Death Eaters?" I asked. "Well, once You-Know-Who fell, I did settle down for a while. You've met your sister, I'm sure," he said, almost seeming embarrassed to mention her. "Yeah, I have. You left her, too," I said accusingly. "Her mother was killed. What was I to do? Put you two in danger?" he asked. I shrugged grudgingly. "Well, it would've been nice to just see you once in a while. Surely that wouldn't have been too dangerous," I suggested. "You'd be surprised."
  7. I turned away from him and slid down the wall to sit on the dusty, grimy floor. I hugged my knees to my chest, realizing just how dark and cold the basement really was. "What's going to happen to us?" I asked. "Nothing to the three of you, if I can help it," my father's voice came from above me. "And you?" I asked. "I don't know."
  8. *music826* Okay, so not much of a cliffhanger, but I thought it was a good cut-off place. This was lacking in the romance department, but it'll be back next edition. I just thought it was the perfect opportunity to explain some more family drama again. Oh, and your father kind of, er, drops out of the story for a little while. I'm afraid I've made him rather unimportant in the coming editions unintentionally. Until next time :)
