Ernie looked at Selene. "Do you know what's wrong?" He asked hopefully.
-

Selene shook her head. ‘I haven’t seen anything like it before.’
-

Ernest looked down at the floor. "Thank you." He said quietly. "For stopping me and Mahina's minds from being wiped. I owe you."
-

Selene smiled softly. ‘I couldn’t let that happen to Nina. And if you’re her friend, you must be a decent person. Nina has a nasty habit of turning people she doesn’t like into frogs.’
-

Ernie looked up. "Oh, does she now?" He made a mental note to tease Mahina for that once she got better. "Interesting."
-

Selene chuckled weakly. She looked back at Mahina and place a hand on her arm. ‘She’s ice cold,’ she said in a weak mumble. ‘We need to get her into bed.’
-

Ernest gave a small nod. "Of course." He picked her up- which wasn't an easy feat since she was frozen in place. He carried her into her bed.
-

Mahina went limp in his arms. She made a whimpering sound, but didn’t move or do anything else.
-

Ernie heard her, and held her close. "Hey, it's alright, I'm right here." He murmured.
-

Mahina’s breathing quickened and she clawed at her own arms, leaving red marks on her skin. She whimpered again.
-

"Hey, hey, no, it's alright." Ernest grabbed one of her hands to stop her from clawing at her own arms.
-

Mahina’s eyes were wide and darker than usual. She didn’t blink. Her hands shook in Ernest’s grasp.
-

Ernie grew worried. "What's wrong?" He mumbled, knowing she wouldn't answer. He squeezed her hand.
-

Mahina whimpered. Selene rushed into the room with jars of herbs, a spoon, her wand and a small cauldron. She set the things on a small table and rushed to Mahina’s side.
‘Oh, Nina,’ Selene said in a strained voice, stroking Mahina’s chestnut brown hair. ‘We’ll fix this, promise.’

Ernest sat on the bed, next to Mahina, massaging her palm.
