Mahina grabbed his wrist with her free hand, still reaching for her staff.

"I'm not letting you get hurt." Ernie whispered to her, taking another small step back.

Mahina yanked him back close to her. ‘Don’t be dumb, Frog Boy.’

Ernest sighed. "Fine, but if you get hurt I'm never forgiving myself."

‘I don’t care,’ Mahina mumbled.

"But I do." Ernie said quietly.
"Step. Away. From. The human." Callisto snapped. -
‘No,’ Mahina said firmly. She grabbed her staff.

Ernest wanted to say something about him having a name other than just: "The human", but he also didn't want to get Mahina hurt.

‘Callisto, don’t,’ Hendrik said in strained voice, fighting Selene’s magic. ‘She’s our girl.’
Callisto exhaled sharply. -
Ernie's eyes widened. He took a step back.

Mahina yanked him back towards her. -
(Baaack)
Ernest sighed, looking up at Callisto. -
Mahina aimed her staff at her mother.
‘Mahina!’ Selene gasped. ‘No!’ -
Ernie's eyes widened, his gaze switching from Mahina to her mom every couple seconds.
