Callyn was walking at a brisk pace down the city sidewalk. She didn't want to be late. Granted she would be half an hour early, but she didn't know how long it would take for her to get in.
Suddenly there was a man with a knife in front of her. He made his demand known. He wanted anything of value she had on her.
Callyn shook her head and tried to run, but the man grabbed her arm and pulled her towards her. She screamed for help.
The mugger looked up at the sound of footsteps and saw a man there. He was not in the mood to deal with this, and with the girl struggling he wouldn't be able to take both of them.
So he threw Callyn at the wall as hard as he could. She hit her head against the stone wall and was out like a light.
Callyn looked at the bandages. She moved some of her auburn hair behind her ear and looked up at him.
She realized who he was.
"Are you Turner?" she asked. "I thought you had a concert tonight, didn't you?"
