Life is like a flickering flame. It is strong, vibrant, and full of light that wards away the shadows cast by the impending darkness. Life removes all sense of doubt and fear that one might possess and replaces them with hope and joy. Though this inferno is strong, a warning is never issued as it begins to grow weak. The change is subtle, barely altering the glow it emits. The day when the flame ceases to burn looms just around the bend. When the fire of life is finally snuffed out, we are left in awe for we do not stop to commemorate the creation of life, but rather the loss of it. A small candle added to a sea of tiny flames is barely noticeable, but many dropping out is prominent and noticeable as if cast in a spotlight. Though many candles are lit to replace those who once burned brightly before, the light of the world will never be the same. Each individual flare emits a unique glow, one that could not be replaced by any number of others, for each and every candle is unique. And because of this, we must take time to cherish life while we still have it. We are compelled to live each moment, take each breath, like it may be our very last. One must count the seconds and save them in their pockets forever Life is a candle, ablaze with passion, love, and drive. But someday soon, that candles flame will forever be blown out.
