Well,im running away from the orphan house. Um well my caretaker hit me in the face with a whip a few minutes ago and that was the last straw. Yeah so im packing my bags right now. Every internet connection I find,I promise I will come on here. Im taking all my saving which is about 3,000 dollars. I have a few hours before I leave tonight. I might as well stay here and talk to you guys...

Anne, what state do you live in?
-
Well, be safe. Look up some advice on running away, if you're really going to do it. And where are you going to run to?
-
Austin,Texas.

Here are some tips that I saw:
1
Sit down and think. Do you really want to run away? Yes or no? Think of the consequences. Your parents will be worried sick, and you don't know what might happen to you in the cold, dark world that lies outside your door. Don't make a hasty decision in the heat of anger; you might regret it later. If you really feel that you are justified in taking the following steps, only then do so. It could lead to some mishaps.
2
Write a list of the positives and negatives of staying home. Really think whether running away will lead to a better outcome in your life.
3
Plan ahead. Think of what you will do if any part of your plan goes wrong, and make up excuses for everything:
If you have someone helping you run away, and have a safe place to stay with someone you can trust, you're pretty much set. However, if that's not a possibility, where will you take shelter?
What will you do if you get sick?
What if you are caught?
What will you eat?
4
Remember that if you do run away, you're putting yourself in potential danger - the world is a scary, dangerous place.
If you are a child to a teenager, running away from home may be considered a crime depending on where you live.
5
Pack up a bag with some food, money, extra changes of clothing, a jacket or coat in case it gets cold, a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and anything else you will need. Travel light; bring only the bare essentials.
6
Try to bring some of your allowance, but don't take enough to get you noticed. Maybe $10 for a bus or other transportation, and $20 just in case. If you plan to steal the money, find a place where you can get it fast without being spotted by your parents.
7
Wait until you have the right opportunity to make a run for it. Make sure you have plenty of time to get away before anyone notices you're gone. Try making your move as soon as you get to school in the morning, or as soon as everyone in your home leaves and you know they won't be coming back for a long time.
8
Get away from your house quickly. The last thing you want is for anyone in the neighborhood to notice you leaving.
9
Find a method of transportation. You will likely want to have a quick and easy way of getting around. The city bus is your best bet, or a long-distance traveling bus if you're leaving the town/city.
10
Live near large grocery stores or candy stores. These places will usually have food samples open to the public which you can snack on, though make sure you take a cart with you and try to look like you have a purpose; don't hang around. Also, you can use the public bathrooms to wash yourself and do your business.
11
Make up a story. You'll have to accept that at some point, someone's going to want to know where you came from, or what you are doing. You're probably going to need to do some thinking about this. Think of something reasonable and realistic, but don't say you ran away. Keep it simple; you must remember it everywhere you go because word gets out quite fast in this worlds about anything, so you should probably keep your story the same all throughout your life as a runaway, just to avoid arousing suspicion. If you are really serious about running away permanently, change your name. Have fun with it, but don't choose anything too wacky. But think about it, something unique would probably be best because it'll be harder to remember, and you're main aim is not to become too well-known. Also, when you leave, take only with you the clothes you wear least often, change your hairstyle, and even use a foreign accent (though this is only recommended for the truly dedicated as you will have to know where it comes from for when people ask, and you may have to somehow weave the accent's origins into the story you made up.)
12
Keep in mind, if you do decide to hitchhike, there are drivers that will do some bad things to you. They could abandon you, and you wouldn't know where you were, or even hurt you. However, on the flip-side, there are also really nice people out there who would gladly take you with them. Try to go for a nice lady or family with several children or many people in the car. They will probably want to ask you where you are going, or what you are doing, so have a nice little lie handy. Do not tell them that you ran away from home, and say as little to them as possible.
13
Protect yourself. If you are in a big city with many people, know that there are likely people who could pose a threat to you. Bring something with which you can defend yourself, such as pepper spray. Also before you even leave to run away from home, see if you can find probably an extra 20 dollars to buy a small airsoft pistol, ammo, and a permanent marker. Take the permanent marker and color the tip of the airsoft pistol black instead of leaving it orange. The gun will now look real. Make sure you add ammo and keep the gun nearby incase of any emergencies. If you cannot find something such as pepper spray or an airsoft pistol to defend yourself with, use a lead pipe. Most houses have them in the garage or somewhere in the furnace. The best way to go is to try to get into the heart of the city.
14
Find shelter. If you don't have a place to stay, you'll have to find shelter elsewhere. Try finding a reasonably safe spot under a bridge, in an alcove, in an abandoned building somewhere, or perhaps in a public building that stays open 24/7. Public libraries, churches, college buildings, airports, and train stations are all possible options.
15
Maintain yourself. This part is by far the hardest, particularly with maintaining yourself financially - mainly for food. Unless you have a well-made fake ID or drivers licence, getting a job is going to prove a challenge.
16
Decide for long-term.Is this going to be suitable for the rest of your life?
17
What happens when you run out of food?. Come up with a plan, and if you run out of suitable options, consider returning home, or if your really true about running away try starting a new life and try to get your GED or find a girlfriend/boyfriend if not consider going home -
Not sure if running away is a good idea.If your really gonna go with it may I suggest going to someone you know and trust very well.Don't knock on some strangers door, you don't know their past and they can always lie to you.
