Did you guys thoroughly read zero's post? I'll make it plain and simple for you:
-AI is bad because it trains off artists who DON'T GIVE THEIR PERMISSION for the ai model to train on their work, and it mimics their work by making a CHEAP IMITATION of that art style
-AI is bad because it RUINS THE ENVIRONMENT and uses up a LOT OF WATER and data centers are being built in LOW INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS and specifically affecting people of color by stealing the clean water supply and dirtying the drinkable water people used to use -
I don't care if you "don't believe it's happening", I don't care if you "never heard of it doing that before", and I especially don't care if you think it's "easier".
I'm not saying pick a pencil and spend years practicing art just for one character. You could've done anything else. You could've used PICREW to make a little dress up doll to reference what your character looks like. You could've scrolled through pinterest and found a reference, even. -
But you used AI because you want to willfully ignore all of the advice people are trying to tell you. You defend it even when we explicitly let you know how and why it's bad.

I like yalls descriptions of their designs! I would've drawn them even more, free of charge, fully colored, just because I liked them and wanted to see more of them! And you spit on the face of human art, real art made by someone who could've been your friend, just because you think ai is faster and more convenient.
That's so hurtful. I put time and energy into every pen stroke, every facial expression, and every outfit as I drew that little doodle of all of us.
At the stage it's currently at, AI only steals. There is no such thing as an ethically sourced generative AI companion. It has no soul, no identity, and no consciousness. It only exists to make it's userbase keep using it. And you're falling into its trap. -
I need to go cool off.
Now that I'm thinking about it, though, y'all's replies to the roleplay have a kind of chatgpt-esque language and tone. If youre using it for roleplaying too- why even roleplay in the first place? Where's the fun in it? All of the joy of thinking of a reply, trying to figure how your character would respond, is taken away and placed into the hands of a soulless machine.

isn't the earth covered with 70% water besides the people who created didn't know the implications before creating it and how does it steal others pictures it's not bad to be an artist either but chatgpt has helped me in a lot of ways and i didn't spit on the face of human art its peoples talent,passion and hardwork all im saying is AI isnt as bad as u guyz think all u have to do is not overdepend on it so u wont be lazy

How do you think AI knows how to create visual art? Do you think it just spawned that from no where?
It has to train on data. It has to learn. And the visual art it trained on was art that artists didn't give permission for AI companies to take and teach AI. That's how it's stealing pictures and artworks. It takes without permission.
Furthermore the planet is 70% water, but 97% of that water is salt water and unable to be consumed by humans. Data centers use up clean drinking water, not salt water. It's taking up the limited clean water that we have.
If you have more questions or need me to clarify anything just let me know, but AI is objectively bad and any use of it is supporting billionaires and tech companies who don't give a damn about you. -
I know about the water and data centre stuff,the people who created it,it's their cross to carry because im sure they knew before creating it
And let's say i stop using AI it won't make any difference because millions of people across the world use it and more people are using it everyday so 1 person been removed from using ai doesn't make any difference
so instead of me to stop using it when it won't make a difference from the millions of users so why don't i just use it for my benefit like learning,asking questions,researching e.t.c

bro😭 just look up "does AI steal artists" and a bunch of sources, even the Google AI will tell you the explanation for the argument Katqueen is stating. The fact of the matter is that AI, especially AI artwork, is currently harmful. Will it become a tool for good? Possibly. But for right now, it's in it's nasty adolescent phase, and is causing massive harm to our water systems, employment rates, especially in art, which Katqueen is clearly defensive about, and is starting to stunt creativity in artwork and in writing.
If you like AI, cool. Clearly Katqueen doesn't. My advice is not to argue with them in their own thread. Make a separate thread to debate on, and if they want to join in, they will. Arguing on their thread makes it feel like an attack rather than a debate, and is probably threatening for them -
You seem confused about the rules of peoples personal threads. Let me sum it up for you: It's their place to have fun, and rant without feeling like everyone is watching. Some people like to have conversations with others on here, but no one likes arguing with someone in their own thread. It feels intrusive, like someone just barged in with no respect for their personal space
I would also advice you read the 1st post people make on their thread. Oftentimes it has additional rules to follow -
