*No, she's not telling the truth. She's saying whatever she thinks will hurt, no matter if it's true or not. She'd have had no way of knowing about your financial situation until you confirmed it. She was just trying to hurt you. But she is insignificant, and whatever situation you're in now, I know it will get better for you. Save your money. That's what all kids that are responsible for themselves have to do. You'll earn whatever comes of it.
