My p.e. teacher said it was because the democrats didn't want to get rid of theobama care and the republicans said that if they didn't let it go there wouldn't be enough money for things. I don't know if my teacher is right though, after all she isn't a geograpgy teacher she is a P.E. teacher.

It's definitely part of the whole thing. It's basically dealing with the cap on the deficit that we are swiftly approaching. Obamacare would send it way over even though we are already getting closer to the max. Both democrats and republicans have been trying to come up with ideas on how to solve this problem for years and the democrats are no longer pushing back the problem.
