(OH MY GOD. bad idea to come on here while you were here.)
Daniel glared at her and finished his food. "No. Runners have to be here for a year until they can be a runner." -
"It doesn't look like I'm going anywhere." Dusk replied.

"Then wait a year." He said putting everyones plates in the sink.

"Fine." She said, ducking around Jake, who was trying to mouth her something. 'Don't get him mad' She rolled her eyes at Jake and turned to Daniel. "I will."

Daniel glared at her and went up to his room. Jake stood next to her. "C'mon. We got work to do."

"Okay. Why doesn't he help?"

"He has his own stuff to do. 4 jobs. Butchers and animal tenders, garden tenders, and cooks. Everyone works together to make the house neat, and daniel is a mapper with the runners." He explained, walking out to the garden.

"How long had he been here?"

Jake sighed, taking out 2 buckets. "3 years." He said, handing her a bucket.

"Wow. How long have you been here?" Dusk asked again.

He bit his lip, thinking. "1 and a half years." He kneeled down and started picking some strawberries. "Pick all the blueberries. The ripe ones."

"Oh." She plucked a blueberry off and inspected it.

Jake picked the ripe strawberries one by one and put them in the bucket. -
"Have you guys tried to escape?"

"That's what the runner are for." He said, picking the starwberries,.
