Before You Say Goodbye part 3

Happy Thanksgiving. I wanted to write them all before hand so I could update them all on the same day so it's be like a Thanksgiving treat. Anyway, here it is.

Second paragraph is always the worst because you almost always have nothing to say. I'd just like to say thanks. I am thankful for my family, friends, shelter and food on the table. One last thing i'm thankful for is that people like you read my stories.

  1. I listened to the pitter patter of rain tap on the window. I've driven everyone away. The last person that cared about me walked away out of my life. Actually, it's wheeled since he was in a wheelchair but still. It was Thanksgiving day because I could smell the pumpkin pie and turkey baking in the cafeteria. finally, real food. There was a knock at the door. The door creaked open to reveal some guy I'd seen around the hospital. He was a nurse about a year or two younger than me. "Hey, I'll be your personal nurse from now on. Since you will be a member here for awhile, the other nurses agreed that you should have only one nurse. My name is Jamie.". He did look like a Jamie. He had brown hair and rosy cheeks. "Come on, let's take you for a walk.". I tried to get up but when I tried to move, it took most of my energy.
  2. He saw what difficulty I was having and placed me in a wheelchair and rolled me around the hospital. He was actually pretty cool. He took me out of the hospital and for a trip across the street for ice cream and shopping. As we shopped through the mall, Jamie told me that I needed something nice to wear for later. I picked out a deep royal looking purple dress that flowed gracefully to the floor. I also bought black stilettos and a black choker necklace. I actually got my hair cut again. It's now just a little past my shoulders. We headed back to the hospital.
  3. Jamie left me back in my room to get ready since it was already sunset. I washed my hair in the sink, making it smell like green apples, the smell tickling my nose. I applied my make-up I figured I would never use again. First I used foundation that would even out my skin. Then I applied a sparkly purple eye shadow, mascara and black eyeliner. I added a bit of blush to make the pink in my cheeks stick out. My lipstick was dark purple, almost to the point of being pure black. I put on the strapless purple dress and stilettos, then adjusting myself back into the wheelchair and wheeling myself out. When I opened the door I saw a vase full of black roses, my favorite flower. There was a card attached to it.
  4. Can't wait to see you tonight. Love you lots. See you later -J
  5. I wasn't sure exactly who it was but, I had an idea. I rolled down to the cafeteria meeting Jamie there. When I came in, there were giant banners saying 'Happy Birthday' and 'Happy Thanksgiving'. I didn't think anyone knew my birthday. I continued to roll down the ramp and the first person I saw was Jamie. I knew it. Happy Birthday. I got out of my chair and gave him a bear hug as a thank you. I pulled slightly away from him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. When I pulled completely away, Jamie's cheeks were flushed. If he didn't remind me of a little brother, I would've dated him.
  6. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone charging toward us. I knew that face. a face too familiar to forget. It was Jack. Not good. I almost forgot about his overly jealous side. He grabbed Jamie by the collar and held him up several inches above the ground. I was the only person who ever knew what made Jack stop what he was doing. I got close to him, swung back my arm and punched him in the stomach. He dropped Jamie who fell to the ground gasping for air. I slapped him and walked away, leaving my wheelchair behind. I locked my room, not wanting to see anyone.
  7. I listened to the rain. It was a gloomy day indeed. There was a familiar knock at the door. I opened it and crossed my arms knowing who it was. "Look, I'm sorry. It's just that I planned your birthday party to make up for what I did earlier. I even sent you those flowers.". "Wait, so Jamie didn't plan it?". "No he didn't it was all me.". "Then why did you just sign the card 'J'?". "I figured if you exactly who it was from, you would just throw it away."." I gave him a hug but he stumbled to the ground and brought me with him. "I think I broke my leg. I had to climb up the stairs because that Jennie kid wouldn't let me.
  8. He kicked my legs and made me fall down the stairs when I was half-way up.". I hauled him into one of the wheelchairs placed out in the hall and brought him to the doctors. "After scanning his leg, he has broken his entire leg. There are no other rooms. Are you fine with rooming with him?". I nodded and his bed was set up next to mine. I lay in my bed, almost next to him. I hold his hand as we whisper sweet nothings into each others ears. He's fallen asleep now. We're still holding hands.
  9. I still hear the pitter patter of the rain. It's making a pattern, a lullaby. I remember when I was a baby my mom would sing lullabies. They never made me fall asleep. Just woke me up even more. I'm still awake and it's nearly 3 in the morning. The sun still hasn't risen. I don't want to die. Not now. I have to wonder how many days like this I'll have left until I can't remember anyone. I don't want that to happen. Everyone I've met so far seem like family. I wonder if dying really hurts.
  10. Or maybe I'll be so confused I won't know what's happening. Maybe I won't feel anything. How long, will it take until I turn into a clueless empty vessel? Until I don't know anyone else. All my energy seems drained but, I'm still fighting to stay awake. Who knows how long I have. I just want to savor every moment I have. Every month, day, hour, minute, and even seconds. It all adds up eventually. And sometime soon, mine will be up. I won't have anymore time.
