Beautiful Secrets Part 28

Announcements: There might be a game coming up if you guys want it. Anyways, I've decided to switch up POV's because I find it rather interesting. The main character will still be in first person, but along with some others. Eh, you'll see.

Alex Hart has jet black hair, icy blue eyes, a sexy collar bone, and lean muscles. Nick Martinez is more of the athletic type with his nice tan, brown hair like Zac Efron's, gray eyes like a light rainfall, pearly white teeth, and a pretty amazing body. Sam Mitchell is the adorable, quirky, shy one of the bunch with his strawberry blonde hair, green eyes like a freshly mowed lawn, and that one dimple that always gets to you. Zac Anderson is Mr. Seductive. He has dark brown hair, big brown eyes, a nice lean body, and smile that makes your legs go wobbly. Christofer Henderson and his mysterious ways eggs you on to learn more about him with his coal black hair, strange hazel eyes, distinct jaw line, and fit body.

  1. "Alright. So now we have to break in the school," I said half heartily. Gumbo sniffed the Compor while Sam put it in his pocket. "You have that thing with April so you can't go," he said. I straightened up. "I can go after!" Sam ran his fingers through his gorgeous hair and said, "No offense, but you wouldn't really be much use since you don't have your powers. Besides, you need a break. There is way too much on your shoulders right now." I was about to protest, but the thought of relaxing for one night felt relieving. That is, unless April decides to murder me at Starbucks.
  2. "Fine. But you and Alex have to be careful, got it? You guys are dealing with morphers." Gumbo wagged his tail and said, "I want to come! I don't want to spend the night roaming around this bloody house listening to that bloody Aunt of yours singing." I glanced at Auntie Lisa whom was now watching t.v. I guess she couldn't understand. I told Gumbo he could go and then turned to Alex. "How in the world are you going to take care of yourself?" He smirked. "My power isn't physical, princess. I could sit in a corner and just move things with my telekinesis attacking them. Don't need to worry. Besides, I got Sam." I glanced at Sam with his pointy ears and optimistic aura. "Faeries can fight, right?" Sam looked offended. "of course we can fight. We're not hippie tree huggers who carry pouches of pixie dust to make children's wishes come true. Hell to the no." I laughed. Sam is the best.
  3. Just then I realized how tired I came to be. Even if it was barely sundown, I felt so worn out. I went upstairs to take a quick nap before meeting April at Starbucks. There was no dream or memory playing in my head. It was pitch black, but there was a voice over. It was like somebody was whispering in my ear. 'You are angry with the world. You are angry that things are not going your way and that things always seem to turn against you. You seek to remove the anguish and despair. You thrive for the life you had before Oath snatched it up. It can happen, you know. I can help you. If only you just let me. I can help you achieve what you've always deserved. I can make people bow down to you. You could be on top of the world.' The voice became embodied and then it faded out in a snap. I opened my eyes for a few moments, but they shut again as I fell into a deep slumber.
  4. ~ "Do you want me to carry you?" Sam asked Alex as they loaded into his car. "Yeah. I'd love to be in those muscly arms of yours," Alex replied with a smirk as he closed the passenger car door after Gumbo hopped in. Sam turned on the ignition and backed out of the driveway. "You know you're not going to survive in the Core with a broken leg, right?" Alex shrugged and pet Gumbo on the head. "I can try. I'm not letting _____ go alone, if that's what you're suggesting. And I wasn't lying about the nymphs." Sam steered left and chuckled lightly. "I wasn't suggesting that. I'm just saying, there are a bunch of other people here that could help." Gumbo whined. "Everyone else is under influence of Oath. Besides, you can't just let anybody join. The Gateway is very secluded. I'm surprised they have one here in this unruly city of California. Baloney this place is. What do you Americans call it? Shady." The dog grunted and then settled down on Alex's lap. "I guess we're just going to have to hope for the best and expect the worst," Alex murmured.
  5. Sam parked his car away from the school so it didn't seem obvious. They stood outside the gates, taking turns glancing at each other and the obstacle that separates them from the school. "So what's the game plan?" Sam asked. "Gumbo, what's the game plan?" Alex echoed. Gumbo murmured something under his breath that neither of the boys picked up. "Humans these days," he said a bit louder. "Stand back now, or you might damage your lovable posable thumbs." Sam and Alex backed away from the dog and then in a blink of an eye, Gumbo was covered in full battle armor. Silver plating spread around his body, and a helmet covered his head. "Can you do that?" Alex asked Sam with a joking smile. "Shut up," he muttered. "That's great, Gumbo. But how exactly do we get over the gate?" The canine smirked and walked over to the lock. He licked it and then the lock started melting to the ground in an oozing liquid. Alex and Sam looked down at their hands and made a face. "Titanium. Oh don't be such babies, my spit only melts metals. Other than that, it's completely safe." Sam went over to the gates and pushed them open. He jumped back, expecting a sort of alarm or some sort of sharp item getting speared at him. Nothing. Alex hopped past him on his crutches. "It's a school, man. Not some Indiana Jones crap."
  6. Sam felt slightly embarrassed, but he shook it off. Sam lead the way to the area where Mrs. Bonet's classroom was located. "Stop!" Gumbo ordered them. Sam turned around quickly and checked around for any sign of danger. Nope. "What is it?" Asked Alex. "In the bush, hurry!" Gumbo ordered them quietly. All three of them dug into the bush and peeked out between the leaves and small branches. "In front of the classroom, flanking the entrance," Gumbo said. Alex squinted his eyes at the door and then saw them. Two big ogres stood on each side, both holding sharp spears and wearing gold helmets. Alex never saw an ogre before. Whenever the word "ogre" would pop up, his mind sent him an image of Shrek and Princess Fiona. These two were definitely not them. Rather than green, they were a sickly blue color. The kind of blue in which you'd turn before you died while freezing. "Any idea how to kill them?" Alex questioned, hoping his mind would cooperate today. "The less messy, the better, so I recommend just stabbing them until they turn to dust," Sam said. "I don't think chucking boulders at them would do any damage, huh?" Alex asked out loud. "Well let's see and find out," Gumbo said.
  7. Alex spotted a big boulder not so far from their hiding spot and picked it up with his telekinesis. He made it invisible, a new trick he just learned, and made it slowly towards the ogre on his left. Without warning, the rock smashed into tiny pieces. The ogre smashed it with his fist. "Crap. How'd he know it was there?" Alex asked himself more than the people around him. "They didn't choose those ogres to guard the Gateway for no apparent reason. They can obviously sense keenly," Gumbo commented. "Maybe you should have told me that a while ago," Alex said with an annoyed expression. The ogres looked at each other and then nodded. Suddenly there was darkness. The evening light that was setting was gone.
  8. "Guys?" Sam whispered with a tremble in his voice. "What happened?" Alex waved his hand in front of his face. He couldn't see it. It was that dark. "The ogres seemed to have done something," Gumbo presumed calmly. "Sam, you're a faerie, go use your nature powers or something," Alex said feebly. Sam gave Alex a look, even though he couldn't see it. "I can't make the sun come back up!" Alex sighed. There was a twig snap in the distance. With his keen ears, Gumbo heard leaves rustling on the ground and drifting through the wind. "Boo." All three of the guys jumped as someone behind them creeped up and put a big, beefy hand on Alex's shoulder. Out of reflex, Alex picked up one of his crutches and started swinging. There was a grunt from the ogre as he staggered backwards. "We can't fight them without light. We have to go!" Sam urged on. The others agreed and they ran in the direction of the gate. Well, the direction they thought the gate was at. It felt like hours before Alex stopped since his crutches slowed him down in numb pain. Then the lights went back on. It blinded him at first, and it took him a while to get adjusted to it. Alex looked around and scolded. "Crap." Sam and Gumbo weren't there with him.
  9. He seemed to be by the art room, which was way back of the school. Why the hell did I run in this direction? He asked himself. He walked over to the classroom and put one crutch up against the door. He reached for his cell phone inside his pocket and decided to call Auntie Lisa since ______ was probably still sleeping. The thought of her made his insides feel like Jell-O. He never thought he'd feel again after what happened to Misty. The no signal snapped him back to reality. Well this was just terrific, Alex thought. He grabbed his crutch from the door and hoped that Sam and Gumbo were waiting for him by the gate.
  10. "Where the hell did Alex go?" Sam asked Gumbo wearily. "He's coming. I can smell him." Sam stifled a laugh. "He smells that bad, huh?" Just then Sam was knocked from under his feet. He lazily got up and turned around to find one of the ogres there with his spear. "My mom just washed these jeans for me. And now they're dirty. Game time, bro." Sam whistled and then birds started pecking at the ogre, trying to get him in his eyes. The ogre swung his spear and knocked one of the birds out of the sky. "Birdie!" Sam cried as he slid across the concrete, catching the bird. Gumbo rolled his eyes. "Stay back, faerie. You're going to get your wings bent." "Not funny," Sam said through gritted teeth.
  11. Gumbo circled around the ogre in super sonic speed; all Sam could see was a silver blur. Wads of dog spit came flying out of Gumbo's mouth, which melted the spear tip and the ogre's helmet. "Arghh!" The ogre exclaimed, frustrated. It clawed at Gumbo, trying to get him in his fists. Gumbo slipped on a leaf, and it was the perfect opportunity for the ogre to make a grab for him. Gumbo squirmed in the ogre's fist, bit his grip was way too strong for the dog. "Do you want my help now?" Sam asked with a small grin of amusement. "Stupid faeries," Gumbo muttered under his breath. He started wiggling around in the clenched fist until he heard the metal drop on the concrete. "Get the dagger!" Gumbo called out loud. "Magic word?" Sam said with a silly smile that Gumbo wanted smack off of his face. He wished that boy's face was made of metal. "NOW." Sam shrugged and lunged for the dagger. Avoiding the swinging arm of the ogre, he managed to get face to face with its belly and slashed the dagger over and over again until the ogre slowly turned to dust and Gumbo was down on the ground safely. "Never do that again," Gumbo warned. Sam laughed and pet Gumbo behind the ear. "Let's see if Alex got eaten."
