  1. Hi. My name is Mandy and I am 24 years old and live in NYC with my grandmother, bessie in an apartment. I love animals. I have a Turkish Angora mix Maine Coon, Taffy, a border collie mix husky, Snow, and a golden retriever mix labradoodle, Lola. ( She looks like a small and curly golden retriever) So yeah. I drive a blackish purplish Mini Cooper and do all of the errands and chores for my grandmother while she knits new scarfs and clothiers for me that look proffesional. I wear my purple jacket with gray hearts on it everyday. Guess who made it? My nana, of course. She even knitted me a few pairs of black pants, which is my favorite color besides purple and gray. I have only 1 pair of shoes, which are gray cons. She bought them for me then sewed on some black polka dots and purple ones. She is starting another pair of shoes that are just like this pair, since I had these since my second year of college. I'm in my last, now. They are worn and some dots started falling off! I still love 'em, though.
  2. Nana asks me to get some milk, cheese, and tomato sauce. I nod my head and grab the keys. I'm almost at my car when I get stopped by someone. "Hey, there," it says. I turn around. Kinda cute. Floppy, blonde hair, freckles, and blue eyes. Tee hee. But I can't let my brain get to this. "Can I hop in?" he asks. "No," I say firmly and seriously. And a bit too loudly. People start looking at us. Oh, no. I hate to be in the center of attention. The first thing that my mind can think of is to et away from it. I jump into my car and slam the door in his face. Ooops. More people stare at me. I whiz away. I look into my review mirror. He's following me! I get into the right lane and turn sharply. Ha! His SUV can only klutz around the corner! Good one, Mandy. I get into the lane where people are dropping off their books. Once it is my turn, I look in my purse for them and drop the books in. I then U-turn to get out of line and head over to the market. When I get there, I park my car on the street and shuffle and run in at the same time, trying to look normal. I literally run to the back of the store, which is the dairy section. I pick up the milk and cheese and rush for the tomato sauce. In line, I hope he can't see me. I did wear my knitted jacket and a pair of my knitted pants with a black tee under. I also wore my gray cons. Oh. I also have a high ponytail tied with a purple ribbon on my copper and chestnut hair. Great. I quickly try to undo the ponytail but it is then my turn. I drop the items on and give the girl a twenty dollar bill. She gives me change as I put the food back into my purse and hurry out to my car. The boy! He's here! I sprint into my car as he smiles at me. I fiddle my keys into their hole and drive back home.
  3. Iark my car at the apartment and run up the stairs to level 3 room number 8. I open it with my keys and smile at the sight of Taffy on Nana's lap, Lola barking for her ball (so that was where the barking was coming from), and Snow guarding Nana by sitting between her legs. I go into the kitchen and put away the food. Then I take Taffy off Nana so she can keep on knitting her...shoes? Pants? Anyways, I take Taffy into my room and set her on my bed.
  4. My bedroom has white walls, a bed with a purple spread, white pillows, a big window with black and white striped curtains, Lola and Snow's doggie beds, a few stuffed animals from claw machines and pier prizes, a few chew toys, and a white desk with a gray chair in front of it. On the windowsill, there are two plants growing. A flower and another plant. I look out the big window that overlooks the city. Nana's bedroom is nextdoor and the same as mine, just she has everything that I have purple red. And she doesn't have the pet beds. Snow's is white and Lola's is yellowish brownish. Like gold. The loving room has a sofa and a chair. The carpet is gray and the walls are white. There is one picture hanging on the wall. The kitchen is next door. It looks like a normal kitchen, yellow tiles, white walls, and granite countertops. The cabinets are all brown and there is a small table at the end with two chairs. The fridge is white. The bathroom is white with white tiles, white sink, and a white shower. The only thing that isn't white is the cucumber melon hand soap we have. The toilet is white, too. I have a bike that I use to go to places that aren't very far away, like Central Park or somewhere else. It's purple and gray. I make some lunch for Nana and me. I make spaghetti and meatballs and don't notice how long it takes and Nana declares that she has finished my next pair of black pants. She also confirms that I have a new top made by here. I thank her as she limps out of the rocking chair and puts them in my room. She also nudges the ball for Lola. Then she gets back into her chair. I call that dinner's ready and she follows me to the table.
  5. After I eat, I go to my bedroom and sleep.
  6. In the morning, I wake up to find Lola at my side and panting hardly. I wait for Nana to wake up before I eat breakfast.
  7. Nana finally wakes up and I go to the breadbox to get two bagels. I look in the fridge and find cream cheese. I spread them onto the bagels and give one to Nana on a plate and put mine on the table with a plate. I pour two glasses of orange juice and serve them to us. Nana thanks me and starts to eat.
  8. Nana steps up from the table and starts to knit again. I walk into my room and Taffy crawls onto my shoulder. I open my laptop and find the file that I had made in 2000. I open it up to find:
  9. Mom and Dad are taking me on a plane to New York City! I am riding on a plane right now. Mom is sitting next to me and Dad is in the seat across from us. I'm finally 10 and this is mt present says Mom. I hug her and smile at Dad. Bye!
  10. I start to tear up. On that very trip, I was visiting Nana. Well, we were. I haven't seem Mom and Dad since then because-well, you know. I don't know how, but I survived the plane crash and they didn't. I was brought to a hospital after in Brooklyn with Nana there. That was 15 years ago, when Nana was in her 80s. I tear up again.
