  2. What is your gender?
  1. By nightfall we had reached this canyon you wouldn't imagine would lie within a forest. It was so large and immense. The moonlight shown into the canyon, a small glitter at it's base signified a distant winding river. The reds and purples of the walls reminded me of pictures and stories of the Grand Canyon, my mother was always fascinated with Earth and often told me it's history and landmarks. I smiled at the memory and whispered the words Grand Canyon. I looked for a path to the bottom or across it. Yet I couldn't find one, I only saw cliffs and crevices, ones that Bo and I would fall to our deaths on quicker than anything. This was not a fate I'd allow. I turned Bo to the left, hoping that would be farther from the elusive hunter. I've never killed a human, but if the time called for it, I think I would have little difficulty bringing myself to it. I did not know of a kingdom in this area, so it was a surprise to find that I was drugged. 'I suppose it would be simple among these trees. They easily could tower the height of any palace.' I allowed my mind to wonder as we continued. Something I do not allow myself often, but with the recent events, I think I deserve a moment's reprieve. I thought about this and that. Little things of little importance. My mind clouded with my memories and fantasies. I was trusting Bo entirely to not lead us astray. I was at peace, and I was happy, but only for a moment. Bo stopped in his tracks and he began to back up with his ears pinned back. My mind instantly cleared and I searched for the threat. I looked into the canyon and I stood there in shock. Built into the canyon was a kingdom... the very kingdom I had hoped to avoid.... Bo recovered faster than I and he turned and bolted in the other direction. One thing I love about Terrafae is that the native horses like Bo are very intelligent, and I often believe he understands my words and he certainly can sense my emotions. We fled from the kingdom faster than we've ever run. I was extremely scared, adrenaline pumped through my veins. I closed my eyes and cleared my mind. I always made mistakes when not thinking clearly. My eyes opened and a new sense of determination filled my body. Now helping Bo move, we flew over the ground, his hoofs barely coming into contact with what stood below us. I felt invincible. Not a soul could stop us in our tracks. The power I felt below me was immense and incredible. I chuckled quietly to myself, this feeling is not something I feel often, I try to cherish it when I do. The feeling was absolutely magnificent... until it disappeared. It was a brief moment because of the speed we were traveling at... but a moment that was long enough to strike fear in me once again. We passed three astonished faces atop three eager steeds.
  2. (HUNTER'S POV) I stood before my king, I explained the problem moments before. But he did not move. I stood there uncomfortably, I was new, the best, but new. I didn't handle these situations as well as a well seasoned politician. His eyes opened and looked at me with weary eyes. "Wait for my decision outside please." He said this to me with a tired hint in his voice. I nodded my head and strode outside. I sat in a chair besides the grande doorway that lead to the king's throne. I sat and played with my thumbs waiting. I watched as a young boy ran from the room and disappeared around a corner. I watched after him a while, but nothing came by again. I silently sat there in boredom. My mind wandered to that beautiful girl in the woods. I did not know anything about her but she still stole my thoughts. I was thinking about her long golden hair when a pair of footsteps echoed in the hallway. I snapped from my thoughts to find a warrior passing me by, I did not know his name but I knew he was fairly skilled, one of the king's favorites. He didn't acknowledge me and I glared at him. Hunters and warriors were not fond of each other. He entered the throne room and I sat there alone once again. After a moment he appeared again and sat in a chair across from me. I avoided his eyes and he the same. The same boy did the same as before and I could feel irritation bubble up inside of myself. I loathe waiting, and I was bored. A moment later a man in nice cloaks appeared before us, and vanished into the throne room. I assumed a politician. A moment passed and the doors were thrown open. I looked up in surprise and relief as the two of us were beckoned in by the small boy. He must have been of just 12 years of age, probably the youngest in the kingdom. There was a rumor that one of the few women here was pregnant, but it was merely a rumor. Who knew if it was true. I strode into the room alongside the warrior we stood by the man in nice cloaks and awaited the king's words. He looked at the three of us and began, "Now that you are all aware of the situation at hand. We need her, whoever she is. I believe that the three of you can take her to me with out a scratch on her face. Go, now." We all made a small bow and left the room. I said nothing and the others did likewise. We came up to the stables and each of us approached a horse. I didn't know about the others but I had my own horse. She is a young mare, but sturdy and reliable. Her breed is a quarter horse. I greeted her and she uttered a low nicker in response. She nibbled at my boots as I stroked her chestnut neck. Her face was adorable and trusting of me. I saddled her up and rode out with the other two close behind. I rode along a small side way up the canyon and to the other side. I rode into the forest and tried to find her path. We went slowly for a while, I had a hard time finding it. She was good. We passed by deer tracks, but I paused. She was so good that I almost missed it. Her trail was the deer trail. I almost missed it but she left behind a single strand of hair caught on a bush along the trail. I smiled and spurred my horse on. We followed the trail quickly now that I knew what I was looking at. We came to the canyon again. I furrowed my brows in confusion, she must not be aware of the whereabouts of the kingdom for coming so close. And as if to confirm my beliefs, she passed by with such speed fleeing from the direction of the kingdom. My mouth open in astonishment.
  3. (WARRIOR'S POV) I was sparring with a pupil. It was severely easy for me as I was the best at handling a sword in the kingdom. I was dumbing it down a lot for him. A small boy of maybe 12 came in to give me a message. Apparently my lord wanted my presence immediately. I heeded his wishes and hurried to the throne room. In a chair outside the room sat a hunter. I assumed my king's new favorite. I didn't acknowledge him and I could feel his glare on the back of my head. But I couldn't care less. I came before my king and bowed. His words came to me quickly and urgently, "The hunter that sits outside my doors has tracked down a woman. A young strong woman according to his account. She would be here now if it wasn't for her abilities. She has proven to be extremely intelligent and elusive. And to add to it, by her side stands a fjord, and you know that that breed of horse is extremely protective and can become violent. Now, the hunter will have no problems finding her again, but, I need you too. If a fight erupts, he is capable, but not as well as you. I want you to be there in case of violence. Not to necessarily hurt her, but the opposite. I need her here healthier than healthy. You must be there to talk her down." I nodded absorbing the information. In our kingdom most of the women we have were too old for the task of pregnancy, and that's a problem. A young capable woman is just what we need. He asked me to wait outside and let me know that she was skilled in archery. I bowed and left the room. I sat in the only other chair across from the hunter. I wouldn't look at him and he did the same. 'I can't believe he let her go.' I couldn't help but think to myself. I was lost in my thoughts and noted the passing of people. Soon enough the doors opened and we were invited inside by the same boy. Inside stood a man in nice cloaks. I subtly shook my head, he's probably never had to get his hands dirty in his life. He looked at the three of us and began, "Now that you are all aware of the situation at hand. We need her, whoever she is. I believe that the three of you can take her to me with out a scratch on her face. Go, now." We all made a small bow and left the room. We then hurried into the stables and went to a horse. I didn't care about the others, but I owned my own stallion. He was a dapple grey Andalusian. He stood there regally as I saddled him. This boy was the most loyal and strong horse I've come across. I figured I'd keep him as a friend even in his old age. I mounted his back and he reared in excitement. I followed the hunter on his chestnut mare out of the canyon. The other man somewhere behind me. We reached the forest and I was irritated as we continued slowly. After some time the hunter paused and went back to look at something. He then smiled and galloped through the forest. I spurred my steed on in pursuit. Eventually we came to the edge of the forest and I could see on the hunter's face confusion. Then, a split second later, a girl on a horse thundered passed us.
  4. (DIPLOMAT'S POV) I was watching two men quarrel in amusement. I enjoyed watching human behavior, it helped me in speeches and debates. I was about to see a good fight too when a boy interrupted my thoughts. His name was Timmy, he helped me a lot. He was a boy of ten years but looked older. "Not now Timmy." I told him. "But sir... King William wishes to see you! He says it's urgent!" I looked back down at him. "Fine, follow me boy." We traveled quickly to the king's throne room. for every one of my steps he took three. I was very tall. I saw two men sitting outside the room, from their clothes I could tell one was a hunter and one a warrior from their clothing. 'I wonder if they got into a fight and he needs my assistance with them. I wouldn't be surprised." I entered the room and smiled at my old friend. His hair was very white, showing his age, but that meant nothing to me. We were fond friends, though only treat each other as so when alone. However, if his queen or Timmy were in the room it didn't matter. He did not smile back. He had given me the summary of the new information about the girl. I knew this was serious. For every ten men in Stoneway there were but one woman. We needed them. I nodded my mood suddenly somber. "I need your help old friend. Those men outside of the door can track her down and subdue her if necessary. But I do not want any violence. She is precious and needs to be treated her as so. I want you to try and lure her in with your words alone. A skill you are very adept at." I nodded in acknowledgment. I then signaled Timmy to open the doors for the two other men. They came in and we all bowed to the king. He looked at the three of us and began, "Now that you are all aware of the situation at hand. We need her, whoever she is. I believe that the three of you can take her to me with out a scratch on her face. Go, now." We all made a small bow and left the room. We all walked in silence to the stables. I was not an experienced rider, but enough to own a horse. Because of my beginner nature, I had a reliable gelding Peruvian Paso. He was not young but not old. He knew his job and we were fond of each other. I'd visit him frequently. He was what they told me a palomino. Golden with a flaxen mane and tail. We were partners with the up most respect for each other. I saddled him and followed the others to the forests bordering our kingdom, Stoneway. We continued slowly until the hunter seemed to find what he wanted, signaling it with a smile. He galloped forward and so did the warrior. We followed, but it was more difficult, Peruvian Pasos were not renown for their speed, but their endurance. This was fine for me, and we did make it to them as they halted before the trees ended. I watched as confusion flowed over the hunter's face. And in astonishment, I watched the girl ride past us. For a split second my eyes connected to her bright green eyes.
  5. (MY POV)I prompted Bo to go faster, but he could not, even though he tried. I could tell shock hindered them a moment, but not long to recover. I could hear all three of them take off after me. I clenched my teeth and desperately looked for an escape. Ahead of my I recognized a snaking path leading down the canyon. I knew that Bo could handle it, maybe not with as much speed, but neither could those following me. I showed Bo the way and hoped that one of their horses would fail or be too skidish to follow. We began the descent but to my dismay they each tackled the same challenge as I. The four of us scrambled down the path with every last bit of focus possible. I did not let it bother me, but I knew that if Bo lost his footing we'd fall to our death below. We continued for what seemed too long. When we finally reached the bottom, Bo whinnied in triumph and continued with renewed adrenaline and determination. However, they began to advance towards us, faster than I'd like. I searched for another way out, but I couldn't seem to find one. The river besides me was dark and strong, I wouldn't risk Bo's life over that. But maybe mine... I leaned forward to whisper my idea in his ear. Hoping he understood I dove into the current of the river. When I came back to the surface I saw Bo continuing. I smiled. 'So he does understand my words.' I then took a deep breathe and fought my way to the other side. Good thing I'm a phenomenal swimmer. I reached the opposite bank and took myself from the water dripping wet and frozen. I looked behind me to see the three men tying their horses up, preparing to follow me into the river and then on foot. I began to sprint. I looked to the walls for a way out and finally found one. There was a small crevice that I could fit into that those men had no chance of fitting into. I found it just in time for they were each on my heels. The crevice was in a recess of the walls so I took the opportunity. I lead myself into the recess acting like I didn't know it was a dead end. I then reached the wall and turned my back hiding the crevice. I wanted to know a little about the three.
  6. I watched them halt, two obviously tired from the sprint. The two of them must not be the best in cardiovascular endurance. But the one on the left looked like I felt. Tired, but could've continued. We stood there a minute judging each other and sizing each other up. The one who wasn't tired was wet like me and wore the garb of a hunter. On his back sat a great bow and maybe a dozen arrows. His hair was short and a dark dark brown. His eyes were the same deep color. His face was hard and he had a goatee that I had to admit looked good on him. He stood a little taller than me and watched my every move, just like any hunter would. The one int the center was extremely tall. His clothing was obviously expensive and not made for this kind of exertion. I knew he'd be the talker. His hair was messy and a light brown. His skin was tan and his eyes a stunning icy blue. On my right stood a man who had an enormous presence, and enormous himself. His clothing black, and he had a large sword drawn. I knew he was ready for any fight I'd pick. His hair was blonde and would be spiked if it wasn't for the water holding it down. I could tell because of traces of gel. Only someone with my eyes could have detected it. He looked at me with eyes black and fierce. His short sleeves revealed strong arms and a tattoo on his left arm. I knew I would have been in trouble if it wasn't for my escape tactic. However, they seemed oblivious to my plan.
  7. The center man caught his breathe and began to speak. He drew my gaze, but I kept an eye on the other two. "I am sorry for the chase we've given to you... but you did run. You are perfectly aware that men need women like you. However I cannot blame your flight. Men are notorious for abusing women like you. I can assure you that the kingdom that sent us means nothing but luxury for you. We need you. And I'm sure your tired of running. Let us escort you to a new home of which will treat you like a goddess. You deserve this I am sure." He said this to me watching my face intently. To my right I saw the man take a step forward. I snarled and took a defensive posture in his direction. The middle man pushed him back and gave him a glare. I left my poise but looked at them suspiciously. The middle man offered me his hand and said, "Come, it's time you've relaxed and enjoyed your lifetime." As I considered his offer, the one thing on my mind was....
