  1. Don’t ask me how it happened, but a shower of water came from nowhere and drenched her. It looked like the water was coming from a fire hose or something, and it looked painful. For some reason, I felt calmer. And the water stopped. I heard Adrian almost howling in laughter behind me.
  2. “You b----!” was all Tanya said, and she stomped down the hall. I started giggling. I couldn’t help myself. I don’t know why I was, it just happened. “Damn Sage,” Adrian said, trying to compose himself. “I didn’t even know that I could do that,” I said laughing still. A fire erupted in the middle of the room. “What the hell did you do to Tanya?” Jareth asked, looking amused, but still kind of stern. “She had a little tantrum,” Adrian said, picking me up and setting me gently back down on the bed. “Now stay put,” he said, and he ushered Jareth out of the room and left with him. I sighed and leaned my head back. Not five seconds later Adrian popped his head back in the doorway. I had closed my eyes so he had to “Pssst” at me. I looked over at him and he grinned at me and winked. He made a kissy face at me and then he was gone just as fast as he came. I couldn’t help but giggle, and then I fell fast asleep. Who did I dream of?
  3. I awoke crying, crying from the sharp pain that was going down my leg. My leg was throbbing so painfully I wanted someone to shoot me again, but in the head this time. I opened my eyes and saw the same blonde guy from the alley standing there at the foot of my bed, looking like he was in pain as well.
  4. “There there, don’t worry my sweet, everything is going to be alright,” he said, taking a syringe and sticking it into a tube that was now connected to my arm. I didn’t realize it, but there was a needle in my arm. I didn’t try to jerk it out because I had actually done that once when I woke up in a hospital after I had a concussion after I fell off the monkey bars in middle school. “What are you doing? What are you giving me Cameron?” I asked, cold-heartedly.
  5. He was wearing some loose jeans and a black plain t-shirt. His hair was combed over and slicked back. He looked at me. “I’m just giving you some pain medication.” This was almost a sigh of relief, almost. “Why?” The look in his eyes softened even more. “Because I don’t want you to be in pain. I would never want you to have any discomfort in your life.”
  6. The pain did start easing up and almost went away. He still stood at the end of the bed. “What are you doing here?” I finally asked, looking over at him. “I came to make sure you were alright, I saw you go down, but I didn’t think that it was going to be that bad. The bullet was supposed to disintegrate as soon as it entered the top layer of your skin.” This made me feel so much better…. yeah right. “So in a way you tried to kill me. Yet now you want to be sociable?” Cameron laughed softly. “I wasn’t trying to kill you. If I wanted you dead, we wouldn’t be talking right now.”
  7. I gasped at the strong words. “I’m not going to lay a finger on you Sage. Not if you don’t ask me to.” He took a few steps towards the window. “Where are you going?” I asked. “Its time for me to leave,” he said, looking expectantly towards the door. “Are you coming back?” I asked. I don’t know why I asked it, but I felt that I needed to be prepared next time he would come, and I had a feeling that she would. Cameron smiled at me. “Of course. I can’t stay away from you for a long period of time.”
  8. I was about to ask him why when Tommy burst through the door and was raving mad. I couldn’t jump up, so I used my powers and created a fire wall in-between Tommy and Cameron. I did this just long enough for Cameron to be able to jump out of the window and into the darkness. As soon as I thought he was a good ways away from the house, I put the firewall down again. “What the hell are you doing?” Tommy yelled at me, his eyes going absolutely nuts. The other guys were waiting in the hall and had seen what had gone down. “I was defending someone who had helped me,” I replied, folding my arms against my chest. I wasn’t just going to stand back and let him do this to me. “Bulls---!!! That is total crap! He is trying to kill you Sage! Do you not get that?”
  9. “Then that is why he didn’t when he had the perfect opportunity.” Tommy laughed. “He’s messing with your f---ing head. You have no clue what that kid can do!” Katie came into the room and clutched Tommy’s arm. “Let’s go babe. Let her figure it out. We can’t do everything for her,” she said, as she tugged on his arm and they walked out of the room. I didn’t know what to say at that point. I was honestly trying to get a sense of what I was going up against. Yeah, I had no training whatsoever, but that obviously means nothing if I can build a firewall as soon as I think about it. Jareth walked inside the room and I almost instantly regretted what I did not ten minutes ago.
  10. “Before you start talking, I’m just going to say one thing,” I said, before he would yell at me too.. “I woke up with my leg hurting, and he was just there. It’s not as if I asked him over for tea or something.” Jareth looked as if he was thinking about it for a moment. “I believe you. Really I do. But warn somebody that he’s here or something. Think of Adrian, talk to Billy through his Magickal brainwaves of his,” he said. “Do something, so we know that you are safe.” He came over and sat on the bed. “The fact that you were in danger and I wasn’t there scares the hell out of me Sage.”
